In the 1960's, my father-in-law was the proud owner of a yellow Cresta with the split rear window and blue leather seats, It incidently ended eaten up from rust due to salty roads in Belgium. At the same time, my father had an Opel Kapitän, more or less the same US style. That Kapitän did not resist much longer to the assaults of rust although he protected it with rust proof Dinitrol. I was in my early 20' back then. What a time!!!

nice, 3 year old video but as of Aug 2019 948CMJ is listed as on SORN, YJB605 and VRD534 appear to have since vanished as theres no such vehicles with those license plates listed with the DVLA,178FTX its road tax expired in Nov 2018 and it has not been either declared SORN or retaxed...all the other vehicles are currently road taxed till feb/march/may 2020 at least.

Paul. Yep, I agree too which is probably why I love them as much as I do. And of course, they're the 'correct hand drive' for want of a better description. You can tell the designers (or at least one of them) came from the USA can't you. Great video by the way.

No the Mk2 Consul /Zephyr /Zodiac was the most "American British Car Ever", look at the 55 & 56 Fairlanes and Mainlines, Ford got it right, Cresta front grille copied the 55 & 56 Packards with the Early lollipop lights taken from the 1960 Mercury which is Ford, and the three piece rear window taken from the 57 Buick, and American Cars didnt rust in the showrooms like the Vauxhall PA series
