I think Tyson was too heavy in this era and that hurt him. Along with not having Rooney back as his coach. He still had speed and power just not the same conditioning and that old peek a boo technique like the 80's.
James Brice The bobbing and weaving disappeared when he began to KO everybody without much effort, these two gave us a great fight but I don’t imagine what it would have been if they fought in 91 like they were supposed to, it could have been the fight of the century

No way was Tyson beating Holyfield on this night. He fought hard but Evander was out working and out muscling him, a great performance from the real deal
Donald Mac because he cheated and loved to head butt when he was losing. Great fighter but he had dirty tricks, and that’s why Tyson bit his fucking ear off 😂
I have to disagree. As good as their gas tanks were, they both took so much punishment in their fights. Wilder would land...and we all know what happens when Wilder lands.
Tyson fury would demolish both of Tyson and Holyfield. They would not be able to even touch him cus of the height and reach advantage. Also fury has 50pounds on them. baron jones I heard all this back then and you still living a lie 😂 he beat Mike Tyson ass
Every god damn seat is taken, 2 per seat. Holyfield is not afraid, he is kinda dude who can cut through Mike's childhood pain and make him a better person, his dominating force is godly
@Anthony Timmers He never took "roids"... Where do you kids get this bs? Your generation makes excuses for anything when things don't go your way. Some of us who watched all these legends are still around to know better about that "roid" bs you want to believe & excuse for the ass whooping Tyson recieved. Anyone can use the internet to look up & see that which they want to be true. But honest people use it to find the actual truth. You can learn that "roid" bs is a load of 💩 with a quick simple search & a bit of reading, son.

@Anthony Timmers your delusional an like i said u have shitty genetics while as these to fighters were the best in the world at this time. To be at the top of the mountain like that u have to have great genetics which u dont
That was sneaky how Steve Harvey cut up Tyson with a headbutt 😜
I never realized the extent to which Tyson caused the headbutt @5:55. Like, he REALLY leaned in there. He seemed to actually *aim* for Evander’s head with his own.
Exactly, people blame Evander but Mike was causing some of the headbutts too
@@SH-ij9qm Evander definitely had a habit of leading with his head, but it never seemed intentional to me. But that headbutt in particular seemed to be all Tyson.
I noticed that too.
@@tripillthreat i think evander could not always keep in mind that his head was bigger than average people
Man this fight hurt me to my core, it hurt to see Tyson backing away at the end retreating, but he still fought a hard fight, and is still one of the greatest ever!
He's one of the greatest 'characters' in the sport but he simply can't be one of the greats as a fighter fella.
He never showed he could overcome adversity, he lost whenever he was tested and in his era Holyfield and Lewis faced and beat far better competition.
I may critizise mike a bit on here but I really love that man and all he accomplished nowadays he comes across as wonderful conversationist and top company. Mike still is the youngest champion ever and probably always will be. Modern heavyweight legend.
@@bigdaddy4069 he still knocked out Larry homes who is an all time great and is the youngest heavyweight champion

