As someone who is young, impressionable, and most importantly, has not hit the age of 25 yet, Beau has been an incredible inspiration to me in many ways. Much love.
Beau you and your wife appear to be handling a tough stage of life with grace. I have three, two of whom are under three years, and it’s so hard every day. Your ideas about backyard adventuring have been a huge inspiration to me with my own kids, so just remember you can make an impact on your family and your wider world even when it feels like you’re getting slaughtered. Let’s hang in there together!
Thank you for joining us Beau and Helen, to say it was a pleasure to have you stay is an understatement! To many more adventures 🙌 Love, Tara, Steve and The Pods Ride Crew
I turned 46 6 months ago. I can confirm that it does get easier even with a 6 and 2 year old. I’ve just realised that this is my lot and instead of being unhappy with what I haven’t got got I’ve become grateful for what I have got.
Wow. Good luck. Hang in there and remember you control how you react to a situation. Don't let the situation control you. I'm 47 but both of my kids are grown but I still remember those tough early years.

Hey Beau, would you be able to share the study you read? Would love to read it thanks! Thanks for the great content, it's helped me a lot through my depression, a parttime Master and a job change last year or two.
Gracing Brisbane with your presence anytime soon Beau? Thanks for another great video. A solo parenting 31 year old dad of an energetic 2 year old boy (wife’s been away for work for almost 3 months).
Helen is not an ex-mountain biker. She IS a mountain biker! She knows what she is doing. Coming from a life long mountain biker. Great video Beau. Hope you both start finding things a little easier soon:)

Beautiful words Bo. Moved a middle-aged man to tears. And I'm giving my wife an extra long hug when she gets home from work tonight. Thanks for making these films.

As a 30 single man I have not cried as hard at a RUclips video in my life. Beautiful story and honesty Beau. One day I hope to find someone half as good as either of you. Thank you for your channel and your heart.
Beau i am close to turning 45. I absolutely love your storytelling. A genuine love for life, looking at life through honest eyes. Taking on incredible, challenging, and just plan old adventures. Hats off to you my friend!

My teenage years and twenties so far have been devoid of abuse or addictions thankfully so I really can't imagine, but I was homeless for 6 months and these years have generally been very lonely and trying. Full of the lack of confidence feeling behind everyone else brings in my twenties, and as a teen not fitting in at all. I honestly can't wait to enter my 30s and you inspire me. Adulthood means control, when you're young you have none, you're at the mercy of a world that tells you to sink or swim. Doesn't care about your young adult problems, invalidates them at every turn. Your life sounds wonderful and I'm glad you're with us.
Thanks Beau. I just shed a few tears. You put that beautifully, and I appreciate the wisdom you have for your wife's life. Ah children, long days short years. All will be well if you both remain true to your path. Peace Nx
Loved the film...as an old man I'd say enjoy it all...one day and it will come way too soon the kids will have flown and you will look at your partner and say WHERE THE HELL DID THE TIME GO.

