You should reinforce the frame after introducing such a heavy engine in the front of that car. The 240 isn't the most rigid frame to begin with, now it's reality prone to flexing, aside from the hp 💪 lol
I think the steering is still going to be affected by the rack movement as the best practice is to keep inner tie rod location at the same point as the subframe to axle connection is. So if the rack is moved to left and tierods shortned/lengthend accordingly, that means that left inner tie rod is more towards to wheel and when you hit a bump, it will act differently then the right side. So this means that during suspension travel front wheel alignment will be a bit chaotic.
I reacted to the rack aswell, the left front is going to have a much more progressive toe out gain through the travel than the right side. It's going to feel sketchy driving at best. Perhaps a different rack would be the the easiest way to get around it. The inner joint A and outer joint B for the tie rod on each side needs to be the same distance from A to B on both sides because the bump steer is the arc the rod makes in relation to the lower control arm. Great video btw, almost makes me miss my old s14 :D

Hey man, great build, watching from Perth Australia! If you are actually serious about boost (not sure if you were joking) You can run a rear mount turbo, with the charge pipe into the boot, through a water to air intercooler, then run the charge pipe either under the car (opposite exhaust) up through the front tyre fender into the throttle body.. Or charge pipe through the cab obviously, maybe beside the passenger kick panel.. The turbos can have its own oil reservoir tank and scavenger pump.. 👍 done. Just something to think about but from where I’m sitting, it’s gona be a crazy ride as it is.. I’ll be watching😎 cheers
This is a sweet project Dalt, can't wait to see how you guys are able to make everything come together. Plus, no way Lee can bash this Nissan like he does the Juke.
For the brake boosting would a hydro-boost set up create more space? For the 4"exhaust, i would look into oval tubes. Great flow and will tuck up nice to the floor. For the cooling system, you can mount the cores horizontally with a small lip duct. The cores on the side can be mounted vertically to make more wheel space. Super cool build, good job💪 I'll keep my eye on this project.
Dude, this Nissan tip you are on, I'm into it! Let's talk LS swapped Z, or maybe Pulsar GTiR drivetrain into a NX2000. Awesome build excited to see it done!
Haha, I remember chopping up my S13 Coupe just to put a huge FMIC and Turbo on my factory KA24DE back before they had all the "kits" and relocaters, etc. But I couldn't imagine trying to cram this in. My chops were on a much smaller scale, yet I still felt the need for reinforcement just to avoid any extra chassis flex with 2.5x the factory HP and the intent to hillclimb/touge. This will be interesting. I'm hoping to see this project get some chassis, suspension, brake and sticky rubber lovin' to see some of the full potential. Love this channel.
man this was the idea i had for my first serious project car in a few years when i was actually able to do it. so sick to see you make this come to life and see you deal with all the things you have to do in order to accommodate the v10
I have one of my dream cars an S14, but a Viper has been one of my ultimate dream cars for almost 20 years, this totally something I would do if I had the time and money, awesome car man!!
My first car was a 1990 Nissan 240SX...Best car ever!! Some dude in the next town over had one with a Camaro engine in it...the Viper engine in a 240SX is BADASS tho!!! Keep up the work!!!
I read the title, then shook my head and said it'll never fit. Well if there's a will there's a way. Holy shit a lot of fab in order for this to work, great job so far tho
Wow, definitely an ambitious build. Can't wait to see it in action. You did the opposite from fast and furious, took an american engine in a Japanese car
You will probably get some weird bump steer from the rack being offset like that. Might be something to look in to if it seems like it is handling weird
You can look into a hydro boost brake set up from the chev astro van, I can't remember which years had the flat mount and which ones were angled, save some space and have much more braking pressure, I've heard it can split brembo calipers
Well. I am not sure if I an jealous or impressed. If yall are insane or brilliant. ALso not sure if I love it or hate it lol. Know how bad I would love just a GOOD engine in my 01 ram truck? the 5.2 I got has almost no power. its my dream truck. I wanted to hemi swap it but seeing that viper engine that I could never afford and the container you put it in, breaks my heart. But it's hard to hate the project, it is indeed cool. But I still say that engine would have went to a better home in my truck ;)
I'm always down for swaps as long as it not a sbc, ls1 or 2jz. I put a viper t56 in my cuda, good thing it was a rust bucket as I had to cut just as much or more for it to fit.
The largest big block Chevy engine is currently the 632ci, and she dominates any Viper engine with a Whopping naturally aspirated 1004hp, and 876lbft. of torque! That is a 364hp difference in favor of the Chevy, and a 276lpft. torque difference! Although I do realize that you probably meant that you were using what was available for a considerably lower cost, the Viper engine isn't even with two more cylinders close to the size, or capability of a large Chevy big block! However I love your show, please keep doing what you do! I will definitely keep watching!
Have you though of using a remote brake booster like they use in Rally cars? Also for the steering try and find an SW20 MR2 electric power steering pump, one less thing to attach to the engine, same goes with a Davies Craig electric water pump. Nice project!

One of my favorite cars that I one day could afford to own is the 2006-2008 Viper. But one car that I'd also like to have cause it looks cool is the S14 Kouki. I think this is a good combination of both. No common 4cyl or 6cyl swaps, but something special like that of the Viper V10 😊I'm sure if you sell it someone would be happy :D
Dude sick build!! I don't like Nissan and I'm not a fan of the V10 in the viper BUT together is a match made in heaven!!!👍👍👍👍 super awesome and definitely not something you see everyday!!
The steering gear must be in the axis of the vehicle. It cannot be that it is shifted to one side and it is corrected by the length of the rods because then the angles change, including the akerman (it is then different for both sides) and the car may fall into shimi, and it will certainly drive unpredictably. In extreme cases, this can break the driver's hands. Why don't you change the steering rack to a worm gear, e.g. from a jeep xj? This will save you a lot of space under the engine. In this case, under the oil pan, only the steering rack and stabilizer linking both wheels, will run?
Such a wacky concept. I hope it comes together and then you caj start polishing everything. Its going to be a true hot wheels once it's sema polished, which im hoping for. Would love to see the engine cover painted a dark metallic blue just surrounded by polished metal. This thing needs a massive molded and smoothed out wide body with some clock work wheels in deep blue and chrome.
While I've had a hand in shoehorning some interesting engines in an S chassis (a Boss 302 probably takes the cake overall), there were a few times I had to hesitate to chop up a primo chassis. If I were asked to assist with this one, I imagine the conversation would go something like this: "How much do you expect you'll need to cut out, and what's going in?" _Viper V10_ "Soooo... Angle Grinder or Plasma Cutter?" Definitely would jimmy up a tube chassis front to accommodate that monster just for fitment and make amends with having to do the geo on new suspension, but she'd handle like a dream once you get past the off-throttle understeer.
Why not remote mount turbo at the back? would help with weight balance and avoid a lot of the packaging issues, though getting the air back up to the intake would require creativity. you could go full matchbox/hotwheel car and cut the hood and install a massive roots/lysholm/whipple style blower for the full cartoon effect. why not go full lunacy, youre half way there already with this build.
What about the torque motion output from when revving the engine it may rock and hit stuff like parts on the rack and maybe the booster just my 2 cents keep up the great work I'm late but glad I found this video just the stuff I'm into 👍💯😎
