Mighty Blow doesn't do anything to the injury roll for Thralls because it only applies if the opposing model is knocked down as a result of a block action (even as part of a blitz or special action) made by the player with Mighty Blow. Bite isn't a block, so it doesn't apply, just like it doesn't apply if an opponent rolls a skull vs. the Mighty Blow player - the latter didn't make a block, so no MB.
I haven’t played BB in years but last year I converted the Crimson Court underworld vampires into a team with some Empire men-at-arm thralls. I had no idea there would be different vampire players and I had cut up their hands to remove their weapons. Now they’re kind of perfect for these new rules.
Great guide! Cannot wait to see more videos of starting roster options and set-ups! Also i'd love a guide of hypnogaze technics for dummies cause I see a lot of potential in that ability. 😵💫😵💫
I don't see why there would need to be an FAQ to see if Mighty Blow affects the Blood Lust bite, as Mighty Blow activates when a opposition player is knocked down by a block.
16:30 : Chance on failing Bloodlust (2+) with Pro is aorun 1in11: either you fail the BL and the Pro (1/6*1/3) OR your fail the BL, make the Pro and fail the second BL (1/6*2/3*1/6). Add those two scenarios together and you get 9.26% or 1 in 10.8. so you still about half the maount of times you fail it. really good
i am sure Ben will make a video with more explanations but some possible teams with 600k for sevens are: - 3 Vamps (min. 1 Runner), 4 Thralls and 1Rerolls (you can drop one Vampire for more Thralls here) - 1 Vamp, Vargheist, 5 Thralls and 1RR - 9 Thralls and 2RR or drop the reroll for additional Thralls or a Vampire
just started a new league playing vamps, did my 2nd game murdering wood elves (thats good) same 1 got murdered by undead (thats bad) 1 turn 1 killed 3 thralls with bloodlust lol. hypnogaze and elf level shennanigans is amazing :)
Mighty Blow won't work on Bloodlust. It reads: "When an opposition player is Knocked Down as the result of Block action performed by this player, [...]." So, nothing in Mighty Blow applies in the Bloodlust skill.
I've played a good deal of games with vampires and they tell me to steer away from Vamps for a League. They are incredibly powerful, however this comes at the expense of your thralls. It really only takes one bad game to see your team injured and bankrupt from replacing the dead guys. Awesome team, great concept, could be fun in a tournament setting, but the first season or two for Vamps would be really rough.
Ahhh the classic take pro or block/dodge first. Pro is always so tempting because of it’s versatility. Yet, if you really know the vamps purpose….then block or dodge gives a slight edge? What’s peoples thoughts?
Im legitimately excited. I am one of those people that wishes i coupd have a third party paint my figures though. Its not a good thing i know. But that just means im all about the game and lack an artist's touch!
I can see turnovers galore with this team. Any block without a thrall next to them, will need to be aborted and dodge away, to go snack if you roll a 1. Even more risky for the vargheist or if surrounded. Definitely a difficult team to run successfully.
Bloodlust says can't pass till you bite at the end of your activation Running pass says you can pass and move after so do you think running pass or fumbleroiski can be used after a failed bl faq needed maybe
Running Pass is really hard to say, but I think you're alright with Fumblerooskie? It's not a pass, handoff, or touchdown so I don't see why you couldn't use it on the way to bite a thrall.
This is going to be a difficult team to play. I can imagine situations where a runner is pinned next to the sideline with the ball on the floor and a thrall the other side. You fail bloodlust and have to get to the thrall with many risky dodges. It basically will equate to trying to hard to hurt your own team and give the opponent a leisurely time to pick up the ball
Mighty Blow: "WHen an OPPOSITION Player is Knocked Down as the result of a BLOCK action performed by this player..." So MB definitely doesn`t work with Bloodlust , thank god. With Animal Savagery it works, because it specifically says so in the Animal Savagery Skill description.
"Players that are Prone or Stunned, or that have lost their Tackle Zone for any reason, cannot use any Skills or Traits unless otherwise stated in the Skill or Trait description" Pg. 74 of the core rulebook
Pro can also be used to reroll hypno gaze which makes it doubly useful on vamps
And there's a decent chance they'll be getting two die blocks, which is another good place for Pro.

Just activate the Vargheist last. Then it doesn't matter how many Thralls he's in contact with, unless you really needed his tackle zone.
currently 3:1 in 2nd place with vamps in the local league. Runners especially are amazing.

Great video! Running Vamps in my next league that just began. It would be nice to have a video about formations! Regards

There is a rule on animal savagery that the opponent can choose to have the rat ogre's MB affect the allied strike or not.
@@Silith13 I know. But that's a different skill. Rules-as-written is 100% clear it wouldn't apply to Blood Lust.
yeah better not ask them at all, as FAQ often is actually making game worst.
@@Silith13That had to be errata'ed in.
Just got into the game with some friends. Im looking to field this team for our first league. Very nice video :)

And if you pass bloodlust you have pro for hypnotic gaze or a single die on a two dice block.
It's 2/27.
If / When you have the time, would like to see a 7's Guide please? Thank you. Regards
I would go 2 Blitzers and 2 passers. I think the max roster size is 11 if I recall, so 7s thralls.

Hey - where can I find the Vampire Lord rule in detail as it isn't in the core rules book?

Please do a "Top 5 Pitches" video. With GW or 3rd party.
I got a vamp box, a vargheist, and Luther. Hope that’ll be enough. Guess I can always proxy my old human team if I need more thralls.
Great vid! Any chance we'll get some 7s specific guides and rosters?

I’ll go block/dodge/guard/ MB. Probably one with block +MB and the other Guard+Dodge to make a hunting duo

Not a bad thing at all! It's your hobby, you should feel free to engage in, or not engage in, any aspects you like.
Still hoping for a Spike 16 leak so we can find out who they will play for in dungeon bowl.
Sorry to say… it’s College of Death! Need to double check the Varg though!
Is that player development video ever coming?
Have you talk about their "vampire lord" team hability? To get thralls at the end of the match if you have killed someone.
Have you watched the video before asking that question?

That’s always been the case, vamps are not a beginner team.
I can't remember what the old blood lust rule was, but yeah, I know they were not for the faint of heart ;)@@madscientist916
I'm playing a Vamp team on Monday. I'm using a developed Nobles team. Any advice? Last game was a late 2nd half 2-2 Draw
Am I simply missing the video or have you not yet created a Vampires 2023 starting formation video??
Any chance this gets updated now that you've played a season? This video seems like u were guessing
I didn't think an Apothecary would work on Vampires as they are undead. The Apo is just for the Thralls isn't it?
Please put this team into BB3 yesterday
Does Pro work when prone?
Good question. Rules as written i think no, there is nothing in the pro rule that states there is an exeption at work here.
No
Why is the volume if every video always mixed wrong?
This time I have the volume all the way up, and still can't hear him

230k for Captain Carina and 190k for Ivan.

16:55 Pro is very useful for Hippo Gaze attempts.
With potential Turnover I would consider using the TRR. Rather than maybe 3+.
I would rarely use Pro to stop a Turnover, but I would use it to prevent having to make an Injury roll against a Thrall.