Any parent/ father that somehow has clicked and watched this will find comfort here. I had a tough year with young kids and had these same thoughts, but also thought I shouldn’t complain…. Such comfort knowing someone as hardened as Beau had the same feelings. Thanks for the video, legend.
I love the encouragement for your wife to take care of herself, very few moms get time to themselves, much less any encouragement to actually take care of themselves during that time from their spouses! It's so lovely to see
Gearing up for our second baby in the next few months. My wife continues to astound me with how much she does, but I'm usually left with the feeling that my appreciation is just scratching the surface. Thanks for providing the encouragement I didn't realize was needed until hearing it.
As a tired 45 year old mom of three boys under 13, I feel this in my soul. Started going away for a week backcountry with no cell reception with a friend. Best thing I’ve ever done. Gives a chance to stop overthinking about all the things needed to keep life moving and has allowed me to remember who I am.
Have a 13 & 11 year old here, at 42, life is busy, but in a different way, I remember the days of babies and toddlers, you definitely are in survival mode at times, it gets easier, enjoy each other, make sure you and Helen get to fill your cups too, great video, always enjoy the content. Cheers. 😊
Thanks for sharing this Beau! What a guy you are amazes me! Your insights are so true. I‘m through the 25-45 rough patch, as a matter of fact I‘m 58. I can assure you that certain things do get easier because at some point a „whatever“ mentality sets in. No more social pressure. But I always say that life in general is hard. Nothing really prepares you for it, which is why we shouldn’t judge if someone fails or just isn’t as good at it. In any case, you have a beautiful family and a very healthy perspective on things. Enjoy it!
The title and short description set the expectation that his wife died and he will be finally moving on after a year of depression and drinking while praising the person that she was. Well, I'm glad that this is something else entirely.
This makes me cry. I am crying. Just today we are planning a logistics how to pick up my Boyfriends new MTB tomorrow. I am tyred, I have no alone time without our baby. I want some recognition for the keeping the house running, feeding them both. I am thirsty, I dont drink enough water :( So it feels really good that at least one wife on the other side of the world gets here day in woods, love and a second proposal ♥
You might be struggling with sleep but trust me Beau what you have is precious. Unfortunate events means I’ve missed the boat with kids but that’s ok, it’s got to be. So cherish your time and keep on being ripper parents. Thanks too for your stories because your videos make me smile.
You always get the right words Beau. I don't know if it's froced through hours of rewriting and rehearsal or improvised, but you always manage to just... "get it". Simple, genuine and the love you have for her just jumps out at the screen in all the little editing touches and words... Stellar work as always.
Literally feels like this was written for my wife and I (former mountain bikers). Our little baby is the best, but neither of us have any time to do the things we did prior and it takes its toll. Thanks Beau for one of your best videos.
I feel your joyful pain. I had 5 non sleepers. Thankfully they finally get all their worst teeth through and then they suddenly start sleeping for the WHOLE NIGHT ! Magic!!! It always gets better.
I enjoy your adventures Beau. And your honesty in regards to everyday situations. And l find the way you present your posting a really good watch. Thanks mate
This made me tear up and smile at the same time because it's similar to what my husband and I are going through this very moment. We're entering our 40s and these past 5 years have been the fastest and most stressful years of our lives. We were going so fast in life that I found myself in a complete breakdown which caused me to leave my career last month, I had "switched off the circuit breaker". You did a great job on this video. You acknowledged the reality of a growing family and you'll make it through as long as you're committed. I'm glad to be reminded we're not the only ones.
I think if we could ‘live in our own being’, in a ‘more fluid way’, never at an ‘end state’, we could ride the waves of our journey on earth in a more peaceful way. Thank you do much for making this video and giving me this important perspective to think on. ♥️😌♥️
The utter selflessness of motherhood is something I never really appreciated. Now as a father, it's still not something I fully comprehend. Hats off to Helen - all the other mothers who appear to drop everything for their families
Thanks for being open and honest. I've got two little ones, and after 8 years of parenting, I can say, it's not easy...not at all. Its refreshing to hear someone else say how tough things can be and that I'm not the only one.
I'm a parent of two kids under three, with a wife who makes so many sacrifices in order for me to work for a living for our family. I've always loved your videos, but this one was more relatable than ever. Well done for celebrating Helen, and thanks for reminding us to celebrate our wonderful better halves!
I’ve been in the North West of Tasmania since April this year and I had no idea the North East was just as spectacular! I’m also 45 years old and building tiny houses and chook sheds for an off-grid community, but feeling the responsibility of family back in Qld- luckily the kids are almost grown up and doing well.
What an incredible husband and father you are. You are so thoughtful and kind. Accepting life on life's terms is a sure sign of wisdom. Keep on spreading the love and kindness.
G'day Beau, as a father of three (10, 8 and 5) I felt every single bit of this video. It gets easier as time goes on but it doesn't get any less busy. Thanks mate, you're the best.
I initially found this channel from the "Running a marathon, one mile every hour" video, like many, but I stayed for the personality, wisdom, and thought-provoking videos you always produce. Thanks.
The first few years of raising babies feels like you are doing it from a cave. I was so focused on both of my kids that the world went by and I didn’t notice. It’s crazy how this instinct kicks in and envelopes you. You come out the other side a little exhausted and foggy but it’s so good. Thanks Beau! Best content on platform!!
As a proud dad of a 18-months-old-rarely-sleeping daughter, this really helps. The lack of sleep makes everything, literally everything, a lot harder. Not everyone can understand this. But despite ups and downs, hopes and disillusions, I feel myself lucky. My daughter is happy, is healthy, loves us unconditionally: being also someone who works with severely ill people (children as well) this is never obvious. Enjoy every single minute of them, we all know that we can’t know how much it will last!
In my experience raising 2 boys, kids sleep better if you keep a noisy household from day one. Don't tiptoe and turn down the music when kids are sleeping, and they will quickly adopt that sound level as normal. After the first year or so you can start letting them howl themselves to sleep if they have to. I know a lot of people hate this approach, but I did it with mine, and they slept like logs after a couple of very difficult nights with me outside their door quietly listening the entire time (I felt I owed them that). To each their own but that's what worked for me. I told them flat out, not like they fully understood of course, that mom and dad need their sleep too. Being honest with your kids works, even if they don't understand the words. Having twins helped, because eventually you just give up trying to comfort them each and every time they cry, because logistically it just becomes impossible, and you have to close the door and trust them to survive however unhappily. You learn to separate the cries of harmless frustration and are always listening for the ones of genuine physical distress which are much more rare than most new parents believe. It's a hard path and both parents have to support each other through it, but once done everyone prospers. My 2c. Again, I know some people passionately hate this approach and would gladly call DHS on 'people like me'. Too late, they're off to college in the Fall, 2 of the most beautiful, fun-loving and thoughtful young men I know. For me, what's good for the whole family is good for the kids, even if they complain (a lot) at first. Take care of yourself and your wife, it's not just about the kids.
I have a 4 year old boy and a 2 year old girl. After we had our first and he was a shocking sleeper everyone said don't worry you never get two bad sleepers in a row you'll be fine for the next one. The little girl came along and wasnt a fan of sleeping either. Just starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel now Beau hang in there, couldn't agree more on how much tougher the mums have it too. Great video.
Thank you again for bringing us back to the earth.... We forget how we float into tht cloud of life, work, family and again it begins the next day.... To Helen so happy u had a break and u should have loads more....

