Very well covered and filmed. Needed a review and watched several, this is the best ...former apprentice plumber with cognitive memory issues. Thanks for posting.
Hey "T2B" .. I will tell you - this is probably the finest instructional video I have ever watched (and I have spent many years relying on RUclips tutorials !). The 'tone' is very relaxed, the presentation of the component parts is so easy to follow, and the explanation from the 'instructor' is a pleasure to listen to, because .. not only does he explain each step very clearly, but he has a style that builds the viewer's confidence in doing the same job DIY ! Seriously - Thank You "T2B" for an amazing video !!
Worked as instructed. No hum but it had power. Pressed the reset, the hum come back, used the wrench, it moved and voila, back to business. Great video!!!
Great video, very informative! Thank you. Q: A shot glass accidentally fell into my garbage disposal; long story short, cleaned the large parts I could pull out, when turning the GD on I can hear the motor spin, but the disk doesn't; please advise. Thank you
So that's the purpose of the odd tool that's been sitting in my dad's garage for the past 35 years. Thanks! I believe it was a popcorn kernel knowing him and how the wrench felt breaking it up. I duct taped the tool to the side of the cabinet and made a note with a sharpie. It's for sale soon so might as well help out the next owners. Cheers!
Thanks for your support ☺️ but my problem is the Garbage disposal is very noisy 😭 all the blades is ok no broken but the noise is Strong we need to replace because is new we buy 2months ago
Great video but I have a different problem with mine, it works well but wont turn off, the only way to turn it on and off is by pulling the power plug or by plugging it back in. What could be the problem?
Well, I tried everything in your vid but my badge 1 Humes without turning even after I tried spinning it with an Allen wrench 20 times. Is it internally stuck or motor rusted and done? Thanks.
I am hearing humm sound and tried rotating the blade but its really hard to rotate it and it took enough force to rotate just a quarter...Even after that it doesn't start working and giving humm sound only..Any advise please? Thank you!
Even after doing everything just like it is explained, when I turn on switch, it doesn't start. what to do then? One time, it started and was working fine. I turned on and off switch to see it is working. It worked fine for four to five times. Then after half an hour, when I started switch on, it didn't start. This is the problem I experience. What to do? I have removed the old one and replaced it with the same Badger 500 1/2 H.P. new one. It doesn't start. What to do now?
@@Teach2Build I was able to get it working last night, the lil breaker button on the bottom tripped. I pushed that back in and it started humming, then I found a tool to move it back and forth form the bottom and it started working. Apparently something got lodged in there. Thanks for the help.
Nobody said it wasn't, but the tool that comes with them, and can also be purchased separately, is called a disposal key. Thanks for stopping by, and best of luck with your projects!

My insinkerator had normal 1/4" hex hole. Saved 10 bucks on "special tool"! Tanks for helping people save some money and time!
Thank you, I had it working before the video finished. My issue was solved with the reset button.
Wow! Thank you, sir!
This is EXACTLY the info I needed!
You’re doing everyone a great service! 😊
Thanks for the kind words. Best of luck with your project!

My grinder plate dislodged from my GE garbage disposal. Will I be able to take it out and screw it back on?
Oooo, I don't know. I've never tried. Might just be time for a new one!
God bless this man
Thanks! He definitely does, every single day.
This guy can talk me through the end of the world
Ha! Let's hope not...
@@Teach2Build bro this guy is hilarious, low key tho. Man’s a mastermind at talking at people 😂
@@Teach2Build oh my god it’s you 🤣😂 whaat this is the funniest thing I’ve ever watched in my life
What if I skip the ground? I'm replacing mine and the previous home owner doesn't have a ground cord
Thank you so much!! ❤😄

Unfortunately, this won't fix every one. Might be time to swap it out.

Unfortunately, it sounds like the fan motor is seized. Best of luck with your project!

So what does it mean if I put the key (¼” allen wrench) into that hole and it won’t budge at all in either direction?
Whatever locked it up isn't playing around! Might be time for replacement...
@@Teach2Build yeah, that’s what I was thinking … thx.
solution: I used an Allen wrench (used b4 ) but for some reason it’s stuck and I cant get it out? Help!!
Mine was making the humming sound, now its just nothing. I'm assuming the motor finally gave out.
Or it popped the circuit breaker. Best of luck with your project!
@@Teach2Build Thanks, I'll def check that first before replacing it
