helpful hint. To make tots faster...put half the amount into the 1 gal ziploc. roll it into a rope by compressing it. dump the rope out and cut to length. repeat the process until all you mix is done.
I have made the tator tots and if you take your mixture, place it on a piece of parchment paper and then roll it up into a log shape the size you want for your tots and then let them chill in the fridge for about an hour to firm. Take them out, unroll and slice into desired length. Viola, nice uniform tots without having to form each individual tot. :)
I like to take a coleslaw mix and put 1 cup of that with 1 egg, mix well and add a couple shakes of dried onions, salt and pepper. Fry in avacado oil in approximately 6 small patties. This taste so much like hashbrowns.

I found a great recipe for keto pizza crust 😋 so easy and only 3 ingredients! 4 eggs 8 Oz of cream cheese and 3 cups of mozzarella cheese I soften the cream cheese and then put in the 3 eggs and mix with the stick blender then add in the 3 cups of mozzarella cheese. No need to melt the mozzarella cheese just add it in after mixing the eggs and cream cheese. Then spread it on a cookie sheet with parchment paper and put it in the oven for about 8 minutes on 425° that's it! I sometimes make it in the early afternoon and then add my stuff for the pizza on top and then bake it for another 8-9 minutes on 425 Enjoy!! I wish I could post some pictures of it! 🎉
So I tried something interesting as my Son loves his hasbrowns. I like Kohlrabi as a substitute for Potato, so I thought about it and grated a whole kohlrabi, mixed in spices, a little almond flour & parmesan cheese, (no egg) and then in my chaffle maker put a layer of mozz cheese, let it melt then put my kohlrabi mixture and put more mozz cheese on top...let it cook for 10 minutes...super important or until crispy. cool on rack, put sour cream and chives and serve up with breakfast or whatever. It comes out like a cheesey potatoe latke. Maybe some of you may enjoy this. I didn´t use all of the Kohlrabi, but I did blend it all at once and put the left over in a bag to keep in the fridge for quicky hasbrowns.

Mashed swede is good too. You need to steam your cabbage first, shredded quite small. Fry the onion a bit on its own then add the mixed cabbage and cauli/swede. Cook it slowly for quite a while, turn and mix a few times as it browns. Both look delicious to me and I’ll definitely give them a shot! You made a good point about accepting dishes as they are, which I decided to do early on in keto. Most keto dishes aren’t going to replace anything but are tasty in their own right when you aren’t comparing them to something else.
Absolutely! I never knew, until after I concocted this meal that I enjoy it more than my traditional pasta dinner. I would par microwave a frozen bag of cauliflower rice and drain out the fluid. Put it in the bottom of a crockpot. Cover it with frozen meatballs and or sausage patty’s and strips of peppers. Pour an 8 ounce can of Hunts garlic, basil and oregano sauce (which only has 2 net carbs per 1/4 cup and costs less than a buck) and cook on low for a few hours. Before done cover with mozzarella cheese and finish til melts. My favorite, and totally guilt free meal!
I just ran across your channel a few days ago while looking for low carb food that wasn't boring. Wow! This is a gold mine. Thanks for sharing, you guys are just too cute. I enjoy the videos for the entertainment as well as the content.
When I make the tater tots, I pack them into a 24-cup mini muffin baking pan, which I spray with pan spray first. Sure does save a lot of time and headache, lol
With your suggestion I made these with broccoli. Used a food processor and then microwaved the broccoli until tender. I said to heck with trying to make them look like tater tots and used a small ice cream scooper instead. Perfect size and delicious, particularly since garlic salt was added 😁
I am T2D and cant eat a lot of carbs, my daughter make me some cauliflower Tater tots and they are great. We use a juicer to remove most of the water from the cauliflower then toast it on the stove and it works great. Thanks, and love watching you both experiment with things.
Great video!! You both brighten my day! Thanks so much for these great ideas and the fact you are both so honest in your opinions. Not to mention, you give us suggestions on how to tweak them! Love you both!❤️❤️
I’ve heard that Jerusalem Artichoke is a good sub for potatoes. I’m thinking that a jerky shooter or a sausage stuffing attachment for a KitchenAid mixer might help in shaping the tots quicker. Make a rope and slice off increments. Thanks again for taking one for the team and tasting against the real thing (lol). I’ve tried the commercial veggie tots and was not a huge fan. Congratulations on the new sponsor too.
