I have not encountered a better music selection supporting a woodworking video. Great music for any-dang-thing, really. But, such a well thought out pairing to watch wood being worked. So many woodworkers on youtube maintain a keen eye for design and an admirable dedication to the craft and quality of the art, and clearly devote hard work to create videos. With that said, I think an overwhelming number of said mechanics must have had bananas stuck in their ears when they paired their music to otherwise such well worked videos. Nice work. Good ear. Thanks
The fact that you are playing jazz bass and drums is something different. Thanks ok piano too. Dig that. When I play jazz on work site at times it's met with stone ears ........ thanks for a little inspiration with the perspiration.....
I wish this design could be purchased. I saw some other designs on your website but was disappointed when this one wasnt on there. This is my favorite bench build I can find on RUclips but I don't feel confident in taking it on without any plans 😬
I like how you attached the top to the legs. I'd been thinking of using that method but hadn't found it in practice. I like the 'double wedge' in contrasting woods, very nice indeed.
@@Benham_Design Nice choice. 🙂 I hope you don't mind, but I may pinch a few of your ideas, especially the Japanese style. I am working on a dedicated guitar stool and matching guitar stand. I am not sure about whether to have it combined (imagine the old telephone seat/table with the shelf for the phone book), or separate. I guess the final design will dictate my decision..
Man I've watched a lot of your vids now and you're bad ass at woodworking man. Total inspiration. Good choice in tunes as well and I'm metal head but it works and I like it. :D
Very nicely done. And a good idea to revive - I don't see this kind of joints too often these days. Some Italians still do it but they are way too expensive. But you are leaving so many things out! 2:05 How did you make that... is that called a mortise? The "lip" with 1's written on it. How did you cut that big hole that you're finishing with the chisel? 2:46 How did you make those triple "tongues"? Are they called tenons? They were fun to do, I'm sure, and I'd watch them being done. :-( Don't know about others but I watch these to see how the thing is CRAFTED. No nails, just meticulous woodworking. And for the entire thing I'm so strangely split. I love the seat, especially the texture and the color of the wedges. But the "legs" seem a bit too dark and the grain seems different. It's the same wood, right? Must be the lighting. Still an amazing job. Like it.
Man this is great. I really love the look of the wedged tenon. I've been interested in traditional joinery for a while and seeing stuff like this really makes me want to get into my shop and try some things. Nice work!
So elegantly simply but what a show of joinery! I'll bet the client considers it quite a showpiece. The wedged tenons canted to the vertical are really pretty. I wonder if you thought about cutting the mortises on the slant instead and then locking the frame up with the wedges on the stretcher ends?
I want to do an angled mortise into the seat portion, at least that is my design thought at this point for a small Japanese stool or presentation stands...
Very nice design. Love the high tech packing paper CAD system you used for laying it out. Would love to know who the awesome piano player is that comes into the sound track around 4 minutes in.
I have a saw like the one you used to cut your boards to the right lenght. The problem is that i really dont catch why it has the posibilty to turn the whole head with the sawblad 90 degrees till being horizontal and also the column can in theory mover to make +/- 45 degrees crosscuts. Is there any instructional video for taking the best from that kind of saws? I mean, is a really nice tool: Is sturdy, strong.... but is really big and ocupies a lot of space in my very small workshop.
Brian Benham Damn! Lol...You'll have to give it to me bro, I'm a poor guy! Lol...Have a blessed day, subbed and look forward to seeing more great work...Shalom

I like how you attached the top to the legs. I'd been thinking of using that method but hadn't found it in practice. I like the 'double wedge' in contrasting woods, very nice indeed.
