Since you mentioned it, you probably recently watched the film with mum and dad or something. Stuck in your brain, see a character that has the same socks as another guy in another film "Hey that guy looks like another guy lol" Yeah same socks right? What about underwear? they got the same underwear? maybe same pocket pouch?
Dom, I don't think you know what a psychopath is. He's definitely unhinged from frustration and stress and all he wants to do is relieve that stress by seeing his daughter. The point is that he does not have to confront these people. He could simply walk on. However, he chooses to act; chooses to indulge in his frustrations. He's the anti-hero and we sympathise with his pain and yet we understand that what he is doing is wrong but justified.
Dom Trussardi 1) He has no remorse because he believes that those who wronged him were deserving of retribution. However, he showed concern when he saw blood on that little girl's hand later in the film and moved to shield the boy after misfiring the bazooka. 2) I have no counter to this. Everything that happens in the film is because of this. However, it can be explained as a cathartic release of frustration. 3) You will have to elaborate. All he wants is to do is see his daughter. He's a lunatic and definitely unhinged mentally but not for nothing.
Now a days kids get their military knowledge from games like COD but I forget this was made in the early 90's so it's still amazing how that kid is teaching him how to use that rocket launcher.
Brandon Rea This weapon was made back in the 70's when a major multi-theater Soviet advance was expected. These weapons were designed to be used by virtually anyone. They are like the panzerfaust that the Germans designed in WWII. Literally, anyone could use it. The LAWS was an American version.Look at the clip again,if you would. This thing is stupid simple.
We have reserves in our army for that reason and in the US theres mandatory training for all weapons gear and tactics so "highschool dropouts" are made into warriors, these weapons where made stupid simple so they could be made on a assembly line in case of Russian invasion and because there made on a assembly line it needed to be simple

I love this movie. It's the quintessential story where a character says and does what every sane, law-abiding citizen is thinking and wishing they could do but of course won't.
There disturbing thing is how many think that this movie justifies violent insurrection rather than being a study of mental illness and failure in the modern world. No, not everyone does have a breaking point.
@@capitalb5889 ...You sure about that? Modern society sucks. It fails because those in control have ruined it, and it leaves the individual with no power but almost all of the blame. The individual is kept down and depressed with little to no knowledge on how to live except on how to go into debt and become a wage slave. It is our right and our duty to break it into pieces that can be put back together in a more worthwhile and responsible way. It is even worse if you don't have a way to reach as high as some others, and then the.platform that one stands on becomes unstable, and any ladder they have to reach up to is then removed or taken higher.

It's what happens when a politician stays in office way too long. They always become corrupted and start using public funds to hire a 'friend' that has a construction business in exchange for campaign money in this example. People like Mitch McConnell and Nancy Pelosi who've been in Congress 30+ years make me sick. They gain too much power and blackmail freshman Congressmen who really want to make changes.Term limits, ban lobbyists and make it mandatory public servants cannot be Masons or belong to a 'secret society'. I bet 80% of corruption would be done with immediately.

William didn't really care about the kid. The reason he told him to back up was because William was pretending to be an filmmaker trying to fire a rocket.
There is also a very statement about how genuinely nice William is to the kid and his genuine concern for his safety after he fires early. Also, I wonder if the kid ever found out he assisted someone in blowing up a job site possibly killing several people
How do you know CGI was not involved ? CGI was created in 1972 and the first film to use it was in 1987 “ flight of the navigator “ and this movie came out in 1993 . So again how do you know CGI has not been used ?
It's implied that this construction work is valid. The guy at the front is sitting down, but he's just there to make sure people don't walk into the construction zone or fall into any holes. He only says that there's nothing wrong after he sees the gun. He's just telling him what he wants to hear to calm him down.
Being fair, if people did what he did when that happened, the bankruptcies and closings of Sears and Toys R Us would've resulted in the extinction of the entire united states, given how much damage just *one* disgruntled guy was able to cause XD And those were way worse, since they lined the pockets of the vulture capitalists who bought the companies to strip them for parts and intentionally make them fail, rather than just being contractors.
The fact that this kid thinks it’s all a movie terrifies me because after he got home he must’ve found out about all the killings of the “D-FENS” and remembered he literately helped him blow up the sewer

