Here, Phoebe Bridgers - who appears on four songs from The 1975’s new album ‘Notes on a Conditional Form’ - performs their song ‘Girls’.

Tuning is as follows: From bottom string to top: A, E, A, C#, E, A. Capo 2.
Chords are x50300, 550300, 220100. Chords later on are x50800, 7x0800, 5x0800. There are some other chords which you can probably figure out from the video. Make sure your strings are accurately tuned or else it wont sound good.
Hey I’m new to changing to tunings other than open d and drop d. When tuning E an A, or the other transpitions, is it best to tune up or down?
@@Amouroso You'll want to tune down. The tuning is more comfortable for her because she uses a baritone guitar which is usually tuned lower than a normal guitar. If you're using a normal guitar, you can ignore the Capo 2 and tune B, F#, B, D#, F#, B so your strings aren't as loose.

LIVINGGG FOR ALL THESE ACOUSTIC 1975 COVERS
This is a really beautiful cover. Its faithful to the overall feeling of the OG while also giving it a totally different treatment. The part of the chorus where she says "she cant be what you need cause shes 17" is so so so good. Slowing it down and really giving weight to each word which is Phoebe's usual MO shifts the tone of the song and i think that works for these lyrics (probably better than some of her other covers)

Why does it feel like I'm at a buddhist monastery? This is really relaxing and the instrument sounds like gongs and chimes which I can meditate too.

part of why i love the 1975 so much is that most of their songs are lyrics that are, in a way, meant to be sung like this, but packaged into an upbeat facade that leaves it up to the listener to pause and dig deeper into what they're dancing to.

I think that's a baritone guitar, which has like 5 extra frets and a longer neck. but you should still. be able to figure out what she's doing from the video! I'll try and figure out what tuning this is
PSA everyone its just open d but tuned down 1.5 steps because it is baritone guitar
Don't learn her songs she uses a baritone scaled up then down tuned if you do that your strings can snap
