- Subaru Natsuki is a 17 year old Japanese shut in, or NEET. After months of hiding in his room, he suddenly feels the urge to venture to the nearby convenience store, while checking out the weekly magazines, his eyes would began to grow heavy- but.....
before he can fully close them, he would notice a couple oblivious students, a heavier middle aged man calling out to them, and an oncoming truck! As if his body moved on its own, Subaru dashes out into the rain, and pushed the students and older man with his whole body. As the headlights of the truck descended upon him, Subaru would feel a explosive pain before his consciousness faded..... After what seemed to be an endless darkness, he looks up to find a beautiful blonde girl with green eyes and a man with a sword.
This is the story of Subaru Natsuki, Reborn as the son of Paul and Zenith.... as Rudeus Greyrat. Follow Subaru as he starts his life over again- from Zero!!

An idea for a later part Subaru invents a flintlock for emergencies since spamming too much magic can be dangerous. Subaru in the Lust IF was inventing new technologies for the Re: Zero world so Subaru as Rudeus could also make a name for himself as a mage and inventor. Magic allowing Subaru to skip past the usual issues of advancing a tech tree.
I am planning for him to invent stuff. Specifically what, I wont say.

Subaru actually never wanted to learn the sword. Wilhelm eveb stated that he saw no sense in sparring with someone who didn't truly wish the learn the ways of the sword. Pretty much Subaru was in a cycle of self despair and he wanted to do Something, anything usefull so he picked up the sword to put up a facade but even still he didn't manage to fool himself.

So a fun idea for the Ranoa arc is Sudeus and Zanoba just recreating some of Da Vinci’s old designs. The both of them recruiting Cliff to see if their flying machine works which ends about as well as you think it does. But the biggest invention Sudeus would be working on would probably be the Printing Press since in our world the invention of the Printing Press allowed for information to be spread way faster than ever before and basically kicked off the Renaissance.

A funny moment for later is on the Demon Continent. Subaru/Rudeus splurges money on a wizard hat. A wizard hat Eris makes fun of but Subaru/Rudeus isn’t phased he’s just happy to have completed the Wizard look.
Subaru would want to keep hos name, his identity was a major thing in the novel.
I just want to say love the content and to me this is a good idea because I never really did like rudeus as a character in general from his actions
