Happened in NASCAR, too. William Byron was an Iracing guy who didn't race real cars until like 15, and is now leading NASCAR in Wins this season.
Iracing is a pricey game especially considering on a sim and computer, I've read a comment about the dude boasting about his dad's money, anyone with money and supportive mommy and daddy will have pretty good chance to make it pro. Especially when your dad pays into everything. These guys stories are way different lmao
@@whodidyoudirty3323yea it's all about money if you want to race in real life but in sim you actually need talent to make it pro
@@whodidyoudirty3323 Money doesn't buy you talent though. You still have to have some talent to win on iRacing. That's why I haven't won a lot. Either way, money only gets you so far. If you don't have the results to back it up, you're not racing anywhere.
@@JeremyLeech LOL anyone who says it's only about money is clueless and has never driven any car around any track. The other guy has no idea what he's talking about.
@@TheMugwump1prove me wrong then . Give 2 kids who never drove around a track before a full sim rig and watch what happens when they get on track and then do the same with 2 novices who never drove on a full rig and watch the difference. You'd be surprised. You're just trying to discredit my original comment about how the kid had real training and a way in .
When I tell you everyone in the theatre was grabbing onto their seats in my theatre during the final act and the amount of crowd reaction there was during the movie was the most I've seen since far from home. It was honestly a super fun movie and also pretty immersive
Far from home?
When he won the race everyone started clapping like the final act was so gooood
😂😂🤦🏾♂️dude , just stop, nobody who thinks far from home was a gripping expiefnce has any right to be talking like that
*no way home
@noahshields507
No way home had previous parkers, so people did react wildly to many scenes in the final act of the film. Though the movie as a whole was meh at best.
Everyone in my theater loved the movie. You could here the reactions throughout the film and especially when it came down to the 3rd act.
*hear
@@jollama hear* my bad
9:29 Le Man's is not the climax for Rush. Rush is about formula 1, mostly the 1976 championship
And it was in Japan too.
also calling Horner a racer lol
@@lilkris3008 Horner did used to race.... in British F2 & F3, and F3000.
@@lilkris3008not entirely wrong. Like the previous comment said, he was a racer before he became team principal
Yes, Rush’s climax is at Fuji speedway circuit, near Mount Fuji in Japan.
i watched this movie and expect nothing. in my opinion, this movie isn't like cinematic masterpiece or anything, but this movie is really enjoyable and thrilling to watch. it's like eating your mum's cooking, it might not be as fancy as restaurant does, but it gives you that nice feeling when eating it.
The movie was good af tbh
Facts
Went it expected basic schlock, left a deleting it was a genuinely decent movie
Imagine if Grand Theft Auto did this!!! 🤣😄😭
Been waiting on gta film franchise Rockstar missing out😮
😂 I’ll be at the first showing just waiting for my ticket 😂
Just exaggerate the gta 6 leak situation and they can say it’s based off a true story
Have you read anything else other than Gran Turismo???? It has Base on a true story after the title.
I was thinking about a GTA 4 movie last week
The part where he is racing at le mans and the car dissassembles to his home racing setup was the exact moment where I forgot I was watching a movie at a theatre and just living in that moment like that experience was the only thing happening. I felt like at that point there could be no dissapointment and was all in on the optimistic vision of the world this movie promotes. I hope he gets to make his version of the Hoolies with EA on tic tok lmao
They took us to the “flow state” or “the zone”.
GInger Spice (Gerri Halliwell) is married to Christian Horner, who was a racing driver, but is actually much more known as the formula 1 team principal of Red Bull racing, as he is one of the most successful team principals. So, Gerri has a lot of experience and knowledge of racing and the effects of it on the family dynamic, therefore I really loved that they casted her as the mom of Jann.
The movie was far better than I expected. I went in with mildly positive expectations. But when it showed him racing in the simulator and an imaginary car appeared around him, I thought it would be extremely corny and I got suckered into watching a bad film. But it really picked up. Great movie, I recommend it.
