STELLANTIS on the BRINK of Disaster in North America?

  • Stellantis is struggling, and its troubles lie specifically with is North American business - home to Jeep, RAM, Dodge and Chrysler. The spotlight is on Stellantis and it seems like things are getting worse. Their third quarter sales in the U.S. were a disaster, falling 20%. For the year they’re down 17%. And investors are heading for the exits.
Critics-including its own dealers-say the company raised prices too high and too fast, and didn’t focus enough on making good products. Its stock has plummeted.
Jeep and Ram are their most valuable brands. So the fact that Stellantis stated they are going to double down on electric cars that are not selling. Getting rid of all of the high-performance, which they are know for, is a foolish move.

How many times over the last 10 years have the car brands/companies changed ownership? The reasons for these types of changes are due to failing businesses. Next, when did the EV future mandates become a thing, and become a political football. All these manufacturers made bad decisions regarding EV's. It's company management and I can't leave out the Unions, the company ownership who have influence due to their % ownership and last but not least the government politicians and bureaucrats thinking they know what needs to be done to "save the planet". Chrystler and Jeep merged many years ago since they were failing. Now, 30 years later they're still failing and closer to the end.

My wife drives a Jeep compass before that she was driving a Dodge Durango. One of my daughters owns a Dodge charger. The other one phones a Jeep Cherokee and come to my home and there is no Nissans Toyotas Fords or Chevrolets or anything else. There is only Mopar so it's kind of crazy to me that that. Carlos Tavares goes and gets rid of proven platforms and proven engines that makes The company money I know he wants to appeal to the green initiative people, but let's face it. EVs really aren't the way of the future unless you don't want to drive very far and worry about them catching on fire and then having to deal with range anxiety and charging anxiety

A $70k jeep is about as well equipped as a $35k anything else. My ‘21 JLU Sport S was $40k three years ago and doesn’t have leather seats or blind spot monitoring or heated seats or lane assist or any other number of features my wife’s ‘20 CX5 came standard with for like $26k, and this was _before_ the price hikes. Even for people who actually take them off road (yours truly included) that’s not justifiable when a $70k rubicon doesn’t have features found on vehicles that cost tens of thousands less. That’s the issue. Lower prices by 30-50% and you won’t be able to keep them on the lot.

Stellantis needs to develop at-least one vehicle for each automotive segment and type (including EVs). The Dodge Charger Hellcat needs to mirror the same market segment as the Chevy Corvette. The Pacifica (Pacifier) need to be replaced by the New Boxier and Spacious Dodge Cavaran & Grand Caravan in FWD & AWD. The Hornet needs to go and be replaced by a CUV tailored for American tastes with interior space and technology like the soon to arrive SCOUT. There are so many other changes I would recommend if anyone would listen especially concerning JEEP.
Great Show keep up the fantastic reporting.

The MSRP prices are 30 percent too high. It’s better to lower the cost by 30 percent and focus on high-volume sales. Right now, people are choosing between buying food or replacing their vehicles. From what I’ve learned from my local dealership (as I heavily maintain all my vehicles), people are keeping their older cars and investing in maintenance to keep them running.

I agree bring back the Charger, Challenger and 300. Those cars were nice. Nice color choices, style and engine choices and even available all wheel drive. I don't think Plymouth should have been eliminated or the Dodge Caravan for that matter. The problem with Stellantis is they aren't designing any new vehicles for the brands. They keep promising bringing back the Dakota, but they never do. Also how many times have we heard about an Imperial concept? The company has beautiful names and history, but it's like they just sit and hope people keep buying trucks and EV. People want HEMI minus the ticking of course, and they want good diesels and other good engines.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we already had the infrastructure established for over 100 years that would power everything with a much more suitable, less expensive, stable, available and reliable fuel source which was also becoming cleaner by the decade, without having to waste trillions of dollars attempting to invent something that's never going to work, simply unneeded, un-asked for and unwanted.
NetZero is a solution invented by Giant Corporations for a problem, invented by Giant Corporations, that will empty the jar marked ‘Environment’ into the coffers...….. of Giant Corporations.
Utterly stupid idea, they won't even generate enough energy to pay for themselves.
The insane green & Net Zero subsidies are very damaging. Subsidies are meant to reduce the price of a product to the consumer. Tortilla`s are subsidised in some Latin American countries so that poor people have something to eat.
In 10 years the world spent 3.8 Trillion Dollars on renewable energy projects and the percentage of energy generated from fossil fuels has been reduced from 82% to 81%, and in that same time frame global demand for energy went up 30%.
