Watched it today. Blew me away. The casting was perfect. Don’t remember ever where Christian Bale made me laugh. He even smiles!!! Matt Damon was brilliant too. My favourite scene is when Shelby takes Henry Ford for a spin. I both laughed and cried. My film of 2019.
Jason Joe I totally loved Matt Damon as Carol Shelby and he channeled his character so well. Also loved the clothing style for this period did so well with the cinematography as well. Just such a good movie and so well made.
Christian Bale was HILARIOUS in american psycho, he was funny in american hustle and the fighter too, even in Batman he had very funny lines. But I get your point he always play dark characters I loved seeing him in a warm funny character

I thought that line was extremely forced, just to give the movie faux-drama and make it seem deeper than it is. Alot of the parts of this movie was extremely cliche, I mean please tell me ONE part of the movie you did NOT see it coming every single time.. Tell me ONE refreshing or surprizing or new or unexpected or just ANYTHING where you had to like be tense a little bit, or think, or anticipate.. We all knew Ford was going to win, we all knew all the things that happened.

I don't think that line Matt Damon says was meant to be deep or anything. That was just the character expressing what it's like to drive a car that fast and why they love doing it. The movie is at least bold enough to be sad., showing his death (which I did not expect ), his loosing the race (which I did not expect either). Not everything has to be shocking. Take a great movie like Indiana Jones. Obv in the end he’s going to win and retrieve the grail and beat the Nazi’s. It’s about the character development and wonderful story that gets us there. This movie was touching, wonderful directed and had me on my seat. And honestly, unless you knew the story before you watched this, I was very surprised

As for Joker, that movie is definitely wining a joker if not for best pic then for cinematography or best score. The notion that academy don't like comic book movie is getting old, last year Black panther won so things are definitely changing and joker isn't the typical action filled comic book movie so chance of it winning is very very high.
I really enjoyed everything in this movie, just from the process of making the cars. To the actual races, everything just was awesome, and it felt exhilarating on those races.

In The Dark Knight the “I’m not wearing Hockey Pads” saying was Nolan joking about Darren Aronofsky vision of Batman before the film ultimately went to Nolan. Aronofsky wanted Joaquin Phoenix to be Batman but this suit was gonna be handmade like Amazing Spider-Man 1 but crappier. Made with Pajamas, Hockeypads, Modified Snowmask, etc. But much of his story was used for Batman Begins. And Decades later Joaquin Phoenix channeled some of those unrealized idea into the Joker tonality wise.
This seems like it’s similar to Rush with Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl. I’m not really interested in F1 but I really enjoyed it and this film feels the same way, focusing on two men in the midst of something bigger.
Some of my greatest sport watching moments were watching F1, back in the day I was way into it. But I never watched Rush, because I just feel it would depress me honestly. I am weird like that.
There cars in those days were so gorgeous the Challenger road runner Daytona they over all had the most character but like you said I hate the fact they ruins the names calling those popcorn machines dodges in the 80s

And this film is a WINNER through and through - all the way to the checkered flag. Long after the roar of high octane carburetor mixed engines and the scream of burning rubber and brake gaskets leaves you, you'll be left with a film that took you on a journey through the absolute best of the American dream. And a film that deals with both the lows of poignant loss and the highs of incandescent heroism.

That movie will come out. The Hollywood adaptation will show Chic-Fil-A as the heartless corporation and Popeyes as the all-accepting African American underdogs.
It’s about so much more than that one race tho. It’d be a fine title for this new version, but it wouldn’t encapsulate the gist of the movie any better than FvF does. And at least FvF differentiates the two more easily for people 🤷🏼♀️

A true Mario Kart Playa loves the green shell more than red. The satisfaction of firing off a beautifully angled green while powersliding around the bend, bouncing it perfectly off the wall and smashing Waluigi into the abyss where he watches you drive past with a knowing look of awe, disappointment and respect on his face. Until the Blue shell smacks you out
From the trailer it looks like a FILM. The colors, lighting. If it was shot on digital cameras then hats off to the team for pulling it off. Im going to hear Bales rant on Salvation now, just to get myself in to the Baleness.
"Rush" was also a great movie about racing, which didn't require you to know anything about racing. Truly awesometacular. Kinda surprised Jeremy didn't mention it.
I am normally not fond of my country (Germany) changing original titles but I think in this case they did really well, calling it “Le Mans 66” which sounds way cooler and more interesting. As a law student the “v” always irritates me and I just wouldn’t know why I should have a stake in these two corporations. But Le Mans 66 sounds epic, it sounds like a period piece, like it’s building up to this big even, and alludes to the 60s which always have a great aesthetic in movies

I think the highest praise he gave this movie was "I had to pee for half this movie...never left." It may be a long film, but nothing feels out of place or too long. It is just a fantastic reminder that good films can still be made in this day of reboots/endless sequels/soulless cash-grabs.

I am normally not fond of my country (Germany) changing original titles but I think in this case they did really well, calling it “Le Mans 66” which sounds way cooler and more interesting. As a law student the “v” always irritates me and I just wouldn’t know why I should have a stake in these two corporations. But Le Mans 66 sounds epic, it sounds like a period piece, like it’s building up to this big even, and alludes to the 60s which always have a great aesthetic in movies

A movie based off an actually interesting story not a lot of people know. I’m just happy there are really good, non-comic book movies being made again.

I finally catched it today. Shoutout to my friend, she told me I should watch it... three weeks ago. I finally did and WOW! Christian Bale was mesmerizing!

I think the highest praise he gave this movie was "I had to pee for half this movie...never left." It may be a long film, but nothing feels out of place or too long. It is just a fantastic reminder that good films can still be made in this day of reboots/endless sequels/soulless cash-grabs.
I wouldn’t buy a ford if my other choices were to walk. You need to spend a fortune to get a decent ford. At that point shoot for a Ferrari