Yes ,I dont much like or admire Tyson but Mike took a real beating and was still trying to land...it was awesome in its own right!
Agree guys though as nails
Wayangsiget
this fight proves that Tyson had a great chin
But Holyfield is a better fighter
An absolute Classic fight.
25yrs ago. Nov 9th 1996.
I still get goosebumps, along with an adrenalin rush, while watching the last 30secs of Round 10. Awesome!!
This has got to be one of the best fights.
There was 1 man in the world at this time that wasn't afraid of Mike Tyson. And he wore purple shorts.
David Stevens Iam a Tyson fan through and through, but Evander that night was the real deal ,total respect !!
This fight was planned before Tyson Douglus fight.
Who really won ?
Real
He was also probably on more steroids and gh than any other boxer lol.
Greatest heavyweight fight of the 90’s
we have to be honest and say this was a hard fight to judge.
Carlos Salazar nah I don’t agree I think Tyson had some moments but I feel holyfield got the better of him throughout the entire fight
@@SEDRICKHENDRIXTHEGAMERI agree, this fight had it all: Action, drama, history, and significance. One of these two men was going to leave the ring the best of their era.
@@carlossalazar5007 . צו ן8צ׳תל, ת׳
Yes I watched this fight, to me it was one of the best of the 90s
Holyfiled makes me think of joe Frazier a determination at all proof and both manage to endure the blows
I watched this fight back in 1996 and now in 2021 25 years later I'm Still enjoyed watching it as if it was yesterday 😊
Holyfield was eating punches from the Goat and was still standing.
back when boxing really was boxing
Scratching my head as to how he was able to do it? Most opponents would have fallen.
Tyson was done. He was ruined by Don King. In his prime he would have destroyed Holyfield. .
@@alienlife7754 Yep, Holyfield didn't fight a prime Mike Tyson.
@@artmv1149 Tyson didn't fight a Prime Holyfield either.
holyfield's chin and durability were off the charts
Evander says Big George Foreman was the strongest boxer he ever fought. 😳😅
👏💪
It always amazed me how light Holyfield looked on his feet. He really looked like he was floating between combinations.
In most Tyson's fights the moment you turn your head or get up the fight would be over, But this is boxing at its best 👊
The power of those punches they were hitting each other with... My God
T the baby
Or in Jim Ross's words....BA GAWD
Was thinking same thing. How did their heads not just pop off.
If those puches was hit to a normal person it is like you are hit by a car 1000x
@Jeffrey Phillips fck off
The most heart I've seen from tyson. Awesome fight. These guys weren't even in their prime and would kill today's heavyweight within 2 rounds
Those guys would be best suited at cruiserweight nowadays...no chance against those "super" heavyweight #seeLewisvsTyson

@@danieleparesce2271 lol well since cruiserweight limit is at 200 pounds...don't you think Tyson coudve shed that extra weight and at 5"11 wouldve been better suited with his reach 🤔 obviously were not talking about the "competition" he face in the 80's i was clearly referring to dominant big man from beyond that era.
Evander was in his best prime mike was kite on his prime if it was mike in the late 80’s mike would have won
Tyson was 30 and he said that he didn’t train for this fight stupid

Back then when this match happened, my small town became so quite cause everyone was watching this match!
As a 18 year old I always looked up to the old skool there would never be any boxers like this they were built different back then
Holyfield is a great fighter, no question. But there's also no question Tyson was not at his prime in this fight. Tyson's superb footwork and speed simply didn't come through that night. Congrats to Holyfield, but Tyson is a fuckin' legend 👊

@@charlesbronson4784 Without Rooney, Mike would have been KO too.
His association with Don King, wasn't helpful either. But, ultimately, I think Evander always had his number. Both amazing heavyweights, though. Great fight.
Mike was was not mike..if Mike was mike who moved side to side up and diwn like cuss taught him..he would have never lost a fight..ever..mike had the wrong people in his corner he lost his fire..he was doing drugs..having sex with everything that walked..mike was just a name and a bomb at this point..he had lost what made him special..his defence and counter punching...😒😒😒
Holyfield was really head butting and hitting below the belt, but he’s such a nice guy outside the ring people never believed he’d be a dirty fighter.. Great fighter, but a very sneaky head butter.
I mean Mike liked the elbows and headbuts too but i get what you mean
Tyson was the one leading with his head. Watch the 6:00 mark. That's a Tyson head butt. Holyfield was ducking a punch.

Not underrated by me. Holyfield is a bona fide great.
Donald Mac because he cheated and loved to head butt when he was losing. Great fighter but he had dirty tricks, and that’s why Tyson bit his fucking ear off 😂

He used his head more than his puch
So true!
These two warriors were heads above any of the fighters today, they would obliterate them.
Only boxer from the 90s who i Think would give Tyson a fair fight would be lennox lewis, lennox beat these 2 by the boxing iq and reach, using the jab, same as Tyson would