Love this. I’m 47 with a 5 year old and 11 year old. My kids didn’t sleep much. When you can feel a few brain cells coming back, it’s amazing. Great video, thanks.
Our second didn't sleep nights or during the day until he was over 2 years old. So I know how you must be feeling with two kids at that age with one not sleeping. Love this reflection and the way you show love towards your wife.
I am 70yo and I have seen and done all that stuff (including Derby, awesome)and you have summed it up in a few minutes. Very philosophical and oh so true.
The kiddo dazed and confused in hat-land while you talk about snacks was quite cute and hilarious. I had forgotten how blinding a toque/beanie and jacket hood can be for the little ones.
I am 23 and getting married in August. Everyone, while still trying to be encouraging, has told me it will be hard and that I don't know what I'm getting into. I know it's going to be hard, but I love her and I love the life God has given us. I loved your video also, thanks for making me even more grateful
My wife and I tried for a second and accidentally got a second and third, surprise twins! I feel this film in my soul and I'm sure my wife will feel the same when she sees it. So Babe, when you read this I hope you know how much you're appreciated and let's get you some time away in nature where you can string together some sleep.
My Niece just had twins, they were only going to have 2 children, except they got twins having just met them, and spending 4hrs with her coincidentally on the day her husband went back to work , their eldest is 2.5yrs old, my Niece is amazing. Wishing you all well.

