OMG! I flipped the switch, disposal hummed, then went silent. Turned it off, turned the grinder with my tool. It was stuck so I swivwledit back and forth. Go it loose. Nothing in it to jam it.
Checked the breaker box. All good. Plugged in tight. Watched your video and you showed the Reset button. Got my flashlight, looked and sure enough! button was popped out. Pushed it back in, turned the water on and flipped the switch. Oila! Works like a champ! I am 82 years old and can follow directions! Thank you so much for the very clear steps for checking everything.

At 72 years old and the fifth day of Covid and I also have early onset Alzheimer’s. I remembered some of the tricks to fix my garbage disposal especially the one we used to use an Allen wrench, I hadn’t kept the wrench. I couldn’t quite remember, so I went down step-by-step to eliminated causes and finally got to the allen wrench and luckily I had one in my tool box , I turned it back forth and success ! Thank you so much. I’m subscribing. I forgot to tell you I’m female and followed my dad everywhere. Oh and I have a husband that didn’t know what Allen wrench was. I said to him what are you going to do without me that’ll be 200.. bucks please 😂

It only took me 1 minute to fix it!’ Thanks to YOU! I am a very proud now single momma. Thank you for making it so easy.

I just found this video. My disposer was screaming - it was awful! I scooped out everything (lemon peels) and then there was nothing. Until I saw where you had found the screw! I looked again and sure enough there was a piece of plastic wedged against the wall. I couldn't get it out but I could rotate the base until one of those little holes was under it. I pushed it into the hole and turned the disposer on and back to purring! Thank you so much!
(Secretly I want a new less bulky disposer but I am glad I don't have to remove this and install a new one. Maybe next time this thing screams at me!)
