    Loved all the Vauxhall’s and had quite a few. Never spent more than a onner . The best thing about most of them, bench seat, column change, plenty of room to get your leg over without getting a gear lever up your arse. Memories!

    Gorgeous Cresta's but the British peasants wanted Ford Populars.

    I had PA Velox 420 DWD and was the car that gave me the most pleasure to drive. The bench seat and a column change, girls wore skirts and stockings and not jeans--- happy days!!!

      Shame that we can't go back to those days, but at least I can have fun still being able to drive my '61 and '62 Velox PA's around.

    nice, was watching a 1993 club meet vid and out of 16 cars then on display a search revealed only 6 were still road registered till 2020, 5 had vanished without trace with no details held by DVLA, 1 had lost its license plate in 2015 to a jaguar, 1 had lost its license plate in 2000 to a Mercedes ,1 was declared SORN, 2 had road tax which ran out in 1993 and 1999 and have neither been retaxed or declared SORN

    Old Vauxhalls are amazing. Beautiful cars, great engines. It's only a huge disadvantage.
    They rust, even worse than Opels.

    PA was a great car for its time, PB was a good car PC 😔 although better than the competing Ford Zodiac IV which was truly dreadful.
    By that time Humber were fading out although Chrysler tried to sell the Australian built Valiant in the UK it didn't fit the market so Mercedes, BMW and Audi got a real foot hold

    Hey mate. I’m from Australia and I’ve got 2 pa’s. Gotta say,,, fantastic looking cars they are. How is parts availability going for you lads in the uk. Parts pop up here every now and then but they’re few and far between and sourcing good stuff is becoming increasingly more difficult. Thankfully being the fairly resourceful guy I am I’ve managed to stock up nearly doubles of most things but geez do you have to put in the leg work and hunt!

      Service, clutch, brake and lots of other parts are available via the Vauxhall Cresta Club, but only to club members, detail's can be found at: www.vauxhallcrestaclub.co.uk - The club produces a quarterly magazine and ships parts worldwide. We also mail out a quarterly club magazine to members, featuring classified ads and club spares pages. Windscreen and window rubbers are no longer available since A and B Classic Vauxhall Rubbers in Australia closed down. Body panels come up every now and then.

    Hi👋🏽, I'm in the process of sourcing material eg. Tools and products to restore my Dad's Cresta Vauxhall. What kind of tools do I purchase and where.. England❓ I live in Trinidad 🇹🇹. But, I shop online from the USA. Can I get any tools from the USA❓

    • @RUSTYVELOX
      @RUSTYVELOX  3 года назад +2

      Because you need AF spanner and sockets, USA is best as shops in England no longer stock them or the UNF size nuts and bolts, I usually buy online, I also buy tools from USA when I get to travel there. Some parts are available in UK and Australia, but it may be a good idea for you to join the Cresta Club, as a member you can buy parts from the club, but not tools, you can also get technical advice and receive 4 club magazines per year. The club ships parts to overseas members. You can find information on how to join at: www.vauxhallcrestaclub.co.uk
