Absolutely stunning work….
Excellent - really enjoyed it. Brilliant photos - please keep more coming
Thanks, will do!
Good grief Andy. I have just gorged myself on all 10 episodes over the past couple of days. What an uplifting experience after weeks working on the wards with some very unwell people. I think the damselflies are the most extraordinary shots. What a fantastic photographer you are. Thank you so much for raising money for nhs supplies, it is just brilliant. It makes people like me feel very humble. Keep safe, well and continuing with your amazing work.
We are humble and in awe Fiona of what you do!
Simply superb.
Thanks a lot
Brilliant Andy thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Really enjoying this series Andy. And thank you for sharing your anxiety, self doubt issues,, your honesty will help so many people who are experiencing something similar. I couldn’t agree more with you about nature providing a helping hand in situations like this. Hats off to you Andy !
well let's hope so. Unfortunately some of my "enemies" will use it as an opportunity to say something negative but that's their small mindedness and it doesn't bother me anymore!
Stunning
Thank you! Cheers!
absolutely beautiful
thanks John
Just caught up with No.10...brilliant Andy!
Fantastic video Andy, your a real funny man as well.Well you always make me laugh LOL,in a good way.Keep them coming, more often if possible ?.Thanks.

Wonderful images
loved this Andy
Amazing shots, can see the "Wildmanrouse" brand of waders coming out soon !!
You are keeping a lot of people going in the lockdown, I have seen a couple of your webinars and look forward to the weekly Wild Angle video. Think of it this way, you take 8 hours, a day(ish) to do a 15 minute video, that then gets watched by 2000 people (#6 is over 2500) thats 500 hours of happiness you bring. Keep up the great work. Stay Safe.
Hi Colin thank you. But these videos take far far longer as I have to find, shoot then edit. So yes it's lovely inspiring and bringing happiness but it's hard work!
Inspirational beyond words!!! Thanks very much for more insight and passion shown in another exceptional episode.
thank you Brian
Amazing video. 🙂👍one like from me👍
thank you very very much!
@@Wildmanrouse no problem 🙂
Fantastic set of images and a great commentary. Keep these coming, please!
ta howie
Awesome pictures Andy.
thanks Brian
Wow beautiful, the Damselflies not you!! Absolutely fabulous shots, trying to think of somewhere to have a go.
Go for it!
Great shots as usual Andy, wish I had a river near me. Only Damselflies I have seen were a pair of mating Large Red.
Thanks 👍keep looking
Wow! Some amazing shots there Andy. What beautiful creatures they are. I really loved seeing the damsel fly eating the aphid 😀. Running water is so therapeutic and your enthusiasm reminded me of when I was a girl wading in our local river looking for sticklebacks and bullheads etc with my 2 older brothers. Happy days! 😃
thank you liz
Great stuff Andy, upfront, honest and no frills as always. Good on you for mentioning the mental health part too.
well it's close to home and I don't mind admitting it. And there are SOME frills mate 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Brilliant captures. I have a fair few dragonflies in flight but no damselflies in flight. The Demoiselles I see in the air are normally flying along the canal/river and their colour makes them difficult to pick out against the water (I don't go in - it's too deep). I now have access to a few acres of private land with a stream, so I may have better luck.
Extraordinary images Andy, but I have a bone to pick with you and my wife is unimpressed too! I am a Canon shooter but after your recent posts I bought an Olympus OM-D E-M1ii to use as a lightweight camera for my bike rides. With a 12-40 2.8 Pro lens I’m mightily impressed so far!
Ah was that a Mk2 or a Mk3?
Andy Rouse Morning Andy, I have managed to pick up a Mk 2 used for under £500 from Jessops with 5k shutter count and a 12 month guarantee. The IS is still great on the Mk2 and apart from an ND filter it’s very much the same. Love it! I still have an E-M10 too so I already had some lenses. Really enjoying your current vlogging, thanks but how are you getting those damsel flies an extension tube??
That's a good price to get one. Actually it's not really the same, the image quality is deffo better as there were tweaks to the the EM1X that it's inherited, Lots of other stuff in there but as I understand the EM2 is a great body too and I want to convert one to Infra Red and have some real fun!!! I think I understand the other question, my 600 focusses to 1.4m which is perfect for them, extension tubes bring it closer. The 40-150 with the 1.4x is about 0.7m so again perfect range for flight.
Andy Rouse Thanks for the info Andy. So now I have to buy a 40-159 Pro and a 1.4 extender! My wife won’t be pleased, you have a lot to answer for...
