2:55 looks like it needs more iron and most importantly it needs regular watering during the summer with rainwater - that's when it sets buds and it needs constant moisture to set them, this variety is prolific so don't give up on it:)

@vorong2ru Hi, thanks for watching. Yes definitely iron, I am fighting my soil ph no doubt in that area. I do amend it regularly with sulphate of iron and feed it with a pelleted food with chelated iron and manganese, it's in (was) in ericaceous but with all the rain we have had here in the UK that is a losing battle and only lasts a few months so I reapply often. I am mindful of the water requirements. I have considered a very large pot where I could control the medium better but trying it in the ground was a bit of a gamble/dream really lol. It's only the first year so perhaps I could persevere. I do love it, it's one of my favourites from the Nuccio Brothers so I don't want to give up on it, so sad they are closing down for good but a well earned retirement for sure, just a shame no one in the family want to carry the name on :( Donation, in the back garden is doing good although it is a constant battle fighting my soil but there is hope ! haha we are gardeners ! There's always hope :) Thanks again for the advice it's very much appreciated.

Loved the video LInda; so much going on. I didn't realise you have so many roses. I thought I had quite a few but you beat me hands down. I have some of the roses you have too so I'll be watching very carefully to see how they progress through the year. You talk about Aloha, and mine which I've had for several years now is never very vigorous and only grows to about 5 - 6 feet but did flower quite well last year. I think we'll all be pleased when the rain decides to give it a rest. You have David Austin and Peter Beales own roses. Have you ever visited their rose gardens? I have and they're lovely and certainly worth a visit. I look forward to your next look around. P.

@peterhaymaker7562 Hi Peter, thank you so much for watching it's much appreciated. Yes roses and clematis are my downfall I'm afraid haha I do love them, they are hard to resist. I've just come in for a coffee I've been out most of the day dividing hardy geraniums and feeding and mulching in the borders, the sun is shining so it's a bit of a marathon today to try catch up after all the rain :) Yes I'm not sure about Aloha, it was very slow to do anything last year so we'll see what this year brings. I would love to go to Peter Beales they have a wonderful garden display. I do watch youtube vids of tours people have posted there and it's definitely somewhere I'd love to go. I have been to David Austin it was fabulous and it's lovely to get up close to the roses, I fell in love with Emily and England's rose on the day, Elizabeth too, I really wanted that it was new that year but unavailable at the time. I'm sure whenever you go there's always one that steals your heart ! Thanks again for watching and do enjoy your wonderful garden this weekend, I could get used to no rain haha even my 16 year old dog Lewie is sat out with me today enjoying this sunshine, take care.

Always enjoy your garden tours Linda. Everything is springing back to life which is good to see. I do hope that we get some consecutive dry days soon as my grass is so squelchy and I can't be doing it much good by trampling all over it. It's been lovely here today and I think tomorrow is going to be nice too. I'm like you and love my roses and clematis. Hope Lewie has had a good day and it was reassuring to hear that he'd perked up yesterday. Enjoy the rest of Easter. x

@wendybartlett6717 Hi Wendy, thank you. It was a lovely day today I hope you had some sun in your garden. Your plug plants will enjoy this weather. I understand how you feel about your grass it's the same here - the grass here is in a dreadful state in some places. After that huge downpour yesterday we had puddles everywhere ! It does drain eventually but we really don't want any more big rain days do we :( The forecast looks good for tomorrow too, I think we might fire up the BBQ in celebration of two rain free days in a row haha is it any wonder the Yorkshire Dales are so green and lush, we do get our share of rain ! Happy gardening, take care x

Enjoyed watching that Linda. All looking great. That new bed I think will be amazing. Some great roses there I think. Why I like Elizabeth so much I don’t know but I do. And the others are just great performers. Our Beth I neglected her last year. In part sun but she didn’t do well. This year she’s still potted but she’s in sun. Hopefully she will do better. Your much steadier on the camera now than your first few videos and a great watch :)

@Jay_Jay Yes Elizabeth I am really looking forward to seeing her bloom, a beautiful rose. Our Beth did well for me last year in her first year from bare root so I think you should be fine if she gets enough sun, another lovely rose. Looking forward to some sun - I have had enough of rain now clay soil and lots of rain oh dear. haha remind me in Summer when I complain my water butts are completely empty again and I'm lugging watering cans all over the garden full of bath water ! 🤣

@@soulgirlktf oh yeah and aloha did do well for you I’m surprised I thought yours done ok. Mine done crap. Hardly any growth at all and only a couple of flowers. Even now she looks like a poor excuse for a brand new potted rose from the shelf. Let’s see if there’s any movement this year.

@@Jay_Jay Yes Aloha didn't do much for me last year I only had a few flowers but she's leafing out and looking good at the moment maybe she's a slow starter ? I always think I'm too impatient with climbers, I do know they can take a while to settle in but I still want flowers like NOW ! haha

@gavinparry5426 Hi, still have a lot of weeding feeding and mulching to do, I'm getting there but the rain is slowing me down :( Colette, no not seen it on sale here. I ordered Colette in December from the Netherlands. Great service, placed my order 27th December, think I bought 7 or 8 roses, they were here first week in Jan !

@@gavinparry5426 Hi Gavin, it's Rosarium Lottum in Lottum, Netherlands. The website is a bit basic but they delivered a great service very quickly and kept me informed, the roses I bought were excellent, very well packaged and well worth the extra shipping cost.

@@soulgirlktf Thanks Linda. Ive had a look but can't find Colette on their website ? They do have a Colibri ?
Ive just emailed them and had a very prompt response saying due to Brexit they no longer send to UK. Shame.

@@gavinparry5426 Hi, my error sorry, I just quickly googled Lottum roses last night I thought it was that one but there must be more than one with Lottum Roses in the title ! Confusing. I have looked at my order and invoice and its this one: www.rozenlottum.nl/en_GB/
