I personally would have preferred Guardiola because Tuchel is a lot more defensive and pragmatic. But Tuchel is a massive upgrade on Southgate and any English manager. England have a great tactical mind and has an incredible record in knockout matches at the elite level. Despite the haters, there is a talent good enough to win the World Cup. It has been a long time that England haven’t been handicapped by a mediocre coach. This is the most serious England have been because they finally have a top quality player pool with a true elite coach, with a great track record in knockout matches. Not an overrated Sven, who just a bit of research showed he had underperformed with the best team in Italy and Capello long past his best.
@@P.K... maybe so because nothing is guaranteed. But England’s deep talent pool with an actual world class coach in his peak, not Sven who wasn’t really a top coach or Capello whose methods were outdated and past his best, is still more likely to win something than Germany’s limited squad.
Do english people feel more happy losing a title game with an english coach? Weird. If he wins them a title, they will give him english citizenship, if he wants it or not.
English fans are not happy with a German manager many are pissed off about it this announcement no other national team would appoint a foregin manager...
For the english it getting used to that a german gets the job to get trophies for England. But it isn't important, me as german think it's a good choice for England to make history with Tuchel. In New York 2026 will come the dream final Nagelsmann vs. Tuchel.
Winning trophies is all about fine margins. England reached quarters, semis, and finals in the last 20 years. It's hardly like England isn't reaching the latter stages of tournaments. The media and fans act like England are entitled to winning trophies. I'm sure 99% of nations would bite our hands off to reach the number of latter stages that England has.
I'm sorry but anyone who says the English manager should always be English they want to come off as patriotic in this day and age I just think it comes up as xenophobic and anyone who says they should be English isn't living in today's reality any English manager they get isn't as good as Thomas Tuchel let's say they did get their way and the manager was English they would inevitably fail and those same fans who made that call would want him sacked immediately and asked to bring in Guardiola or Klopp Stuart Pearce on Talksport was so disappointed Tuchel was hired he sounded like he was going to burst into tears questioning why the FA would make such a good decision and people wonder why English media and pundits can't be taken seriously
I honestly can't stand Tuchel at a club level, but he's a good manager for cup competitions, and obviously an upgrade over Southgate. England will have a manager who will be able to make the team press, keep possession and make necessary changes during the game.
You can't say "necessary changes" anymore after the fiasco he made in the UCL semifinal second leg vs Real Madrid. But yeah, all things considered, good deal. Would've been happier with Guardiola, but let's be honest, Pep has an ego and obvious charisma, he can't be limited to international football where he'll be seen by the cameras only once in a while, and get to work with players very few times.
Lol. So many of the so called “English players” aren’t even fully English yet they’re critical about having a German coach ? England fans are something else man smh

I don’t think, there was an English manager at Tuchel‘s level available. At the moment I don’t see too many top level managers from England at all, looking at the Premier League.
I get it if Greece or Hungary need a foreign manager for their National team because they lack talented managers and there is a necessity, but a Football Nation like England, the motherland of football, needs a German manager, which says a lot. Germany, the Netherland or Italy would never hire a foreign coach because they have plenty to choose from in their own country.
Look at the press conference - his heart is with England now. He is ambitious enough to want to beat his country of origin , no doubt about it. Plus , for Tuchel a chance like that one right now with England doesn't come around very often in life. Germany btw will probably stick with Nagelsmann for the foreseeable future , blocking Tuchel with Germany. So this will likely be his best and only chance , and he will want to use it.
@@tk80mufa5 Germany will stick with Nagelsmann until 2026 then it will be Jurgen Klopp for years to come. English FA originally wanted Klopp but Klopp declined.