If you think about it this movie is practically Pixar’s “Cars”😂😂
Young driver barely makes his race by a tongue/headlight
He gets into a big accident that affects him personally
His mentor was in a similar big accident and quits
But ultimately teaches the kid to keep going
Love interest happens …
Final showdown at the big race
(Yes I know the endings are different , but the parallels are funny)
thats literlally underdog in a nutshell
Jackson Storm, is a jerk. But cool at the same time. Listens to Dub Step, so he gotta be cool lol...
This review makes me want to see the film just for the art of it all.
I got a chance to attend the premiere and I liked it so much because I'm a big fan of Motorsports and video games and I grew up playing PlayStation consoles.
Went to another screening on the weekends with my family and they also enjoyed it so much!
Loved this movie! I already saw it 4 times and I’ve ordered the 4k uhd and blu-ray! Archie did great, David harbour was the best part and Orlando bloom was awesome to see him back.
This movie has had insanely surreal timing as just a month before it came out I qualified for my first live event with gran Turismo, making the theater experience absolutely indescribable… plus to make things wilder, at the event which was a month after I saw the movie I actually got to have my birthday dinner with the games creator, Kaz! Plus I got to meet some super fun dudes who have traveled the world for this game, and one that was in a later gt academy as well. It’s all so surreal
I’ve watched this 5 time in theaters and every single time I saw the the audience was hooked including me despite knowing what was going to happen I cried and laughed and literally got up screaming/yelling when Jann placed.
I know one of the stunt drivers, (drove the Lamborghini) and he told me that all of the racing scenes (from the outside) were filmed with all the cars driving one behind the other (off the racing line) and they used cgi to shift them around.
Cool story, bro.
I think the goofiest thing that doesn't make sense unless you know both racing and Gran Turismo is the bit when his dad asks "Why don't you follow the line" and he replies about how "Everyone else follows the line, but if I go a different route, then I can pass them"
To the uninitiated this just seems like "oh he's exploiting the ai in the game" but no, that's ACTUALLY something in racing, the Racing line is not monolithic, the optimal line you use in a qualifying run where you are by yourself is not the same one you use against somebody defending their position against you and sometimes that line you are taught on paper is not the perfect line.
I don't care if it's an unpopular opinion, this film was a masterpiece and I I would not change anything at all. Absolutely nothing
apart from the fact when they're at lemans they make zero fucking effort to hide the fact they're actually at the Hungary GP circuit.
@@J03130so that’s where it was lmao it bothered me so much that final turn on the last lap I was like wait hold up where the chicanes at.
1:55 I mean, that’s how everyone in the UK says Nissan. It’s not just Bloom being weird
Listening to David Harbour talking about movies is always enjoyable
Good review. Such a great movie. Sad that it only got less than a week's run in the IMAX theaters; would love to see it one more time that way.
Honestly when I saw the trailer I had doubts but when I saw it; it was better than I thought. Great film, great adaptation.
9:28 le mans is never mentioned in rush. Completely different racing series
I think Sony missed an opportunity to show off the psvr in this movie. It would make the cg parts more believable
Its actually not only one gamer more and more driver academies and racing team are recruiting sim racers it’s genuinely a way to get involved with the sport in a much cheaper way!
I was honestly blown away watching this movie, only went into it being a car guy and obviously enjoy GT, it's not a masterpiece movie but just such a enjoyable and thrilling movie you can really dig into and feel
Can you make a video called Let Me Cook where you absolutely EAT
9:29 the climax of rush was actually at fuji lol
This was much better than I anticipated.
I was pleasantly surprised at how well-made and entertaining the movie is, despite the liberties taken. It won’t make me forget Rush or Ford v Ferrari, but it’s still a good racing biopic.
Just saw the movie. It was excellent! i dont care if its not actually based on a real story😂
Yeaaah. Rush didnt end at le mans 😂
I thought it was great, Jann wanted the crash in the film so they made it happen the way they could. Yes the timings of events were off but didn’t change the message of the film
WB pulls that box office stunt all the time, so yeah, I'm on GT's side on that one.
Didn't the guy get into a serious wreck irl?