Thank you for all the encouragement and practical advice you provide to so many people. I have a substantial amount of weight to lose, and your honesty and vulnerability definitely resonate with me and help motivate me to stay the course. I have an observation that I have been thinking about sharing with you for a while, but I am concerned that it could be interpreted as critical, which it isn’t in any way. I suggest raising the camera you use in your videos a couple inches. In almost all your videos the camera shoots straight up your noses. I’ve dabbled in photography and one of the most important compositional considerations is to never shoot upward into someone’s nose. I think this applies to videos too. Please don’t take this as anything to make you feel self conscious. You’re both wonderful, lovely people. It’s just a tip from a very appreciative hobbyist photographer.
@@ketotwins I sincerely hope it is taken constructively. I saw your video about insecurities about photography and agonized about saying something. I love your channel and hope you give it a try and maybe make your content even better.
Love this tater tot/nugget thing. I'm a fan of cabbage, but you're right. I tried caramelizing first then adding egg. Better. However, I think for those kind of hashbrowns cooked spaghetti squash gives a closer feel to potato.
I LOVE cabbage as a replacement in rice stir fries. I cook the cabbage (chopped) in a pan with butter or ghee until desired crispiness. Ooommmmggggg.....my surprise at the utter deliciousness!!!! So versatile. Add anything you like!
Pretty cool! I did the cabbage hasg once before, but I used Sauerkraut :D I also dropped in the pork panko and cheese as well (I think it was a parm/romano combo)..... pretty good! Nice cookware, too.
I made the tater tots and they were really good mine came out like salmon Pattie’s without the salmon I added bacon and onion to mine also a lil paprika
Right on K Twins, Totally agree, CAN'T replicate a potato dish, but you CAN make a great tasty and satisfying dish in the process. K Twins, u r the bomb. Oh, also concerning the cabbage dish? Well yeah, brown the cabbage and onions first (that should rid much of the moisture), then combine in a bowl with the egg and a melty cheese like cheddar or mozz. Then make waffles in the Dash Waffle deally bob. Mmmmm, great side dish for along side you steak, burger patty or whatever. two thumbs up, Rocket
It was fun watching you two cook the potato replacements. Luckily for me, I didn't eat many potatoes before keto so I don't miss them. Those pans are beautiful I'm almost afraid to look because I'm sure they are expensive.💜
OMG! I love you two!!!!! I nearly pee'd my pants, you are so funny. I love your hacks. Thanks for sharing, brightening my day (work is stressful and you two help make it better) and giving your time for testing recipes. 💖❤️
loving Sarah's hair in this vid.The tater tots look like too much work. I did keto for about 8 months and lost about 50 pounds. Fell off during COVID and now trying to get back on track.
Love this gorgeous, safe cookware and your two recipes!!! I like the idea of caramelizing the cabbage first. I make a veggie tot with almond flour, mashed steamed carrot & chopped steamed broccoli & a little bit of garlic powder, baked. As you state in your video, if you accept these recipes for what they are, and not true replacements, they're great 😁
I made the "viral recipe" chicken nuggets made from canned chicken and really liked them so I'm sure I'll like these "faux tater tots". Cheers from Ontario, Canada. I've been back on Keto since March. I always ask myself after a week "why did I even go off Keto", especially when it's such a yummy WOE. :)
I am so happy to see different brands supporting you and your recipe endeavors. You go on ahead and keep manifesting what it is you want. I 100% miss potatoes in all varieties. I think radishes are my favorite substitute for a few different kinds. Oh those all sound like great options. I love watching y'all brainstorm. I have done a broccoli "rice" and cheese for a chaffle and it was delicious. I couldn't see why they felt cabbage was a replacement for hash. I am sure it tastes great, but a bit of a stretch. Have a great weekend.
3:34 "It's for science. We're not enjoying it." LMAO. It's really cool you got a set of cookware that you love! I just finished putting a new seasoning on my cast iron skillet, and that dude shines like glass. I'm pretty excited to start using it again.
@@ketotwins I just dove down the rabbit hole of Maria Emerich's egg white bread. There's a lot of experimenting happening in my kitchen lately (and a lot of failures). The keto science is important!
@@messengeroftruth17 I just had a thought. If you're not using a good metal spatula on your skillet, you should invest in one. I've even gone so far as to sharpen the edge of mine so that it really gets under whatever I'm cooking. Wooden utensils just aren't up to the task like metal ones are. After you're finished cooking, a splash of water while the skillet is still hot can assist in loosening everything for easier cleaning. Set the pan back on heat to dry it off completely and after that, a super fine slick of oil across it to maintain the season.