Does anyone notice that the rocket launcher is aimed like at the ground when he goes to shoot it? Or does the missile actually 'heat-seek' like the Nazi said it did?
They don't arm as soon as they launch (intended to prevent the shooter from being blown up from incidents exactly like this) therefore it probably bounced then continued on
The M-72 LAAW is unguided, if it did that (more than likely would just embed in something IRL) it would be the result of it just bouncing off shit down there until it hit something front on. Though I'm not sure if it works like an RPG does. An RPG will detonate the first thing it hits. There are some humorous anecdotes about ANP guys taking the caps off RPGs to have them ready to go and american soldiers put them back on when they aren't looking. There's also reports of people running without the caps on the striker of the RPG and then tripping, the RPG slides striker first into a curb, and no more ANP.
I like that he's crazy and angry enough to cause mass hysteria and menace the city, but still has enough compassion to instantly try to shield the kid when he accidentally fires the rocket launcher at the ground

It's God's way of telling you that you're wasting your time and money on a modern college "education". Go to trade school or become and apprentice. Learn how to build or fix things. You'll always find work.
We had the same corrupt crap in Erie where for over 8 months a construction company was “fixing” a rather small part of interchange road. It took so long that local tv media did a segment on it because their vans had to go through it every day and they thought something was up. Next day construction ends.
I know plenty of areas where they constantly dig up the road, put lights up everywhere and do nothing. This scene is very accurate to how many companies opperate and certain industries fabricate work to keep themselves employed. Unions do their absolute best to prolong jobs an long as humanly possible to keep the overly inflated jobs of its workers. They’ll tear up the road, leave it as is for months, then come back and fix it over months when it shouldn’t take more than a week. In countries without unions an entire 3 lane highway bridge that needed to be replaced was deconstructed and a new one was constructed properly and safely in less than a week. Without unions it’s amazing how quickly jobs get done

You're a gamer I see, why not play the Polar Express video game? its on the ps2 and stuff. Unless you already have.
Saw this joke a few years ago, feel old yet?
"I'll give you something to fix" 😄
Gets me every time lol
Love this guy. He is kind compassionate and he is a real hero.
He's not a bad guy, he just lost it.
Oldeuboi It's the people around him. You notice everywhere he goes someone wants to have a confrontation with him.
Dom Trussardi
1) He has no remorse because he believes that those who wronged him were deserving of retribution.
Dom Trussardi Fair enough. He's a complex and interesting character in a great film. Thanks for being cordial. Cheers!
That's the whole premise of the movie.
The smile on the kid's face is just excellent. It makes the whole scene.
@hey it's pete ok
Now a days kids get their military knowledge from games like COD but I forget this was made in the early 90's so it's still amazing how that kid is teaching him how to use that rocket launcher.
+Lone Wolf It's really not that difficult. Read the instructions. These weapons were made to be operated by high school dropouts. Scary, huh?
+Clark Liberty Or Maybe It Needs A Simple Firing System Like A Gun To Be Light Enough To Be Fit In A Backpack Instead Of Lock On Or Something Heavy
Brandon Rea
This weapon was made back in the 70's when a major multi-theater Soviet advance was expected.
I think he learned it from Rambo.
This is such a fantastic movie, the way Michael Douglas portrays the character of a man on the edge is how we all feel sometimes. All the obstacles that come his way he negates them how he sees fit.
Douglas thought years ago in an interview that the movie was ahead of it's time. He was right; it's aging really well!
*This movie in 1993* : no one cares.
*The Joker in 2019* : medias screaming that deranged individuals will go crazy watching this movie.
That's not wholly true; if you check out the film's Wikipedia page they list some controversies it was linked to.
@@michaeldorsey9231 Some controversy is a bit different from FBI and military issuing urgent warnings ahead of the movie and cities deploying police units for several theatres.

This is by far one of the most underrated movies. Every man has a breaking point.

Right because you know the intimate details of the project and the needs of all of the parties involved? I swear every time the road gets worked on or a pipe bursts or a traffic jam occurs everybody magically becomes an expert on the matter.

If he kept his cool for just a few more years, then they could've put him back to work in the farce against terror. DFens!

Unions do their absolute best to prolong jobs an long as humanly possible to keep the overly inflated jobs of its workers. They’ll tear up the road, leave it as is for months, then come back and fix it over months when it shouldn’t take more than a week.