Staring 40 in the face with no partner, no kids, no career, no home. Everything worth having in life comes with difficulties and responsibilities. If you have no problems you really have nothing. I speak from bitter experience.
Geez Beau, this hits me harder than I want it to! Got 2 young kiddos myself and things now are...tough. Sometimes I'll get some time alone with the wife and we forget how to be normal and not think about what the house or kids need. Keep on keeping on!

I am thirsty, I dont drink enough water :(
So it feels really good that at least one wife on the other side of the world gets here day in woods, love and a second proposal ♥
You might be struggling with sleep but trust me Beau what you have is precious. Unfortunate events means I’ve missed the boat with kids but that’s ok, it’s got to be. So cherish your time and keep on being ripper parents. Thanks too for your stories because your videos make me smile.
You can always adopt. Same thing as kids
Number 2 is on the way. I really needed this. Thank you.
You always get the right words Beau. I don't know if it's froced through hours of rewriting and rehearsal or improvised, but you always manage to just... "get it". Simple, genuine and the love you have for her just jumps out at the screen in all the little editing touches and words... Stellar work as always.
As a dad two, this made me go tell my wife how great she is. Great content man. Much love from Ohio bean boy.
Literally feels like this was written for my wife and I (former mountain bikers). Our little baby is the best, but neither of us have any time to do the things we did prior and it takes its toll. Thanks Beau for one of your best videos.
Love is real, love is hard sometimes. Being reminded of love's true nature is important. Thanks Beau, for the reminder.
Beau, you're a gem, and you've found yourself a gem. What a pair you two are.
Beau, Helen, this brought tears to my eyes. Thank you and all the best.
G'day Beau, as a father of three (10, 8 and 5) I felt every single bit of this video.
It gets easier as time goes on but it doesn't get any less busy.
Thanks mate, you're the best.
Derby is a hidden gem of a place. Beautiful filmmaking and beautiful message.
As a mother of two children under 5 and who used to go mountain biking every week, this brought a tear of happiness to my eye!
Beau & Helen - 36 year old bloke here, you guys are an inspiration. Thank you, this message landed at just the right time.
Beau reminds me so much of my departed father it kinda hurts. But its the good hurt of memories once had and good times missed.
Just found your channel a few days ago. Loving it. So well done man. Thanks for sharing with us.
Much love to you and yours from a little family in Alberta, Canada.
Take care, Beau.
hello fellow Albertan
hello fellow albertan :D
Thanks Bass. I freakin Lovvveee Canada.
What an incredible film maker you are, Beau. Enjoying the scenery, the narration, the music, the cinematography, everything. Just out of this world.
Your videos and stories are absolutely amazing. Thanks Beau.
Thank you again for bringing us back to the earth.... We forget how we float into tht cloud of life, work, family and again it begins the next day....
To Helen so happy u had a break and u should have loads more....
Nice to have someone be real for once. Life’s not easy but it’s reassuring hearing that other people go through the same struggles.
Nice thoughts Beau- love it. My kids grown up and moved on - my challenge was to enjoy every phase of the journey - everyday.
Love your work Beau.
Steve aka The Talking Fly
Beau is the kind of person anyone would be happy to meet, and even happier to become
Greetings from a fairly recent subscriber and devotee from Canada Beau. I enjoy never knowing what I'll be seeing and hearing and learning from your presentations. As a soon to be 60 year old man, I understand that inspiration, new perspectives and knowledge can come from a younger married father half a world away. Thanks for sharing your magnifiscent juorney.
I'm in the thick of all this right now. 42 with a baby under two, really learning what it means to live for someone else and not be selfish for once in my life. To want security and a safe space not for myself but for my family, so this really hits home. Health and happiness to you and yours mate.
In my 60's its all about doing the adventres that keep you interested & happy small or big ticking the bucket list . . .
they get less as the l8tr years roll in but the Memorys increase sitting on the chair sipping your beer or coffee
dont stress or worry just do it make something in the garage or go fishing cheers
Tip wear a bike helmet when doing things a fall on your head hitting the concrete will knock you out and dizzy spells for months
I had 1/2 an old peach tree break in 1/2 & fall on me while stretching my arms then Bang fell on the concrete driveway out cold zzz's doctors wont help or drugs