Great video Ladies!! Thank you!🙏😀 I have seen there is a corn flavoring that can be added in certain recipes like keto corn bread. So I searched and found that Amoretti Premium Extracts has a potato flavoring (they also have many other extracts) that can be added to substitute potato recipes. Hmm.... That might be nice and make the recipe taste more like potatoes. However, it is $66.15 for 4 ounces (they've sold out of the 2 ounce bottles). Thank you again for the great video!! 😊🙏💖
I just made bacon and have the fat and 3-of-6 rashers, as well as a smallish green cabbage, too. Spices depend on how I feel, but I do love the world of flavor open to me! I'll slice the purple onion from pole-to-pole to leave lovely strands, rather than cutting across the equator and having them melt into the sauce and create an odd color, heheh. This is also delicious with brats, Polish, or ?
I used 3 cups cauliflower, 2 3ggs and cheddar cheese with onionpowder garlis powder and smoked paprika. Baked in oven for 15 minutes on 350 then turn 180 degrees and broil on low for 5 minutes. 2 grams net carbs
Budget Bytes has a cabbage pancake that is Japanese inspired ... Okonomiyaki. Super delish but recipe contains flour. I haven't made them since keto but I think they'd taste great with coconut flour. Her recipe calls for soy sauce and Sriracha mayo.
My sister and I were literally just talking about that the thing we missed the most was bread and potatoes/French fries! I watched a TikTok video on RUclips of Lowcarb Love making a chaffle with cauliflower rice. She called it a hash brown, I think.
Love your new set of cookware,I decided to try improve my health with better choice,I replaced my cooking utensils with silicone, plastic should never be used with handling hot food,we can store food in plastic containers as long as food is completely at room temperature, but can’t reheat in them.Stainless steel Is ok,I bought silicone bowl and pan covers to put on glass bowls when reheating in microwave ,also bought silicone steamer and have many molds to make bread or buns etc... Love all your videos and thank you for sharing all these hacks with us
Some extra information. Potatoes are high in B6 vitamin by 30%. B vitamins are somethings we crave when under stress. This is why fries and tots are a go to. B vitamins make you feel good. No other vegetable comes close in percentage. Broccoli 9% Asparagus 7% Brussel sprouts 11%. Sweet Peas are 27% but they are not keto friendly. Thanks so much for sharing Keto on RUclips.
The cookware is beautiful. We have pampered chef products. I enjoy watching your channel and appreciate your collective effort on your content. Im not big on tater tots or hash browns but I do miss mashed potatoes....thanks for trying the recipes for us. I feel like it would save me time and effort doing it myself based on your reviews. God bless.
I make the cabbage and onions with butter and spices (no egg or cheese) as a hash all the time. Your guesses are right in line with my experience. The hash doesn't need to be formed as it can be loose so it really needs no binder. It allows the cabbage and onions to get caramelized and release a lot of moisture. I eat it with over easy eggs so that the yolks end up being the sauce. Of course it is not starchy/fluffy but it is flavorful. Yup, you do need to cut it finer for it to work best. As for the tater tot mixture, I've used nearly the same to make flat little patties that can fry quickly, well and crispy (easy) as well as make nests in ramekins for baked eggs (cute but way too much work for the same flavor profile). So you too discovered thin and crispy works out for that kind of mixture, just frying in a pan will get you similarly crisp on both sides. It was validating to see you go through my earlier pain of experimentation. Good luck on future refinements and other endeavors!
the cabbage hash idea is very similar to what they do in Korea where they take thinly shredded cabbage and onions and mix them in a big pitcher of scrambled eggs to make a cabbage pancake which they top with ketchup and sugar (you could use granulated keto "sugar" and then serve it on buttered toast in a sandwich. - so you could use keto bread, toast and butter it.. I've done that and it's awesome! in Korea sometimes they top the cabbage pancake with fried ham or even (Spam) or bacon and cheese and use that in the sandwich. It's Korean street fast food.. tons of videos on RUclips for it and I did find some keto versions of it
I found when using radishes in keto cooking cut them how intending to use them, such as chunks for potato salad… shreds for hash browns etc., soak them in salt water over night. The harshness softens.
Love this video! You two are just too 😊. Love the recipe, both of them. I cAn t wait to try them out. You have a new sub as of now. Thanks for sharing!
