As a Chelsea Fan, i cant praise Tuchel enough. Did a fantastic job, was great in interviews and delivered us another Champions League. Nationality doesnt mean anything. I'm absolutely chuffed that we get Tuchel as England Manager, lets not forget he also managed Harry Kane last season. This is such good business by the FA for once. A No-nonsense coach who will hopefully deliver no nonsense football with this amazing group of player's. Just thinking about Cole Palmer being managed by Tuchel internationally, has me rubbing my hands together.

It’s actually quite interesting that he agreed so hastily. Most managers don’t like the idea of getting the entire backlash of not winning a game that doesn’t even matter. Southgate experienced TONS of hate just for not winning any trophies, but he still managed to get them to the final. If Tuchel can’t do that then he better expect the hate coming his way

One of the callers started by saying he didn't want Tuchel because there were better English coaches, like Howe. When Cundy pushed back on that, the caller claimed that there were better foreign coaches like Mourinho. When Cundy asked why, he claimed it's because of Tuchel's issues with falling out with players and clubs (which Cundy of course quickly pointed out Jose's history). Finally, after a ton of prodding, the caller admitted it was because Tuchel is German. Cole's response? "Well, at least he's honest about it." Yeah, honest after every other excuse he gave got shot down.
No problem with appointing Tuchel but it's not true to say Sven wasn't a controversial appointment, as the first foreign coach the media went crazy when he got the job.

Why aren't they angry that Klopp won a premier league and champions league with Liverpool. Liverpool, after all, is a cornerstone club of english football heritage.
Liverpool couldn't care less about that. We had only one english manager since Roy Evans in 1998. That was Roy Hodgson, who lasted 6 months as he was about to get us relegated. Our biggest legend and "founder" of the Liverpool of today was scottish.

Of course, the history buffs are aware of that. But most English vs Italian combats during WW2 were the latter running away or surrendering. But German 1v1 English were brutal.

To me, only English players can play from England. Only Italians can play for Italy. Only Slovaks can play for Slovakia. I think managers should be the shame as the players, so you also have to have the manager representing your country too.
The English and German were for hundreds of years speaking a similar language. Though these relations have suffered through many wars and crises, we still are bonded by similar traditions, foods, especially drinks and also the same pride for our nations and Europe. Why the English traditional media try to disrupt this beautiful brother- and sisterhood stood in stone for generations over politics and also military as of recently, is utterly beyond me.

Saw a clip from TalkSport where Carlton Cole was whining about not having an English manager, while Jason Cundy was thrilled to have him. One of the callers started by saying he didn't want Tuchel because there were better English coaches, like Howe. When Cundy pushed back on that, the caller claimed that there were better foreign coaches like Mourinho. When Cundy asked why, he claimed it's because of Tuchel's issues with falling out with players and clubs (which Cundy of course quickly pointed out Jose's history). Finally, after a ton of prodding, the caller admitted it was because Tuchel is German. Cole's response? "Well, at least he's honest about it." Yeah, honest after every other excuse he gave got shot down.
No problem with appointing Tuchel but it's not true to say Sven wasn't a controversial appointment, as the first foreign coach the media went crazy when he got the job.
Tuchel is exactly the right profile for England manager. My advice to him is to ignore the press and the so-called pundits.