Yes, and it was depicted in the movie
For those curious it was a total of 8,030 hours over the course of 11 years for how often the guy played the game. Sorry don’t know how to spell his name
Bro, how did you get the film footage? Epk don't have any press Kits for gran turismo x
Go and see it!such an Amazing movie,, saw it yesterday.. Still hyped about it!! 10/10
Gta would be a blockbuster franchise 🤔 😮
I have been playing/racing Gran Turismo ever since it came out. I have sunk 1000’s of hours into each one. The parts where it switches from game to track and track to game is something that yes looked cool but unless you’ve mentally done it, doesn’t have the same feeling.
I am glad they captured that the best way they could. The only thing I could compare that scene to would be to put Guitar Hero on the hardest difficulty, closing your eyes, and nailing every single note. You race these tracks so much that it becomes less about the visual queues and more about the audio queues from the engine.
You can close your eyes and run an entire lap through your head and remember exactly where to downshift/upshift.
Buddy sorry to nitpick lemans is not RUSH, RUSH is a f1 movie unless you mean the Nurburgring where niki also crashes but that is not Lemans like Ford V Ferrari and Le mans
Got the accident the other way around. It happened Later in his career, not earlier. It even happened after Le Mans.
9:28 little correction there mate, rush doesn't have a race at le mans because its an f1 race
This was one of the top 3 movies I’ve ever seen. #1 is ATSV, followed by The Batman in #2 with ITSV in #4 just behind GT
Just saw this movie, I loved it!
Post Malone is a guitar hero player who played coachella. He didn't headline but he may some day. Lol
My biggest issue with this movie, is that gran turismo isn't that accurate of a game. Yes you can upgrade your cars. But it's minimal. 4 different turbos, tires, hand brakes and a few other things, but it's almost the same parts for all the cars. You always start in the rear of the pack, and are expected to pass everyone in 5 laps.
this is not my genre of movie whatsoever, but the first time i saw this trailer back in may, i immediately turned to my sister and said “i want to see that.”
Omg it was funny as hell when he won Lámans and everyone in the theater started clapping. Like umm 🤔 this already happened IRL why are we clapping 😂😂😂
Because it's still an amazing accomplishment?!
He won ? I thought he came 3rd in real life
The movie itself is that captivating. Every scene feels so goddamn powerful, helped greatly by the music really elevating the emotional payoff of every single scene. The crash scene and the Le Mans podium scene in particular feel really special. Those 2 scenes are worth an entire movie ticket alone because they’re filmed so fucking greatly
At 8:50 they never even implied that the accident where the spectator died happened because of glazed brakes in the movie. That was only in that initial training section and that is it. Don't go around gaslighting about it being some big disrespectful thing either.
4:30 Foot Soccer?!?! 🤔😕🧐
4:29 it's football ya goofy americans
sry it's a joke 🫶🏻
i love your videos. thanks for making this and you know keep it up with great content.
9:28 Le Mans is not the climax for Rush. Rush's climax was at the 1976 Japanese Grand Prix.
Formula one hasn't touched Le Mans.
Watched the movie tonight and it was good. Even my almost 3yr old son watched. He's really into Pixar Cars, right now. So he loved the racing scenes, he was so focused. It's no Ford vs. Ferrari or Rush, but way better than Need for Spped, when it comes to video game adaptations. Well because it's based on a ture story. Good job Sony. 👏 👏 👏
8:30 the accident happened later in his career but they shifted it around to earlier. I'm assuming this is just a verbal slip-up
“His pops always had a career in fuh-soccer.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This movie was just something else!
“Had more rear shots then the hub” I had to pause the damn video for a couple minutes after that lmao
I'm mad that you corrected yourself from saying foot... and then saying soccer 4:27 ITS CALLED FOOTBALL NOT SOCCER
I hate how they overlook Lucas, the REAL FIRST gt academy kid to go into real racing!
I loved this movie so much!
*"Fut... soccer", yeah, I got that*
Great video, but I got 1 quesiton. Who on planet earth thought that having this cadence in your speach would be a great idea? Jesus Christ!
Well I realized early that this guy isn't a motorsports fan, but I had to stop when he said RUSH climaxed in Le Mans... not even the same class. Also missed details like the mom was played by the wife of not just a racecar driver but team principal of the team that's dominated F1 the last 2 years. Also mixes the fact that the accident happened LATER in his career while in the movie it was EARLIER.