I might have to try these, cooking the cabbage and onion first (as suggested). Love the new cookware..I am using cookware that my father sold in between WWII and the Korean Conflict when he wasn't in the Navy. They don't make anything that would last this long anymore...I could give it to my son when I croak and it would still be good. As for what you said about the food looking like the real deal...Every time I ever tried to make egg rolls the filling was good but my egg rolls never achieved that lovely tapered look. Mine always looked like burritos.
@@willo8794 The stamp on the bottom say "Miracle Maid" all clad ( I think..they are quite used and some of it has worn down over the last 70 years). Some of the bakelite handles have cracked a bit but the cookware is super tough. And if you use it properly most things don't stick.

Love these recipes because they have the veges I’m trying to eat more of I’m also adding some Lupin flour to increase crunch
I just ran across your channel a few days ago while looking for low carb food that wasn't boring. Wow! This is a gold mine. Thanks for sharing, you guys are just too cute. I enjoy the videos for the entertainment as well as the content.
Glad you found us Rick!
When I make the tater tots, I pack them into a 24-cup mini muffin baking pan, which I spray with pan spray first. Sure does save a lot of time and headache, lol
We used grated zucchini, and drained it extremely well. Amazing good. Used just like potatoes a little sweeter.
That music playing when making the tater tots was way too cute! So whimsical! So different from other channels. Loved it!
Great video girls! 👌 I love your new pans too. Congrats on the new sponsor!
Aww thanks Sally!! -Em
I luv how focused she is when making the tot shape
🤣
I love your honest comments. “They get bigger and bigger, because I get lazier.” That is me to a tee.
Great video!! You both brighten my day! Thanks so much for these great ideas and the fact you are both so honest in your opinions. Not to mention, you give us suggestions on how to tweak them! Love you both!❤️❤️
Aww thanks Thea, your delightful comments brighten our day too 🤗🤗
Thanks!🤗🤗
Thanks for the tips!
@@ketotwins I sincerely hope it is taken constructively. I saw your video about insecurities about photography and agonized about saying something.
I love your channel and hope you give it a try and maybe make your content even better.
I love when you experiment and make low carb replacements. Thank you for sharing with us I just love you girls. 💕
❤️❤️🤗🤗
Can't wait to try these, and so looking into the pans. Thank girls ur always fun to watch
Wow… new to keto
I love potatoes… eating real potato would definitely be a trigger for me. Thank you for trying this for us💞
Thank you for the recipe, I will try and cook it for my daughter and I. We’re both on keto. Love your videos💕💕👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Our family has been enjoying broccoli tots and zucchini tots for years. Way before keto. I have adapted my recipes for Keto and the fam loves them.
I love how real you guys are! Your videos always make me smile 😄
I love you two. You two are so funny and real. Thanks for doing all those recipes. And what a blessing to have your sister right there with you
Love this tater tot/nugget thing.
You ladies are truly winners and are helping so many to become winners too..
🤗🥰🤗 thanks Donna!!
Right on K Twins,
Totally agree, CAN'T replicate a potato dish, but you CAN make a great tasty and satisfying dish in the process.
Mmmmm, great side dish for along side you steak, burger patty or whatever.
two thumbs up,
Rocket
It was fun watching you two cook the potato replacements. Luckily for me, I didn't eat many potatoes before keto so I don't miss them. Those pans are beautiful I'm almost afraid to look because I'm sure they are expensive.💜
OMG! I love you two!!!!! I nearly pee'd my pants, you are so funny. I love your hacks. Thanks for sharing, brightening my day (work is stressful and you two help make it better) and giving your time for testing recipes. 💖❤️
Thanks for thinking we are funny Kasey! 😂We appreciate you taking the time to watch our videos 🤗
@@ketotwins EVERY DAY!!! 💝
Closest thing to potatoes I tried that was keto was a French fry recipe from low carb love
loving Sarah's hair in this vid.The tater tots look like too much work. I did keto for about 8 months and lost about 50 pounds. Fell off during COVID and now trying to get back on track.
Best KETO CHANNEL on RUclips. These two have more talent in there little pinky. Gonna try tater tot recipe chaffel style.
Aww you are too kind, thank you!
Hi from Durham Region!
Thanks Misty! We are so grateful for your support!! -Em
3:34 "It's for science. We're not enjoying it." LMAO. It's really cool you got a set of cookware that you love! I just finished putting a new seasoning on my cast iron skillet, and that dude shines like glass. I'm pretty excited to start using it again.
