  • Removing the 7.3 Fuel bowl was faily easy, HPOP is a little messier but a lot easier with the fuel bowl removed first. The high pressure oil pump can be removed without removing the fuel bowl but its a bit tricky. This gives me a good opportunity to get her really cleaned there in the valley where i couldnt reach before. Also i just couple days ago ordered the new oil lines and the IPR valve, so there was no rush to get it done today, on the next video i will

    If anyone else has trouble getting the HPOP bolt out at the 8:00 mark try getting someone to help or propping a breaker bar with a 15/16 socket on the harmonic balancer bolt. You don't have to remove anything from the harmonic balancer but holding it will stop the engine from turning and allow you to take the HPOP bolt out much easier.

    Awesome camera angles bud. I came here looking as to why my HPOP is stuck in the mount hole (all 3 bolts are out as are the two lines). My HPOP is 1/4" away from its seat, but it seems to be hung up on something I cannot see. I cannot see what it is hung up on using a mirror and a boresight camera so I came here hoping to glean an insight. Your HPOP pulled right out no problem. I guess I just have to go back and keep fighting it. Again, great camera views, which are much better than other RUclipsrs that have done this same job. UPDATED: I figured out that the drive gear was preventing me from pulling out my HPOP as it was still tightly attached. It took about 15 minutes of fighting with it before it slipped free from the mating surface.

    Great Vid, good to see the Big girl getting more minutes. Man I'm thinking that my Hpop pump might be leaking cause I always have oil in the valley. Hard to believe those high pressure lines are not screwed in. 👍😉💪

      @@FixItNick My 99 F350 has 402K, I'm wondering to do the O rings also on the hpop, its the original one. Or maybe just replacing it.

    Might I suggest you slide a 3/8" hose onto the end of the fuel bowl drain line so you don't make such a huge mess when draining the bowl. Great video

      @@FixItNick Only if it needs it, but just slip a piece of 3/8" hose over the end and route it to the bottom of the truck that way you can drain it without making a mess all over the frame, and easier to catch it in a drain pan or can.

    What are the 2 hard lines on the driver side of the fuel bowl? I had one bust on me, it’s stuck at work right now, I’m trying to figure out what they are, as I will need to pull my alternator and power steering mounts for access to the bottom of them

    Hey man I have everything stock. And right by the fuel bowl there so much wires and harnesses. I notice you didnt do a fuel bowl delete. Is it because I have a obs and have the mechanical fuel pump there too ? Or are you running a regulator ?

    Very real videos. Do it yourself beware…..I didn’t want to remove the fuel bowl. Third time stripping out Hpop long bolt. Through the heart of the ports and gasket. The real important one to the timing cover. Over torque and your creating $4000 of work . Oil and coolant. Riff raff sales a kit tap and die new steel threads into aluminum timing cover to avoid taking low pressure pump, water pump, pulleys, timing cover . jacking removing cab of truck, removing or jacking engine mounts. Beware tighting torquing short and long Hpop bolts. Hand tight.18 lbs. $1000 Hpop became a $4000 project in a hurry taking it to shop and not diy. Think before you torquing steel bolt aluminum timing cover. No rolling coal for a month and $4000 bye bye.

    Is it possible to relocate the 99-03 7.3 fuel bowl to the side of engine? I want permanent access to the oil supply and hpop pump area and/but also want to keep the original fuel bowl. If this is possible it would eliminate having to remove the turbo and fuel bowl just to gain access to the IPR valve or hpop oil pump components on my 2002 7.3 box truck/VAN. PLEASE HELP 🙏
    Also is there a kit out there to buy that does it?

    Have you ordered from Riff Raff and gotten bad sensors? I ordered an IPR valve and it made the truck run like crap. Put a known good one in and it ran perfect I went to Ford and bought one I paid the extra $100. Riff raffl was reluctant but they refunded my money. This was 3 years ago. I have a new truck with the engine out I tried Riff Raff again for an IPR and an ICP sensor along with other parts. The bags that the two sensors came in are quite obviously have been resealed. Have you had any problems with Riff Raff?

      Was it running bad with stock one? Why did you replace it? Put back on stock one and see if runs bad, if runs good then you know new one defective?

      I had a no start. And found it to be the IPR. A friend let me use a known good one he keeps in his toolbox. When the Riff Raff IPR arrived I put it in. I spoke to somebody at Riff Raff they told me to drive the truck around at Full Throttle and it will fix it. I didn't do that. I put the known good one back in and went to the local Ford dealer and paid the extra $100 for a Motorcraft IPR.

      I even paid $80 for gasket at ford. Not necessary but peace of mind after hard work install 3 times.

    Jesus! Put a hose on the filter drain so it doesn't rain diesel all over everything! The filter removal is so sped up, useless. Next!