Could you imagine him deliberately picking a weak team or giving them poor tactics just to let Dortmund win? Not a chance.
I think it was on Younes' Chelsea channel that the concept of swagger in football management came up - defined as to walk or conduct oneself with a confident, insolent or arrogant air. The topic was Graham Potter and his lack of it. And Chelsea fans had the epitome of swagger: Mourinho. In the footballing understanding of swagger it can mean charismatic (Klopp); intense and resolute (Pep); laid back and cool (Ancelotti); beautifully dressed and presented (Mancini, Euros 2020); has a switchblade in his pocket and will use it (Simeone); has razor blades in the lapels of his jacket (Ferguson). Tuchel has it, Howe hasn't. England needs swagger. It needs a manager to bench our beloved Kane or whoever is not performing or fitting in to the system being employed. Swagger means I can and will be ruthless.
My issue with Tuchel has nothing to do with his coaching ability. I think he is an amazing coach on the training field. I fear for his ability to manage upwards. The F.A is intensely conservative and Tuchel is an opinionatedl man.. I can see his "honesty" not being appreciated by an organisation where the agreed line is all,.
In general, fans/teams have no issue going after a coveted dual-nat that has zero ties to the country, but complain about a manager being foreign 🙃. At the end of the day, TT >>> Dyche, Howe and Scrub Potter.
So Manchester United couldn't hire Tuchel and allowing him to go for England's job thinking Ten Hag is better than him. Okay let's see where ten Hag will be in the table at the end of the season
He is a very decent human being firstly ...right behind him ...dont care that he is German cos he las plied his trade in the Prem and loves England ...am excited cos he is a great coach ...what a story ...somebody has to get a beat out of the 'under achievers' . Mr Nice to Mr Football (not a chelsea fan am West Ham)
England is used to doing well by foreigners contribution. This is why EPL is the best league, but England struggles to win any global/regional trophy because a majority of the players are foreigners. It's like england is not a soccer giant but it does look like because they got money to contract players and coaches to make a better league.
I don't care if he's from Germany or from the moon! He's a tournament manager who knows kane well and plays attacking flowing football, him not being English I think is a plus, because to him it's just another job, there's no emotional attatchment, I applaud the FA for actually getting a top level manager instead of the usual league two standard managers, come on tuchel 👍
What I like about Tuchel is that from what I have seen of his teams, he likes to play with two good holding players who have playmaking ability, and are good on the ball . I am hoping this will be the end of side ways passing Rice . Put him as a centre back if needs be but don't play him in midfield as a 6 ,where he can't get turned on the ball to make a forward pass . Or an attacking 8, where he has all all creativity on the ball of Scott Mctominay. Should spell the end of Trent too, as Tuchel wants full backs who can defend . He also isn't daft enough, too continue playing centre backs or right backs at left back . Unfortunately at least for the time being, I think he will keep rice in midfield, as he has no alternative at the moment , but I cant see Adam Wharton not replacing him in the future when he regains his form. Also I will be amazed, if he doesn't call up Lewis Hall and play him at left back . He has got all the attributes to be a great left back. Can't see him persisting with Pickford in goal either. Reply
@@ajibolavincent5496 He has also played pavlovic in midfield who is A real playmaker . I am not that that familar with those two you mentioned but i am pretty sure unlike rice they both have a forward pass on them .
@@ajibolavincent5496 You conveniently fail to mention that in the return match. Tuchel corrected his mistake, of playing two limited ball players in midfield . He replaced the german declan rice goretzka, with the potentially great german playmaker Pavlovic. Pavlovic is only a kid so i can see why, he was reluctant to play him in the first match . And while Laimer isn't great on ball . He has all the defensive attributes of Declan Rice and unlike rice, he can play a forward pass . At chelsea he played jorginho a playmaker and kovavic as his two holding players kovavic has great press resistance . So this idea that Tuchel will play 2 cloggers as holding players needs to stop .
@@greengrass811 You made a claim that Tuchel prefers technical midfielders when the opposite is the case. You think any sane manager will drop England's only real defensive midfielder to appease 'fans' .
The same way national teams are only allowed to use players from their country they shouldn't be able to hire foreign managers. If you don't have a good striker you can't just go and hire Haaland, you have to use what you've got. I don't see how the manager is different.
The next 10 years will be interesting for National Clubs . Pep will probably get a national team (Spain) , Klopp (Germany) , Zidane (France) , and the guaranteed Ancelotti (Brazil)
German fans are gonna bait England fans if he wins the World Cup. "won by a German manager" and "It took a German to win England a trophy".....no wonder the German press have welcomed this. TBF as a Welsher I'll be using them as well if they win it. 😂😂😂😂
We need to get past all this nonsense about having an English manager that's so outdated. Lets even move onto having a foreign goalkeeper too if he is the best man for the job and say what can he do for us to get the best out of these really talented players. Oh and maybe a three foreigners rule too and also every team has to field a woman at left back.
Just give Tuchel English citizenship and all problems are solved. It's always good to have a coach who hates losing. It’s not the he should be English because we’re patriotic, it’s that it feels like cheating. England clearly have the money and base, so it’s embarrassing having to get someone from another nationality.
I understand the desire for an English manager but the truth is with two EURO finals and a World Cup semi-finals, this team is too good not to get the best manager available to maximize this generation...this guy is a proven winner in multiple locations...the FA did well...
Don't need the best manager available, just a better manager than Southgate. If Southgate can get us to finals and semi-finals then we only need a better manager than him, not what we think are elite coaches.
The Euro campaign was very average.
He’s a brilliant manager who is very underrated. I as an Arsenal fan underrated him until his Bayern professionally saw us off. Tactically he’s top. Great appointment.
I think this will be a fairly short term appointment, he has only signed a 18 month deal, that will be around the time that Howe may leave Newcastle.

Fun fact: top managers in the world are either Italian, Spanish, Portoguese, French or German, English managers comes late in the list.
They act enttitled because euro 2020 was set up for england to win and they lost because of southgate
Now justify why only English players are allowed to play for the England team without being xenophobic.
I honestly can't stand Tuchel at a club level, but he's a good manager for cup competitions, and obviously an upgrade over Southgate.
England will have a manager who will be able to make the team press, keep possession and make necessary changes during the game.
Yeah, he'll take Kane and Bellingham off at 1-1 with 10 minutes to go in the world cup final.
His sub choices are questionable but rest is true

Of all German managers they chose the most defensive one… I still think he’ll be better then Southgate

Tuchel experiencing white-on-white racism is a little funny (or is it xenophobia)
The idea that England will be the first team to win a world cup with a foreign manager sounds unlikely.
If Germany ever plays England with Tuchel as England's coach, how will England win that game, given Tuchel's massive conflict of interest?
Look at the press conference - his heart is with England now.
He is ambitious enough to want to beat his country of origin , no doubt about it.
Plus , for Tuchel a chance like that one right now with England doesn't come around very often in life.
Germany btw will probably stick with Nagelsmann for the foreseeable future , blocking Tuchel with Germany.

I can see his "honesty" not being appreciated by an organisation where the agreed line is all,.
tuchels problem has mainly been crying at his owners for more money and different signings.
not a problem for internationals.