What do you mean you put a new seasoning on your cast iron skillet? I find mine hard to clean. How do you clean your skillet?
Thanks Craig! It’s all for science, keto science 🤣
@@craigslitzer4857 yup, i'm using big wooden spoons ...i will def try the splash of water while it's still hot - thank you!
Thanks for the suggestions Lisa!! -Em
Oh, girls! Make the cabbage hash without the eggs, it is YUM!!! As always, great vid!! Love you!! 🥰💖
I ordered an extract the taste like mashed potatoes, I ordered it online on Amazon and it really does help give you that potato paste.
What brand?
Thanks for being honest. I love your reviews.
Love the green pots, I might get some too.
They are beautiful!
Budget Bytes has a cabbage pancake that is Japanese inspired ... Okonomiyaki. Super delish but recipe contains flour. I haven't made them since keto but I think they'd taste great with coconut flour. Her recipe calls for soy sauce and Sriracha mayo.
Thank You. I've been looking for a hash brown replacement.
Hey love your videos for me for hash browns I use rutabaga shredded and cook just like you would regular potatoes add your fav seasoning your set
My sister and I were literally just talking about that the thing we missed the most was bread and potatoes/French fries! I watched a TikTok video on RUclips of Lowcarb Love making a chaffle with cauliflower rice. She called it a hash brown, I think.
I just saw that. Going to try it😉
Interesting! We will have to check that out ! Thanks for sharing Angie!
Love all your videos and thank you for sharing all these hacks with us
Thanks Odette!!!
I have used zucchini for hash and it works and tastes great!
I use a potato ricer to squeeze out the excess water from the cooked cauliflower.
God bless.
Thanks so much Brian!
Thanks for the tips Lori!!
I just watched "Low Carb Love" do a cauliflower rice with cheese in a waffle maker to make a hash brown. I'm trying it tomorrow
I love you two💕thanks for trying all these recipe options. I really do take your opinions to heart.
❤️❤️ thank you! That means a lot to us! -Em
Have you tried kholrobi for potato recipes? Please do something with it in the future. I have not been successful to find kholrobi. Thank you.
I made the "tater" tots and really enjoyed them. My dog absolutely loved them, probably because of the cheese.
I’ve used radishes to replace potatoes, shredded they make good hash browns or corn beef hash.
the cabbage hash idea is very similar to what they do in Korea where they take thinly shredded cabbage and onions and mix them in a big pitcher of scrambled eggs to make a cabbage pancake which they top with ketchup and sugar (you could use granulated keto "sugar" and then serve it on buttered toast in a sandwich. - so you could use keto bread, toast and butter it..
I've done that and it's awesome! in Korea sometimes they top the cabbage pancake with fried ham or even (Spam) or bacon and cheese and use that in the sandwich.
It's Korean street fast food.. tons of videos on RUclips for it and I did find some keto versions of it
They also make them with kimchi too, which kicks up the flavor.
Excited about the sponsor of your video!
I found when using radishes in keto cooking cut them how intending to use them, such as chunks for potato salad… shreds for hash browns etc., soak them in salt water over night. The harshness softens.
Love the cabbage and egg, Glad I found you girls doing this awesome stuff thanks so much for your beautiful vlogs!
Great video. Congrats on the cookware!!
Just hilarious! It's too bad you girls can't post videos hourly. It'd really make my day🤣🤣
We don’t want to scare you away 🤣
Love this video! You two are just too 😊. Love the recipe, both of them. I cAn t wait to try them out. You have a new sub as of now. Thanks for sharing!
I made some tater tots out of broccoli and I liked them way better than the cauliflower one and very easy recipe.
There is a silicone form for making Ice cubes you can slip into a soda bottle...smash that tot mix into , turn out, cut into size...easy peasy
Is it called Guardian Service? I have pots that belonged to my late Mother in law. I think her husband sold them when he got out of the service.
@@willo8794 The stamp on the bottom say "Miracle Maid" all clad ( I think..they are quite used and some of it has worn down over the last 70 years). Some of the bakelite handles have cracked a bit but the cookware is super tough. And if you use it properly most things don't stick.
I know he told me once that a full set of that cookware sold for over 500 dollars in 1950. Pricey stuff.
Did your Dad sale Miracle made. My grandfather sold that brand. Have one of the stove top biscuit pans and a griddle.
I love that cookware especially because it’s non toxic now I have to check if it’s affordable
