Easiest 6 weeks of my life...
What, all 6-8 weeks of it? 😂. In the E.U and UK it’s 2-3 years of training, then 2 years of probation. To be an armed response officer (in the UK), it’s 12 additional months of training, and that’s after a MINIMUM of being in the job for 5 years with a clean record. And if you fail the course? Well, you can never be an armed response officer… at all. Ohhh and every 12 months you have to be recertified, which takes 2 weeks of practical, written and psychological testing; again, if you fail then you can’t be an armed response officer. So yeah, I bet your train was “brutal” 😂🤣☠️.
He was celebrating his graduation... Definition of ironic...
Everyone in life has a purpose - even if it's to serve as a bad example. -- Carroll Bryant
Beautiful quote!
Good post.
Also a lot of random sh*t happens. Chance occurrences etc. Especially when alcohol is involved. And alcohol is socially acceptable to consume. Especially when celebrating life achievements or milestones. Many of us have driven under the influence (to some degree) but since we didn’t get caught we are better than those that do.
Does that make it right for this guy to drink and drive? No it does not but he wasn’t on the clock. What would be so wrong about letting him serve his time without further punishment? It’s ironic for a “correctional” institution to assume people cannot change.

After a full day of training at the Baltimore City Police Academy (back in 1974) just days before graduation, I stood at an open window and was looking outside. Suddenly I noticed a classmate standing to my rear with his service weapon pointed at my temple. He had a crazed look in his eyes. I calmly persuaded him to put the weapon down while others looked on in amazement. He then appeared to come out of his trance. Next day I reported the incident and he was immediately terminated. Prior to entering the Academy, he had completed service in the Vietnam War and was suffering from that experience.
He was not appropriate for the job.
