- People are saying that mages in general in terms of PVP, are performing poorly in the Season of Discovery Phase 2. Fire mage is crazy? However, we're not giving up. We would love to garner attention from developers and receive some buffs. Nonetheless, in 1v1 fights, Fire remains formidable.

For now mage is little bit weak, and we don't have much options in terms of runes. Soon we will get molten armor, but I think it's not possible to use it in pvp, because without Ice armor we will die with one ambush. They need to gave us spell steal at list so we can survive in various situations.

What is that weak aura/addon that shows the living bomb and other timers on enemy nameplates? Great video btw!!
It's Threat Plates setup with combination of bigdebuffs, but for now bigdebuffs isn't working, waiting for updates.
Loved it, mained arcane (even tho my gear is almost fire bis lol) all season but this made me want to go fire again.
also for ppl without the dagger just take 2 points off of ignite and blaste wave into elemental precision

As we know, community is always complaining about mage, so during Season Of discovery, mages are nerfed to much. Mage should be more powerful then it is now. According to this, Blast wave radius is also nerfed and it's can affect when target is very close to you. As I remember, blast wave is slowing target for 6 second and knocking back, but knock back is removed.
Frost is stil bis in pvp 100% nobody wanna lose their juicy ice barrier in pvp otherwise al mellee wil oneshot u

Frost spec with fire spell. Frost damage spell are total shit
You can use fireball as frost mage just for instant cast with Brain freeze proc, or bite another mage to use counterspell on your fireball cast so you can free cast.
I agree but we also cannot deny the fact priests and shaman rapes our ice barrier making our last frost talent useless

If you play fire get ina group with a boomy and a disc priest Power infusion and innervate, if you wanna survive then play frost P3 all spec will be viable am very strong
If I will play with healer that's different story, but I can never count on random BG healer, so playing frost mostly

You need to setup Threat Plates or Plater in order to track different or specific ability's. I'm always wasting lot of time to set this up, because even one mechanic can lead you to win during pvp. Before stepping to arena, you wanna make sure to set all the triggers, totems, macros, practice to adjust to interface and feel comfortable, because new settings will always take some time.

As fire you need little bit gear in order to get insta pyro blasts. More gear, more crit chance.

I’m getting wrecked in pvp
trying to sheep or shoot rank 1 frost bolt straight away, it's very important to slow down enemy. After rank 1 frost bolt>living bomb>scorch>fire blast to make him panic. When melee will get closer we need to cone of cold him in order to hold blink/nova and bite to use global. After that we need to trade nova/blink or even iceblock in order to keep advantage. It's very situational, but you must keep in mind that enemy must be always slowed and ranged should be always on maximum distance in order to avoid - stun/fear/root/life drain. It's like deadzoning them, when enemy is trying to come closer, move back and spam fastest ability (Rank 1 frostbolt/Blast/Rank 1 cone of cold). You need to always apply Ice armor and after fight with enemy(if he is caster) swap on mage armor, because it's gonna decries damage receiving. There are lot of situational moments which is difficult to say like this. Clip some video and let's review it together in discord(or screen share) and we can find out.

As an arcane mage pvp not a single fire mage can win vs me because i got improved cs…. a 4 sec silence mage vs mage is game over lol. However If theyre frost they can totally give me a fight due to shield and iceblock
Maybe you are right, but you missed important moment during arcane/fire and frost talents build. In fire and frost tree you can improve distance of your ability's 2/2 but you cannot do that in arcane tree, this might be range advantage and you might even didn't have a chance to use counterspell

Fire might have very hard time against shadow priest and sub rogue.
@@Levson Fair, but we can spec Arcane Surge and 1 shot anything with 0 counterplay. Currently 1 shotting Paladin's and Warriors with Arcane Surge + instant Blast.
Ye, but that is also dangerous if you are facing few targets, because you will be out of mana straight away and it's will be almost impossible to stay alive with mage if your mana is 0 :D