This movie was outstanding.
This is probably the first time in film history that a movie acts as both a biopic and a video game adaptation.
I saw the movie and I really struggle to understand where all the praise is coming from. Talking as a fan of motorsport, this movie is extremely poor. It has extremely unrealistic scenes, the characters seem incredibly stupid sometimes, the physics are terrible, the scenarios fake and they are not even on the track they say they are (Le Mans has a lot of the Hungaroring). I respect differing opinions, but this film got me laughing from start to finish.
Can somone tell me where in the movie "Rush" do they ever race or talk about Lemans.
Rush is about f1 racing in the 70's/80's f1 cars dont race at lemans only gt cars do. Somone didnt do there research very good lemans is never mentioned or shown in "Rush".
They should've cut the "romance" B plot with the girl, took up screentime and his relationship with her held no narrative weight to any of the plot, should've spent more time with his family reactions
Also afaik gran turismo doesn't have "glazed" brakes, so that got my nitpick meter moving, can't speak for other sims though
And the moving of story around happens in these pseudo docudramas, the Freddie Mercury movie comes to mind, with the live aid concert being in response to and motivated the AIDS diagnosis but in actuality the live aid concert happens before Freddie knew he was sick
I ONLY hated the over use with the cliché of winning by a little, they could've been a bit more creative.
Also, was I the only one that didnt get touched by the acting after the accident accident?
It is not at all like a guitar hero player headlining coachella. Lol
Granturismo, if played on a proper driving simulator rig, can be a fairly accurate race driving simulation.
4:20 married to a racer? Sir that is Cristian Horner, redbull F1 team boss. One of the last veteran team bosses (if he still has a job with all the allegations coming out recently)
He said Nissan fine. Rush didn't end at Le Mans, thay was Ford V Ferrari.
Please say Janns last name right. Its more like bruh at end.
comparing GT sim racing to Guitar Hero almost made me stop watching the video. Way to show a huge bias a nd little understanding.
Lesson 1
Don't play the game
With the car in the front in gameplay
Irl that's is only possible if you place your seat behind the car
The last Star Fighter
Just fyi bloom is pronouncing Nissan correctly. You wouldn’t know unless you’re car guy
Am I remembering wrong or did you just say rush was based on le mans? Rush is a F1 movie, a damn good one at that!
“Married to a racer” that’s the team principle for the greatest F1 team on the grid, Redbull.
9:28 le mans is *not* the climax of rush.
Bruh rush is about niki and James, f1 drivers in the 70s don’t even think they mentioned Le Mans
I was expecting this movie to be terrible, and i was correct, this movie was an absolute disaster.
The only thing le mans about it is only the mulsanne straight. The rest is just hungaroring
4:18, horner used to race but doesn't anymore but he is one if the reputable member in the paddock in f1
one of the best films i've seen
9:32 im sorry- Le Mans is the climax point of Rush? absolutely not, no.
duuude i want to see this movie soo bad, great review so happy to hear its a super good film 🎉
absolute garbage movie but the sounds, sounds are fucking amazing
i finally watched this last night and i LOVED it!!!!! i’ve been drag racing for 12+ years so i thoroughly enjoyed the car sounds and the speed 🥰🥰 not to mention, i cried 2-3 times out of sadness and happiness. i can’t wait for my family to watch it as well 🎉🎉🎉
My man said "platforming". Its called getting a podium.
I loved this movie!!
The only thing i don't like about this movie is that they use footage from Hungaroring and tell us we're in Silverstone or La Sarthe, I think with the budget they had they could film it on the accurate locations.. Besides that, it's a great movie!
A true story with ALOT of Hollywood BS shoved all in it
Moving the wreck turned it into Days of Thunder, like Talladega Nights did too. We love our single trope genres.
I hope they can make movie like WRC that would be amazing to watch😁
I thought it was pretty good. Got a ticket for $4 for national cinema day too 😎
2 hours a night for 11 years straight is around 8000 hours
4:29 Did this man really choose "soccer" over "futbol"?? 😂 Lol I don't know how to feel
