2019 Joaquin Phoenix getting all the rave reviews for Joker and rightly so but for portraying decent into psychotic, violent madness Michael Douglas nailed it 26 years ago. This film is incredible.
This film was highly underrated. That Joker film was too overhyped. People hyped it up cause many are brain dead millennials and gen-z who don't like watching many films before 2000s.
All these films have been done before. This was a classic, it was actually entertaining and there was something a bit more noble about this Douglas character. The only thing the movie Joker has going for it is the discussion it creates about going into madness,, and even that's been hijacked by the political establishment for "mentally ill" propaganda.
Man, I love this film. Perfectly captures the everyman's frustration with this messed up world. And this, how annoying it is when the actual food doesn't even match the picture.
They don't show you the rest of the scene so it lets you imagine what happened. But he never killed anyone here and paid for the burger. I can only extrapolate that the boy said "it's not what it looks like "

Funny thing is that the Tec-9 in real life is exclusively not select fire and really just a shitty cheap pistol, but the fact that so many movies portrayed it as a automatic killing machine (plus it was used in Columbine) meant that it's pretty much banned everywhere.

She seems to enjoy the argument between him and her boss - I suspect she doesn't like her boss - but it looks like she sees it as an amusing tussle between dorks livening up her monotonous day.

When they start to make a exception for him, they need to start to make another exception for the next guy that comes in after 11:30, then they need to make another exception for something different because they made on for the 2 customers before etc. Rules would become pointless. This would mean the whole world is going full anarchy leaving only chaos and destruction behind. That's why there can not be served any breakfast after 11:30 for anybody!
@Padarc but it was clear by the time he entered the establishment, and from when he looked at his watch, it wasn't 11:30. he made it before that time frame, but by being told no, which lead to the conversation with the manager, it passed 11:30. if they simply said yes, hed be before 11:30

'Dombiwali Fast' is a Marathi language movie inspired (not copied) by Falling Down. It's a good movie in itself and uses local context very well. Also, it introduced me to this gem of a movie in Hollywood.

He made Phone Booth after Batman, that was pretty good. I'm in the minority but I love Batman Forever, it's my second favourite Batman film after the 1989 film. B&R really wasn't his fault, WB wanted something kid friendly and could sell toys, and that's what he gave them.
I know these comments are pretty old, but I just want to add - I hate how all of the comic movies have moved toward 'adult' themes. I started to watch "Logan" with my kid, thinking it was gonna be another X-Men movie, and I'm not sure how they even squeezed that into an R rating. Let Batman and other movies stay for kids, without shitting all over them.
One of Michael Douglas' finest performances. He's brilliant in playing both out his inner turmoil and outer rage. Amazing, deep and thought provoking. He acts the way we feel.
Aside from being both funny and sad, there is also something absurdly real about this movie that just eats away at you. The frustration of seeing all the wrongness around you but without any way of doing anything about it. Michael Douglas aces this role.
I love this movie so much! I really missed the 90's movies. Going to watch a couple good old 90's flicks again! They had a whole different feeling to them!
Here is an interesting tidbit for you. This film came out 1993, but we filmed it the 2nd day of Rodney King's rioting 1992.. Our burger place and across the street holding area (lunch, trucks, makeup truck, etc) both were surrounded by the National Guards. Thank you to them! we felt safe.

Kind of sucks to think how Batman ruined Joel Schumacher's career when you look back at movies like this and The Lost Boys.
He made Phone Booth after Batman, that was pretty good. I'm in the minority but I love Batman Forever, it's my second favourite Batman film after the 1989 film. B&R really wasn't his fault, WB wanted something kid friendly and could sell toys, and that's what he gave them.

I know these comments are pretty old, but I just want to add - I hate how all of the comic movies have moved toward 'adult' themes. I started to watch "Logan" with my kid, thinking it was gonna be another X-Men movie, and I'm not sure how they even squeezed that into an R rating. Let Batman and other movies stay for kids, without shitting all over them.

Aside from being both funny and sad, there is also something absurdly real about this movie that just eats away at you. The frustration of seeing all the wrongness around you but without any way of doing anything about it.

Here is an interesting tidbit for you. This film came out 1993, but we filmed it the 2nd day of Rodney King's rioting 1992.. Our burger place and across the street holding area (lunch, trucks, makeup truck, etc) both were surrounded by the National Guards. Thank you to them! we felt safe.