Honestly mate, you’re both such good souls I can’t help but love the pair of you. You’re excellent humans ❤
As someone in their early 40s, the first minute of this video was definitely something I needed to hear. Thanks Beau
Rewatched it.
One of your best films.
And the comments are wonderful.
The kiddo dazed and confused in hat-land while you talk about snacks was quite cute and hilarious. I had forgotten how blinding a toque/beanie and jacket hood can be for the little ones.
Beau & H. Love it. Welcome to the club. Ace vid big man. ❤
I am 23 and getting married in August. Everyone, while still trying to be encouraging, has told me it will be hard and that I don't know what I'm getting into. I know it's going to be hard, but I love her and I love the life God has given us. I loved your video also, thanks for making me even more grateful
Hope it's going well mate. Marriage is awesome
@@mitch369 It's going great so far :)
We just got back from our honeymoon this Monday
Good on ya mate for giving your wife a break, they all need it.
now my wife is telling me that, trip to derby it is 😂
My wife and I tried for a second and accidentally got a second and third, surprise twins! I feel this film in my soul and I'm sure my wife will feel the same when she sees it. So Babe, when you read this I hope you know how much you're appreciated and let's get you some time away in nature where you can string together some sleep.
Ditto here. Learned of the twins the same day our county shut down for COVID
How poetic and excellent. Go get em J and hero wife.
My Niece just had twins, they were only going to have 2 children, except they got twins having just met them, and spending 4hrs with her coincidentally on the day her husband went back to work , their eldest is 2.5yrs old, my Niece is amazing. Wishing you all well.
All of your videos make me want to cry.
I have a lot to examine in my life..
Thank you.
'uninterrupted stretching' 😂.
That's on point. We have 3 young boys that think when daddy stretches it's pile up time 😫🤣
Thanks for the videos, hi to Helen and kiddos.
lol, same here :D
That was a line for Helen who has had perhaps two stretches in the last month where a kid hasn't sensed in and bombed her
shes a great mum and your a great dad i hope you 2 have an amazing life with your kids
Staring 40 in the face with no partner, no kids, no career, no home. Everything worth having in life comes with difficulties and responsibilities. If you have no problems you really have nothing. I speak from bitter experience.
Thank you Beau. This is just what we needed….perspective after being in the same situation the last 3 years.
Geez Beau, this hits me harder than I want it to! Got 2 young kiddos myself and things now are...tough. Sometimes I'll get some time alone with the wife and we forget how to be normal and not think about what the house or kids need. Keep on keeping on!
TY Beau Much Hugs. Am not fromDown Under but need to say Ta Mate. 💪🏻👍You share such relatable Life Passages , which are very heartfelt. ❤️ It’s a Beautiful thing we share. ❤️Please take care of yourself. 👌👍🙏🏻TY so very much. 😘
Awesome to see you relax.
You, sir, are a goddam legend ... [which likely makes Helen some sort of goddess?!]. This might be the most loveliest of love letters I've ever encountered. Thank you. [Again]. 🙏
Thanks Beau, for being vulnerable and sharing your life with us - not just as another vlogger, but as a storyteller, and a bloddy good one at that! Cheers mate! 😁
I just loved this. Busting, thirsty and hungry. Yep I remember that well. I'm 67 and they are now 38 and 36. Ranga genes make for awesomeness.
This last year I was working as a teacher for little pay in Spain. I'm 24 and life ain't what I thought it would be.
This video hit home. I took a holiday in Finland with my mate where we went hiking and did lots of sauna and lake swimming. After that, I can see life in colour again :)
Im constantly blown away but these. I'd say never stop making them but thats bad advice. You do you boo.
