The consumer is on the hook for the losses. The stores aren’t going to absorb it, so it’s passed on to you the consumer in higher cost of the products.

actually Stores do have some type insurance on what is called loss or in store terms shrink. The higher prices are JUST a scam to charge the customer more money.
Think about a grocery store that had no power due to a storm. The manager goes in with a few employees and dumps say all the milk. They scan the milk that they think could have spoiled and because they scanned it, they get MONEY for the loss.
Red Lobster loses power and thousands of dollars of lobsters die. They have insurance for their loss also. So they can get up another load of lobster.
      here is proof...
" Most corporate property insurance policies protect against “physical loss and damage” to business personal property, including inventories."
With that line above meaning loss of inventory means that they get money for any loss from damage, spoilage or theft.
And then the company can get money from the insurance company and then raise the prices and say "it is because of the shoplifting." In the real terms, "We want to suck the customer's wallet dry..."

For any potential lifters thinking of doing this at a target, STOP! DO NOT DO IT! They WANT to let you go so they can 1; build your ballsyness & 2; they want you to reach a certain amount that you’ve stolen bc once they’ve got u on camera (& they do) in multiple stores across your state & even over state lines into other states, & you’ve stolen enough to reach felonious amounts, that’s when they strike putting u in prison for a lot longer!

I think the best plan has been for police to befriend the would be shoplifter. Also giving them baseball cards of the local police. It’s supposed to work for kids, it’ll work for shoplifters, too.

The ORC professional booster doesn't get scared and just bolt from a store he's boosting from, because unless it's a thousand bucks or so these days (an informal threshold many local prosecutors have (foolishly, to me) set as the arrest point by police) the consequences aren't usually severe for him/her. Rather, they leave because it's smarter to just dump the cart they've assembled -- full of goods they want to steal -- and just move on to another store in the chain in the area -- or to a different chain, also in the area (usually, stores near highways or easy on/easy off interstates). Or, they just come back another day when when LP/AP personnel either aren't there or when they feel the heat is off. They know possibly getting apprehended is part of the hazards of the trade, but they also know many stores now have a "hands off" policy that prevents LP/AP personnel from carrying out a physical apprehension. It's crazy out there right now.

'" Most corporate property insurance policies protect against “physical loss and damage” to business personal property, including inventories."
The above line means most stores have insurance on shoplifters. So any loss will mostly likely be compensated to the company by an insurance company. And if they the corporations states that they are raising their prices because of stolen goods, they are partly lying to you. They just want to suck your wallet dry...

They know these guys are stealing but they won’t stop them when they leave the store. I know a guy who works at Walgreens and they are told to allow them to steal. One worker ran outside and confronted the shoplifter and Walgreens fired that person.

If that was in my town, everyone see strange men looking into other cars parked in a lot will call the police on the undercover police and think they were some type of car thieves trying to steal cars in the lot. So people would have called the police on the undercover police because they are not wearing uniforms and think they are car thieves.
What would you do if see some strange men/women looking at different cars in a parking lot? You call the police. Or go to security and let them know that there are strange folks looking into cars on the lot.

These are organized criminal organizations therefore they can be charged with a felony under the RICO statue. Under the RICO Act, a person can be charged with racketeering - which includes bribery, extortion, illegal drug sales, loan sharking, murder and prostitution and organized theft - if he or she has committed two of the 27 federal and eight state crimes under U.S. legislation within a 10-year period.

I am out of my head. That’s is why every time I go to shop the employees follow and keep an eye on me.
I was just standing when I saw some products and think what things I will do that tools and materials to make something like make time lapse for camera for my hobby. That’s why they suspicious on me.
I figure out buy DJI osmo pocket or other products are affordable than make by myself is expensive plus tools and wasted materials when I made wrong.

@@ninobrown90 you hire a security company. Not your own guy. Also, someone is trespassing after they are asked to leave. Watch videos on theft prevention. The theft prevention guys will do all they can to stop someone until the police leave. They can do this until someone steps off of the property. So a shoplifter just needs to run out of the property really fast. In stores like Target they chase and apprehend until they step on to the parking lot pavement.
