    Hi good video . i actualy took apart 5 engines and we tool stats . we then ran the products over 11k miles . the clean up was remarkable. the best way we found was to put 2 bottles into half a tank and give it some welly . run it just prior to emergency tank . then fill quart tank premium fuel . repeat times . do this perhaps 15 times a year and the reduction in carbon is around 65% which is huge imo and all.for the sake of a few quid . better performance . more mpg and less repair bills thank you

    I’ve just used ZX-1 in the oil sump and Comma heavy duty diesel treatment on my 5 series tourer which has done 20K and have noticed a difference already, quilter on cold start and idling also improved economy and it seems like I have more torque - I have decided to treat the fuel regularly with Hydra Maximus as it has good reviews , premium deselect is not that common around where I live and it’s usually a minimum 10p a litre more so hopefully the Hydra will sort out the fuel consistency 👍🏻 what are your thoughts as I appreciate your viewpoint.

    I've started using Hydra DPB-100 in my C3 Picasso 1.6HDi that is mainly used for urban driving on supermarket fuel. It has 65k miles on the clock and fuel consumption had risen steeply, I was only getting 42-44 mpg. I'd tried Redex and seen no improvement at all. I'm now halfway through my third tank with the DPB-100 and I've averaged 59 mpg. The engine seems quieter, smoother and pulls much better now too. I would recommend the product to anyone who thinks their engine would benefit from a cleaner. Its the only one I've found that actually works. I have no connection with the company, I'm just a satisfied customer.

      Don't forget that to do a regen, you have to keep at a certain speed between a cetain revs. So my Leon was between 2-2.5k revs for at least minutes. If I accidentally went below or above that rev range, the regen would cancel and I would have to do it all over again.

    • @MikkoRantalainen
      @MikkoRantalainen Месяц назад

      If you have the DPF light constantly on on the dashboard, I would recommend getting it scanned ASAP. At least with VW engines, it means that regen has already failed and if you run it too long that way, the regen will be disabled permanently until the whole DPF has been replaced. Before that happens, it's possible to force the regen on via scan tool (e.g. VCDS) which fixes the problem.

      You can have around year 2000 car if you get one with ALH engine code. If you want a bit more performance, BRM is a good one, too. Some PD engines are also good if they have been *always* used with spec oils (505.01 where the .01 is the really important part). We have a year 1999 car with AJM engine code which is still rock solid even today.
      Even ALH has EGR but there you can use VCDS to re-calibrate it to never open the valve even without blocking it. With PD engines, you should never ever block the EGR because it's used to control the temperature of the turbo which might get damaged if you block the EGR valve and run it fast.
      I used to own a car with engine code AFN and I was really happy with the engine (the car body rusted too fast, though). But according to hobbyists, the ALH and BRM (and I think BRW, too) are even better engines.

      Yea a Millers Ecomax Diesel user here. I thought it was a scam and but i compared it to supermarket stuff, V-Power and Ecomax. V-Power won out by a tiny margin against Ecomax, but basically Ecomax turns Asda Diesel into V-Power at a fraction of the cost. It really does work.

      I use Millers Ecomax additive in my 2 litre Kia Sportage nearly every time I fill up. I've been using it for over 10years on previous cars too. I'm absolutely convinced that the engine runs more smoothly with it and it definitely gives a few more mpg. I think it's rather like a choice between using the expensive diesel at the pumps or using the additive and using the additive works out considerably less expensive
      My fuel of preference is Sainsbury's diesel, which is the only supermarket brand I ever use, and when this is not available I use BP or Shell
      I've no idea why Sainsbury's fuel gives more mpg but it certainly seems to! I used to regularly go on a 300 mile journey to visit a relative and there was a Sainsbury's around the halfway point on the journey. I never previously used supermarket fuels but one time when I was traveling down I was running a bit short of fuel and my sister talked me into filling up there
      On Kia's there is a mpg guage and the mpg suddenly improved within the first 20 miles of filling up there
      I thought at first it was just a coincidence until I repeated it several times with the same result!

