OMG! I flipped the switch, disposal hummed, then went silent. Turned it off, turned the grinder with my tool. It was stuck so I swivwledit back and forth. Go it loose. Nothing in it to jam it.
Checked the breaker box. All good. Plugged in tight. Watched your video and you showed the Reset button. Got my flashlight, looked and sure enough! button was popped out. Pushed it back in, turned the water on and flipped the switch. Oila! Works like a champ! I am 82 years old and can follow directions! Thank you so much for the very clear steps for checking everything.

THANK YOU!! I fixed it !! It was stuck..I took out dad's old tool box and tried about 10 Allen wrenches lol.... I now know which one is a 1/4 inch.. I'm so proud of myself !! Thank you thank you thank you!

Thanks bro I never heard of turning the bit backwards for it to work like that and it worked for me I used vegetable oil in it for good measure and spun the drill on the bottom and back in working order 🎉🎉🎉

The Allen wrench trick worked for me. Had to carefully tap it with a hammer to get the wrench to inch a bit and start to dislodge and rotate. It was REALLY clogged.

Thanks, a 6mm Allen key fit mine, 1/4” probably correct size but I had metric set handy. Got it freed up & found one of those corn cob holders (the little pins you stick in corn on the cob for kids) jammed in there. I’ve never had a disposal before this house so new to me.

My disposal got stuck -- was just buzzing, so l pulled everything out under the insinkerator, and there was the trusty Allen wrench underneath the paper bags.
I'm a roommate here in this apt, so wasn't even sure if there was a wrench. Worked like a charm!

Thank you for going over all the possible fixes. I was losing hope because I misplaced the one size allen wrench that had helped me previously. Ended up using the wooden handle of a spatula to move the blades around and it worked! I wouldnt have thought of that without your example!

In my case it hummed but did not grind. I checked the inside to verify everything was clear. Then I used my 1/4” Allen wrench but it would not turn. I poured hot boiled water down the drain and then turned the Allen wrench manually (no drill) and the hot water loosened the clog and now my disposal is in working order. It was my fault for improper disposal of grease and I was fortunate enough that I could clean the pipes and disposal before it was an even larger issue. Never pour grease down the drain, trust me!
I tried to turn it but it won't move? Under the sink and with the disposal tool. Any suggestions?

Mine is leaking from underneath and its connected to the dishawasher so when it was running the other pipe next to it was running water from the top so trying to figure that out

Hey brother, When I crawl under, it looks like my dishwasher is connected directly to the sink overflow outlet that goes over the sink and into the drain. Shouldn't that go directly into the garbage disposal?
My garbage disposal keeps getting jammed. So i use the allen wrench at the bottom and get it "loose". then it works fine for a day or two then gets jammed again. I looked inside and i cant see anything that is stuck inside. why does it get jammed after i loosen it up? i keep going back and for with this thing. If there was something stuck in it, you would think that it would NEVER loosen but it does, then jams up again in a day or two......what is going on????????????
