Thank you so much for this video! I’ve been active all my life and it’s been frustrating to have been told that I have osteoporosis. I’m so glad I found your channel. You are inspiring and motivating and your videos are so helpful to me. I can feel my body getting stronger! Sending you much encouragement on your own health journey.❤

    Hi Jessica,
I was so pleased to see this video. I have been using your channel for over a year now (after searching for prolapse safe exercises), and am no longer doing 'beginner' exercises. I have a diagnosis of osteopaenia but had thought that if I was careful and built up gradually, I could do most of the exercises in your videos. Having done my research, I now realise that by doing spinal flexion exercises I could be doing damage even without any symptoms. Unfortunately I hurt my back recently doing a crunch. I know that many of your pilates videos ARE safe for osteoporosis - but it would be great if you could include modifications for unsafe exercises from time to time, as you do for beginners or other conditions. Thanks again for a really helpful video.

Thank you for your rationale in every movement YOURE doing ,so people like me can take it to heart. I actually enjoy your explanations rather than those channels that just play loud music with no explanation, maybe they don’t know the rationale of their movements. Thanks keep up your good work. Yay, no flexion! So many exercise videos for lower back pain contain movements that make things worse, not better. I agree with a previous commenter that your videos are safe for us, yet also build strength and muscle density. Thank you for your videos and thorough instructions, especially when to inhale & exhale! Hope you are healing well from your recent surgery.

Thank you. I appreciate your explanation of not only how to do a movement, but how it will help in daily life. You are always encouraging in helping find acceptance of where we are at on any particular day and to be grateful and proud of what we have done on that day. To me, that is a huge gift. ❤

Thank you!!! I needed this workout! I’ve been doing Pilates for 15 years and became a certified teacher last summer but was diagnosed with severe osteoporosis last fall:(
The modifications I personally need to do look nothing like the class I teach…wondering what you think about neck pull and teaser with osteoporosis? Thank you again…so happy to have found you❤️

Hi Jessica, as I prepare for my mat test out, I have a question about one of the exercises as osteoporosis questions will be in the written exam. In the end of the video you did some side bends…lateral flexion. Is it that the amount of flexion here is minimal and therefore ok? I remember in my training that the instructors were sort of like yes you should avoid this with osteoporosis, but the reality of movement and life is that you might still have to be able to manage small amounts of flexion…and that there is research emerging suggesting that this may be the case. Or something similar to that. Are you able to chip in on this some?

Are these safe if you have kyphosis due to severe wedge fractures at T 6/7
    My back is so painful
I do have severe osteoporosis and have lost height
I also have very severe emphysema and I’m told kyphosis can start to affect breathing and abdominal pain which I’m having discomfort in my abdomen already
My dexa scan for hip was /3.8

Do you have osteoporosis/prolapse safe exercises? Some osteoporosis exercises are not always safe for prolapse issues. Most of he exercises you showed look pretty safe, just wondering if you have anymore suggestions?

    • @JessicaValantPilates
      @JessicaValantPilates  2 месяца назад

I have many workouts that are safe for prolapse and many that are safe for osteoporosis. The important thing is that you know and understand the specific restrictions you have for your individual condition! Once you know that you can work through the movements that are appropriate for you. I have podcast episodes about how to workout safely with a prolapse as well.

Too much talking - not enough demonstration.

    • @JessicaValantPilates

You are welcome to find another instructor who doesn't talk or explain as much! I am a talker as I find it helpful to understand and feel empowered in movement. Also, I do respectfully disagree that there isn't demonstration. I actually do the entire workout with you in this routine showing you everything! Best wishes to you.

I do not agree with you. I am grateful Jessica explaines everything in detail. It is important to learn proper technique of the movements. Later, you can just watch the video without the sound or do the exercises on your own.