    I've had my 2007 Volvo XC90 2.4 D5 for over a year with 73K miles. Initially, it was a bit sluggish, did not like starting an engine lumpy running when cold. I thought I would apply cleaner additives to the fuel tank but, my Volvo specialist (ex.volvo technician) said a big NO !! Just use premium diesel constantly, and engine oil change & filter change every 6 months (or 6000 mls). He recommends BP premium fuel. I followed his plan and my xc90 has been transformed into low emissions, reliable starting, smooth engine car. He inspected all the fuel injectors and reported very clean like new. This fuel works and I don't need any additives. Also, advised a blast up the motorway for 25 minutes every month or so for DPF health.

    I have two of these cars, 2007 2.5T my own and 2011 D5 (used for research!). You need to be very careful when using additives. In petrol engines, additives can affect the smoothness of the engine. It will take ages to go back to where it was. What happens is when you use additives, it can clean the nozzles or make some subtle changes to the injectors fuel injection properties. Then the ECU will take ages to learn the new normal by adjusting the individual injector injection time etc. When I bought my 2.5T S80 several years ago, the engine was very smooth and you don't feel it. Then I used a bottle of additive and guess what, the next day the startup idle was rough and the computer takes a couple of minutes after each cold start to iron out the roughness. This car's engine management software is quite sensitive. Don't mess with the engine using third party products. Let the engine to sort its problems out in its own way. Buy a Vida Dice scanner, it will be a good investment if you are going to use this car for sometime.

And with a car that upon a diagnostic diesel was said to have the DPF 70% blocked and no self regeneration put in a few diff brands of the DPF cleaners with good quality fuels. Touch wood car has run like a dream. What I always think is better to try a bottle for £8-20 than actually changing the DPF £700 - £1200 no brainer. @@robertasviskupaitis9195 Couple of things. People will argue that no diff in premium diesel fuel or supermarket? Watch Fifth Gear Vid on the hub dyno their film crew carrier. Case in point being my own personal belief and from experience either BP Ultimate or Shell V Power diesel fuels yes more expensive short term but long term trust me on this you'll be glad in the end! Both are well formulated and when you use cheaper fuels when you start getting injector, EGR, high pressure fuel pump probs, DPF's etc it costs allot more than using good quality fuel/s. See like petrol has an octane rating diesel has a cetane rating best being BP Ultimate. You may only gain 2-4 bhp but the longer term your car will thank you for it. In addition Forte is prob the Rolex of additives they do many in tank products. DPF cleaner, variable geometry turbo cleaners also does the EGR valve, and a diesel fuel system cleaner and diesel injector cleaner. Usual rule of thumb is every 2-3 tankful's use either of these products in turn and your car should run hopefully like clockwork? Forte is dearer than the other brands but you get what you pay for buy cheap pay twice my motto. But even if you use the cheaper brands the fuels mentioned should theoretically do all the aforementioned for you. And save you pounds of the rip off garage bills particularly the stealers? • @MikkoRantalainen
      @MikkoRantalainen Месяц назад

      DPF cleaners can only help burn off the carbon from the filter but cannot obviously fix the problems caused by low quality engine oil. The most important thing with DPF equipped engines is to always use engine oil that has no particles that end up in the filter. Check the spec and if it says something like "VW 507.01" then the oil you use must have all those numbers. If the oil you would want to use is "VW 507.00" instead, it's not good for your engine. VW oil specs are interesting because they put the most important stuff at the end of the string. Those are not like software version numbers where minor difference is usually okay.

