JUST PREORDED MY LEGENDS! Stoked! I donated all my Dwarves to my Brother in Law. I liked Dwarves because they were kinda like little vikings. Then I got REAL vikings. Happy Birthday to me.
Could you do a team development video for Norse, or one about random skills in general? I'm in two minds about starting with a random skill on 1st Valk and then picking a complimentary follow up skill depending on what I roll.
Great video! I think the roster costs are from a leak (Trips was looking at it in the podcast video). Also the 2RR Mix has 1 too many lineman for the maths to work.
Edit: The No Friends Roster - 9 Linemen, 2 Beer Boars, No Rerolls and field Hackflem AND Griff in the first game of the league if your opponent has at least 980 TV (and if you can pick starplayers from both rule groups). And then watch as suddenly no one in your league wants to be you friend xD /End edit Great video and thanks for being so fast at getting this out! Have yet too see someone comment on the Norse for sevens. Double Valkyrie and double Ulfwereners and 4 linemen id going to be really scarry! All those skills are going to make Valkyries reallt shine in sevens. At least that's my guess ^^
To me, valkyries can have two roles: cheerleader with leader to save money from a 3rd reroll, and ball sackers with wrestle-strip ball. I don't really see the need for 2 in a team unless you want them to farm spp by passing the ball to each other. So I guess I'll only take one that gets wrestle, then leader, then strip ball.
Before Ulfwerners & Yhetees, (when you could have 0-4 Blitzers) I took Tackle for my primary Secondary skill (1st earned skill) and they went all the way to the Championship undefeated, against my Skaven team & Won without much competition (after the Gutter-Runners got smashed off the pitch). I designed them to mostly target the faster teams with lots of agility. After that the hardest teams to face became the Chaos teams. I miss those days. I'm not really sure what I think about the newest Norse teams? I agree with your opinion on the Ulfwerners but I had a Minotaur (my most favorite) for my Big Guy. Definitely an interesting twist on the Team. However the Valkyries Team is the equivalent of the Old school Norse team & I'm curious what a game between the two would end up like?! Might have to run a league and find out for myself? 🤔🤔🤔☠️ Thanx for sharing.
You can find screen shots of the spike magazine if you look in the right place But in short players are the same cost as before, Valkyries are 95k, pigs are 20k, Ivar is 245, Skrorg is 250 and Thorsson is 170
@@Double_Dip they always release the datasheets after the preorder to build up the hype. You shall be able to buy it in the Moment youbthink "these are nice, i want them!". If they wouldn't be buyable then it would give you opportunities to rethink your decision ;-)
Need to get these boys ordered. Also realising in tournie play there is alot of fun to possibly be had given their special rules combination. Isn't like rocking a heap of blocker/thick skull mainly with a couple star players wouldn't be annoying
The 2RR mix is the one for me here. But as pointed out elsewhere in the comments, you can't actually afford the 6th lineman. UNLESS you swap the Yhetee out for a 2nd Valkyrie. Then you can play with your bench/apothecary options.
I think in the U.S and Ausralia the Norse team are up for order next week instead of this week... Not sure why... Dont shoot the messenger Im pretty sure Ben mentioned it in one of the recent videos
I would say no to a new player. The Frenzy on this team can really place you in compromising positions. The use of the Beer Boar is a very tactical, pre-planning piece. My suggestion for new players is Dwarves because they are very forgiving for rookie mistakes and Humans because of the skills and how they help the player learn the roles of the positionals.
I recommend either Orcs or Dark Elves for new players, depending on if you like to bash more or play the ball more, respectively. Norse wouldn't be a bad second team if you like both, but they do require a bit more knowledge of the game.
Man, if you like the idea of playing them, get em. After 10 games, whatever team you have will be fine for you. If you play against an experienced opponent to make remarks even better. Have fun!
They are fine. Starting with a Team with so much Block is pretty strong. Jeah you will have to learn how to handle "The frenzy trap"*, which is always a little risky, but even if you started a different Team, then u still have to learn this. *frenzy trap: what is this? Well, the skill frenzy forces you to follow up, if you roll a pushing result on you Block (or blitz) and forces you to Deal a secnd attack. On a open field this is nice, but if you got a Smart enemy, Who knows how to handle that, then you could run into this trap. He places his players in a square, so that their assists make this secnd Block to your disadvantage. In these Situationskomik you either need more players to change this calculating, or u spam rerolls, or you decide it would be better to not attack, instead. The Team has a potential to Start with 5 frenzy Player, so jeah u have to learn how to handle that, but when u know that Problem, then you will get used to it. So this will be a starting Roster which is fine for beginners.
Norse might not be the easiest team for a beginner to start with but it depends on the environment in which one starts out with them. In a resurrection tournament environment I think they are pretty great. In a long league they might be a bit frustrating. The reason for this is that the player are AG 3+ and AV 8+. Meaning that they are not an agile elf team that can reposition very easy to avoid heavy fighting but they still have just as bad or worse armour than the elfs. That in turn makes them fragile and they will suffer casualties and once you start losing players in a game you tend to lose even more. In a resurrection tournament that is totally fine. In a league where you end up losing expensive positionals in the first games could ruin your whole season as a new coach. Picking a more resilient team is probably better to minimise the risk of having a god awful first season and never wanting to play the game again. TL;DR The team isn't a bad newbie team because of how it performs on average in games but how punishing the mistakes can be when you have a bad game.
Since the box contains 6 linemen and 2 of all positionals except the yeti which isn't included you will not need a second box for any other roster except for one that includes more than 6 linemen. You probably want to get a yeti tho and that technically comes in a second box like most big guys. I can see someone running an roster with 0-1 valkyries, no yeti or bear boars and then you will need second box. And there is most def going to be someone running an all lineman build and that might even require three boxes if you want more than one reserv. Also if you start a league with a of roster of 2 valkyries, 2 Ulfwereners, 1 Yeti and 6 linemen you would need to use a second box if you want to buy a reserv lineman after the first game. However you could at this point use a berserker as a proxy for a lineman. These are imho unlikely to be the optimal for the minimax meta but before all the numbers have been crunched and tested it's hard to say for certain. TL;DR: Probably not unless you count the big guy as a second box.
No. There's a bunch of Norse teams that are far better looking than GW models, + the 3D Printed models allow you to truely customize your team in numerous ways?! 😈🏴☠️

