I had a VX490 back in the 90s, wicked motor, was working for Tyreservices Grays at the time. That car had everything done on it. I miss her now and my 81 3.0s Capri. Great video, keep her going.
Break in the weather and happy to start on the 1963 Vauxhall Victor estate . AKA uks puddin travelall :) . Removed carpet and yeah damp seeing previous repairs. So not as bad as I thought . Excited to crack on . Thanks www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/1GUREZJ0ERYOD?ref_=wl_share
Cheers mick first Victor estate I’ve owned. I did own for a few months a Victor saloon . Hopefully getting this one inside workshop in next day or so to get cracking on it thanks
The wheels certainly do suit this model! Our neighbour had one, as a company car, when I was a boy (saloon). Had some pleasant rides in it! Still one of my favourite cars! I'm 71, so I remember these from when I was young. How old are you, incidentally? Whatever age you are ( nowhere near my own age, I think) you have excellent taste in appreciating something as timeless as this! Excellent seats, and Rostyle wheels! The favourite wheels of the day - though not fitted by Vauxhall. Factory fitted on Ford Mk 2 Cortina, SIXTEEN HUNDRED 'E' sports version. FIRST chromed, and later silver like this! Got into trouble financially on my pension (- worst pensions in Europe), otherwise I would certainly be pledging you some MONEY for this worthy cause! Keep up the good work, and enjoy your lovely car at the end of it!
Very rare. Nice that it has the 4-speed floor-change. With that grille it should/could be the 1595cc engine (from Sep '63). Technically those wheels are PCD 4x100mm and not suitable for those 4x4inch hubs.
Andy my 2cv is in the garage, i'm getting it ready for paint , last time it was painted in 1986😂 i know a friend that paints well .Happy sunday to all there😇
For a 1963 in original condition,I’m well happy with the bodywork and floor etc. very cool car !!

I'm looking to get a 58 A55 Cambridge off a pal of mine in a few weeks !
Amazing find. That’s gonna look the nuts when it’s done. 😎👍
Cheers m8 I’m starting to crack on and get it back on road soon thanks 👍
They had so many great cars in the 60's and this one is no exception! It's a very cool car! 😁👍
Awesome cars all round the world in the 50s/60s/70s/80s and 90s proper cars . In U.K. 90s cars are getting hard to find snd expensive
@@vwcoco same here. Everyone is buying all the 90's cars and they're getting hard to find and when you do find one they want an arm and a leg for it!
@kimberlywilliams9757 👍
Best of luck with your project once done you will have a very useful car with a massive boot.
Cheers yeah boot massive thank you
They are my favourite vauxhalls stunning cars

Hi thanks for comment 52 years old nearly . Are these standard wheels ? Interior ok . Yeah love these old victors 👍
Sorry to hear about your money troubles :(

Oh ok good to know thank you
Very cool car,, good idea to pull out the carpet and use it as template.
Yeah hung up in workshop to dry and ideal pattern 👍
@@vwcococertainly save it rusting more than necessary, should be a great little car, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
@@donaldhalls2189 👍
From the era when Vauxhall was known as Rustall.
Correct 👍
You would get a good nite sleep in the back with the seat folded down! Cool old rig!
Ha ha just my size
That Vauxhall is neat little car, glad the rugs are out for a good dry out. Makes for a better aroma inside the car too, cheers
Yeah I’ve hung up carpet in workshop and amount of water that’s came off is unreal. Maybe saveable as well . Floor breathing and drying now . Cheers
I got a very nice roof rack that might fit that and iv got a bead roller you can borrow if I can have a go in it ! 😂
Hi I’ve only a small vice bead roller but cool to see it with a rack 👍

I sure have . This one not too bad for a 61 year old U.K. car 👍
A gem. I restored a saloon version a few years ago, in this colour, too. Great patina, will look very cool.
Oh cool great cars thanks
Good for you in keeping her
Cheers nick back on it this week