But it is said that it has more Cetane. and that it is made from pure fuel oil. and that cars that are refueled with it run better than cars that are refueled with regular diesel. and that a diesel car that is refueled and it also has lower fuel consumption. but it is recommended that you filter it because there may be debris in the diesel it is claimed

    Thanks for the video -EGR - a terrible invention forced on manufacturers by tree hugging fools, the crankcase rebreather was bad enough, however, on its own may actually provide a little intake lubrication but to then force up to 60% of previously burned sooty air back (unfiltered) directly into your intake manifold combined with oily air, is the kiss of death.. Who can come up with something to lubricate the valves in a Direct Injection Commonrail Turbo Diesel will get my vote. Back in the'80's and 90's I used Redex frequently in petrol motors, you could even get a "shot" or two when they used to have attendants on the pumps, Most garages had a big pump can of the stuff and would add a couple of shots for a few pence when you filled up. After moving away from the UK, I eventually found someone supplying it here in an 8 shot bottle - The only problem is, it costs 70 quid for one bottle. They also sell a one shot one tank bottle but that is 30 quid!

      Not true. Unless it is an alliance site (where the supermarkets are selling the oil majors' fuel) there is a difference. The petrol / diesel spec is regulated but each major develops its own additives. Shell, Esso and BP are the best. Its those additives that are missing or inferior in supermarkets. Ignore the fact that the police are filling up there, that is just cost cutting and that should tell you everything.

    We don't have this low grade "supermaket Diesel" bullshit here. When you get diesel at the petrol station its good diesel fuel period. Well since we don't have cheap garbage fuel to sell the prices are basically the same across all petrol stations in the country so see that as a disadvantage if you want.

  • @andrewdouglas1963
    @andrewdouglas1963 8 месяцев назад

    Sorry but I don't think what that person from shell told you was entirely accurate.
    All fuel sold in the UK has to meet a British and European standard.
    Engine manufacturers spend millions of pounds developing engines to run on this exact fuel.
    Quite often in fuel distribution terminals, all different branded fuels all get pumped into the same tanks and computers keep the stock records.
    So BP, shell, Esso Tesco and Asda fuel is all the same from the same tanks.
    Look at Northern Ireland for example. There are only 3 fuel terminals in Belfast. Exolum, puma and valero.
    They mainly bring in fuel from Petroineos Grangemouth refinery and Valero refinery from Pembroke wales.
    Texaco, maxol, BP Sainsbury's, Asda and all the other forecourts all draw their fuel from these 3 terminals which get their fuel from the 2 mentioned refineries.
    The only difference is the additives added into the fuel line when being loaded onto the trucks.
    Typically the premium fuels have the most additive and the supermarket has the least additive.
    But as I said, engines are designed to run on the basis stuff, not the premium stuff.
    Premium fuel and additives may have some marginal benefits.
    Personally I've only ever bought the basic supermarket diesel.
    I've had egr blockage in an old corolla verso diesel but that is typical of those engines regardless of fuel type.
    Now I've a 3 litre BMW X3 with 140,000 miles on it. No engine problems at all during my ownership from 80,000 miles and using only basic fuel with no additives.

      That's because you probably used an aftermarket filter, which are notorious for breaking down or you have a different problem that caused the filter to clog up. For instance, did you know that if a spark plug isn't working, the car does not try to actively regenerate the filter?
      Long story short, my car has 7 years and 170k km and the filter is fine.

    • @mircea5013
      @mircea5013 3 года назад

      @Greek God yes, diesels also have spark plugs, the difference is that they are usually only used upon cold starts, when the compression isn't enough to create the combustion. Because combustion is only possible at certain pressure and heat levels.
      Instead of trying to be a smartass and argue, you should probably do your homework first.

      @Greek God they're called glow plugs (not spark plugs), they become incandescent for the combustion to take place under low temperature conditions. In my language spark/glow plugs have the same name ("bujii"). The principle is the same, to aid the explosion inside the cylinder.
      Now, leaving terminology aside, and going back to my initial statement: if one of the plugs (glow plugs) are bad, DPF regeneration might not occur. You can check it out.
