Devon House is a historic mansion in the heart of New Kingston, Jamaica. The property was owned by Jamaica’s first afro millionaire. Legend is that the Jamaican governor's wife Lady Musgrave refused to be driven passed a house that was built by an afro-Jamaican which was more lavish than the governors’ mansion Kings House. Therefore the eponymous Lady Musgrave Road was built as a bypass to save the governor's wife the anguish of seeing Devon House. The entitlement of the British!
