- This pattern helps you build a small round shield from foam and leather. I recommand having some experience with veg. tanned leather already. This shield is about 52 cm in diameter, 3 cm thick and weights 2 kg, which is more on the heavy side but is is very stable and has no need for a wood core, so you are good to go an charge your opponent.

- 15 mm thick soft foam
- 2 D-Rings optional, 20 mm (4/5 inch) inner width

Love the use of mixed materials. I've had good luck making the buckler by shaping wet leather in between two nested bowls.
Good idea, thanks, will keep it in mind :)
Man, I don't know how you can skive with that safety skiver!?! I have NO luck with it at all! Well done. I hope to start stitching the helmet this weekend! 🤞
Thank you :) sometimes the safety skiver is a bit sketchy but with a sharp blade and the right angle you are good to go.
Well it is the two of us sowing a helmet at the weekend :)
most excellent
Thank you very much 😋