Any plans to do the development episode for the Norse? I'm debating between orcs and Norse as my first league team.

I've pre-ordered the dice and spike, figured I could grab that now as the team itself aren't going anywhere anytime soon 😁
Does BB3 have Nuffle Altar? Inducement Norse with 11 Linos with Nuffle Alter is my favorite way to play.
Which would be your recommendation for a first-time coach? 3RR Yeti?
Which roster would you recommend for a new player?

Do we get a new college of heavens team discussion?

What do you think is better, apothecary or extra lineman?
@@johnmillar6820 I'd be more tempted to go with the extra line, but there's a good argument for having the apo as insurance against losing an ulf.
Boar-Buy is amazing idea. I like this one a lot!
I think about a heavy-blocking-12-player-build (995k):
1 Yethee
7 Linemen
2 Ulfwerner
1 Valkyrie
1 Beer Boar
3 RR
Can't wait to get these guys
Found my next team for league play!
Still can't find them on the US site. Wonder if it's too early still?

Should be able to get 3RR, and all the positionals (6 players), 4 linemen, and 1 pig; (11 players) for 980k.
If you goal is to give yourself the best chance to win I don't see a roster build without both Valkries.
How about this:
2 Valkaries
2 ulfwerners
1 beserker
5 linemen
1 boar
3 re-rolls
1 apothacary.
Kinda cool they are painted in IKEA colours and have meatballs on the box art.
Will you need 2 boxes for meta builds?
Since the box contains 6 linemen and 2 of all positionals except the yeti which isn't included you will not need a second box for any other roster except for one that includes more than 6 linemen. I was thinking 3RR no yeti, full positionals, 1 boar. Leaves 20k for dedicated fans.
Use the Beer Boar as your fouling player and save for Sneaky Git 😉 That's what I'll use them for as a secondary positional
Imho 3rd roster, with a valkyrie instead of a line and the boars is the best roster. Re rolls are wasted points
Are these the best looking Norse?
No. There's a bunch of Norse teams that are far better looking than GW models, + the 3D Printed models allow you to truely customize your team in numerous ways?! 😈🏴☠️
2 ulfs, 2 berserkers 1 boar 7 linemen 4 rerolls to start a league-I'll let you know how it goes
Its kind of stupid that the game allows to fire the beer boars. People will just buy them to fire them to get the better loners. Kind of sad
Anyone who would do that to the boars doesn't deserve to have them 😤