Thanks Andy, loving these vids, inspiring, entertaining and great shots what more could we ask for.
thanks Mark much appreciated!
Another awesome video. Made me feel really positive and made me want to get out in this beautiful weather. Stunning images as always
thanks Kevin very much
Love your style and enthusiasm. Infectious in the right sense of the word --- I just want to go out and practice what you preach.... now I need to get some waders .... and a river!
Thank you so much for these RUclipss
Pleasure, why not sign up for one of our webinars?
Just a quick post... Andy, you’re an inspiration! I google mapped an area of a small river close by to do a recce... spent over 2 hours trying to emulate what you achieved in this short video... lessons learnt are to keep trying, Olympus pro capture is great, MF needs working on, higher shutter speeds and ISO work, but above all else, don’t wear shorts along river banks as, where there’s flying things there are nettles!!! 👊🏻
thanks very much John and ouch!!!!
Amazing flight shots. My favourite Damselfly these guys.
thanks very much Andrew!
Love it!
thanks Hilary
Great watch and some awesome images. 👏🏻👏🏻
Andy.
thanks
Wow Andy the best Damselfies photos I've ever seen and love those bokehs too. Still think you should have your own tv program, thanks for a great video mate !
I'd love to Raymond but no one has exactly come calling!!!!
Andy ... they are stunning .. no wonder you are smiling ! ...... Inspired to give the pro capture a bash !
be inspired!!!
A great set of images.....oh and you make me laugh
that's the idea Sue!
That bit to music got me rather emotional. Great episode, stunning photos.
thanks Vicky
Great stuff Andy, loving those waders!!. I’ve just received some yesterday and itching to try out my DIY floating hide. You’ve got me hooked on da wild things Mr Rouse😉
coolio!
Terrific in flight shots Andy gonna have a day with pro capture!
good
Any that was absolutely inspirational, why on earth have I not got waders - must get some they offer so much versatility. Quick question were you using the 40-150 with MC14 or with one or two extension tubes?
Just the one tube
Just going to photograph my local Demoiselle, great idea to get into the water thanks for the tip great flight shots
pleasure
and just remember to credit where you got it from as most mysteriously tell social media they have the same idea a day after I post these videos. I always credit where I learn stuff!
Amazing. Adding waders to my shopping list. Pity iPhones don't come with any sort of lens cap!
nah its a stress
@@Wildmanrouse oleophobic coating then. Anything to keep phone lenses clean.
My type of viewing cracking images.
thanks John!
Fantastic. Loved it Andy especially your inimitable style .....😊😊 Quick question. What was the lens you were using
Hello Andy, Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. Impressive pictures. I have Pentax K3 ii with Sigma 300 f2.8. But it is not macro version. Are you using macro extension tube/converter? Thanks.
sometimes yes and sometimes no, for these guys in the film no as the Oly kit focusses close
Awesome stuff Andy, and those damselfly images are superb! The pro-capture business looks interesting too - I've got an Olympus setup coming on loan soo so I'm looking forward to playing with that... Do you find the damselflies are predicatble in the way they come back to certain perches (like birds often are with the wind), or do you just have to be reactive every time and get into position based on what they're doing?
A bit of both Geoff to be honest. I will be running some Getting Started with Olympus webinars very soon, details will be sent to my website mailing lists
Hi Andy, great video, awesome shots. What lens are you using?
A combo of the 40-150 and 300mm f4
thank you. I have the same lenses. I can’t wait to get my waders on and get into the river.
Great work ,I always use mechanical shutter with insects and quick wings ,just wondering are you getting issues with pro capture and rolling shutter.
occasionally yes but more with bees
What camera are you using? It's awesome!
An Olympus EM1X and EM3
Yup, you've got the dedication to get properly in there & get the results your efforts deserve.
So, manual focus just this side of resting place over focus tracking? Is tracking not quick/reliable enough to keep up with these guys?
That's a tough question to answer as it's phrased to be negative against Olympus!! As I said on the video there are three method and on one of them, full AF, I got the best images. But I am very very very quick and fast. Not everyone is so fast hence my advice for helping others find an easier way to get great shots. It is not an equipment limitation!
@@Wildmanrouse Genuine question Andy. I'm an Oly user too, but I'd never think to try manual focus on these guys. Maybe I should. I wasn't intending a negative connotation. 👍
@@bradw7084 ok Brad just had to check as I get a lot of yeee hahs. Yeah manual focus clutch works great with focus peaking, check out my other videos for some ideas around this
