Waste King started to "rumble" after a family dinner (lots of grinding done). Checked the hammers as Kevin suggests, and one was stuck. Dumped in some ice, and sure enough hammer freed up. Saved me $100 and a few hours work. Thanks!

I will add my thank you to the growing list. I was skeptical, but with nothing to lose (ice melts), I gave it a try and it worked like a charm! I have an Insinkerator Evolution Excel, normally super quiet. I thought it was supposed to clear itself, but I guess not always. So ice … huh.

    This worked for me!
I am such an idiot. this started 2 or 3 weeks ago. It took me all of 2-3 minutes. All I did was dump the ice in my freezer into it, and it cleaned up whatever was stuck in literally 2-3 seconds so I let it spin until all the ice was gone.
    THAT'S IT!
Maaaannnn I feel so pendejo for taking all this long. I think I was worried it was going to be a big repair or pricey, but nope.
    Thanks!!!

This trick worked great for me. Our Garbage Disposal was vibrating loudly, and I could not find anything else stuck in the disposal. Earlier, I had found a small piece of a plastic, probably part of a freezer bag, under one rotating piece . I pulled it out easily, but there must have been more plastic stuck under one of the rotating pieces. Putting ice cubes in the garbage disposal, with water, as you described, and running the garbage disposal for minute worked great. I am relieved and glad to have learned this trick from your video.. Thanks for making this video !!

This approach didn't seem to make any sense, but ice is cheaper than a plumber so I tried it. Holy smoke! A tray full of ice worked, and saved me the expense of hiring a plumber, or the knuckle-scrapes of trying to fix the unit myself. Cheers!

Was almost ready to order a new one. There was no leak but had a clunky noise when turned on. Tried a little bit of Ice and the problem was still there.Dumped a whole bucket of Ice cubes and turned the water tap on.Ran it along with water for about a minute . All the dirt /grime foamed up and then it was sucked back and got drained out. It is working normal without annoying noise . 😀😀Thanks for the video!

    THIS WORKED for me!
i just replaced my $185 15ss insinkarator last month cuz it was making a horrible loud rattling noise after working fine for the past two years we have been in this house.
Yesterday it started making the same noise. I was ready to replace it again and try to recoup $ using the warrantee.
Then this morning i stumbled on this video.
I dumped three trays of ice cubes in, ran the water and hit the on switch.
10 seconds later the noise was gone..
Had i seen this earlier, it would have saved me money and agravation.
