Given what we know now with Legends Arceus, since the Arceus we know turned out to be a small fraction of Arceus’ existence, there’s always the possibility that Arceus could create multiples of these fractions
Guess Arceus is a case of "I'm god, I can do and be whatever I want. I can follow some kid around to beat up my creation while millions pray for salvation in vain."
It's still a single entity. Transcendent entities, lookin at you DC and Marvel, frequently are capable of interacting with lower dimensions with what is basically a sliver of their attention, but since they're simply more everything than we are, a sliver of their attention still represents an entire mind capable of absurd feats. Like imagine if you could type an essay with one hand and write a completely different essay out with your other hand flawlessly without missing a key or pencil stroke. That's what it's like. You're still one person though. Catching Arceus is like catching one perspective of Arceus. If you were capable of turning in the correct direction that you can't even fathom, you'd see the rest of Arceus clearly not actually contained by your pokeball. This dimensional theory stuff gets COMPLICATED.
Mew is considered a one of a kind because there were originally an abundance of mew. Thing is, mew is considered the ancestor of all Pokémon because it evolved into them. The mew evolved into other Pokémon until there was only one left. This is the only mew left in the Pokémon universe. That was just the canon story of why there is only one mew.
the mew in the mewtwo and lucario movies were two different mew. the mew living in the tree of life is linked symbiotically to the tree. it dies if the tree dies and vice versa. also it stays around that area confirmed by its presence in the ancient past of that area. it can't possibly be the same mew who fought mewtwo, also it would've remembered ash since canonically that only happened "less than a year ago"
The "Arceus created many Mews and the many Mews turned into all the Pokemons" is not canon. It is a fan theory. Mew and Arceus both being the first pokemon is a plot hole in the pokemon franchise, that many fans try to explain away with this theory. But Mew holds the genetic material and codes of all pokemon in its dna and can transform into every pokemon, even the aliens and the ones from other dimensions like Necrozma and Eternatus. Arceus is a pokemon and Mew can transform into Arceus and back, so it must have Arceus genetic codes in its dna, which means, that it probably was around before arceus existed and that it has somehow given birth to Arceus and all the aliens from all the other dimensions someday BUT Arceus is believed to have hatched from a mysterious egg in nothingness and to then have created time and space and all pokemon by itself. So Arceus has to have been there before anything else including Mew and since it's the creator of all pokemon it has to be the creator of Mew. But if Arceus created Mew and Mew created Arceus, then who really is first? Did Mew exist before arceus, before time and space and give birth to the Egg in Nothingness? Did Arceus willingly put his own genetic code in Mew, knowing that it could replicate not only arceus itself but also all its powers? And what is with the Anime hinting, that there where Animals before the world was full of pokemon and that the animals slowly vanished as the number of pokemon increased? How do the people of the pokemon world know about dogs and elephants, cats and fish? Why was there generic insects like butterflies in the anime? Why was there a generic bird on the head of weepinbell in its first card artwork? Takeshi Shudo, the story writer of the pokemon anime actually wanted to include real animals into the pokemon world. He wanted not Mew, not the later existing Arceus but Lugia to be the mother of all pokemon and a real t-rex skeletton to be found in the pokemon world and then get the minds of all the people in that world blown by the fact that there was animals in their world before there where pokemon but the pokemon company didn't allow him to finish and publish his story and they changed everything and then forced him to write something else and use the changes they made, which for him personally "ruined his story" and mentally broke him so mich that he consumed so much drugs and alcohol that he died from it. This actually is documented. So through multiple people constantly making changes in the story of pokemon and through a multitude of ideas about the origin and world of pokemon melting together many plot holes including mew and arceus both being the first ever pokemon to exist where created.
got mine through pokemon go for free. There are ways to do it without spending. You will need a kind soul to let you keep theirs in your home while you transfer yours in, though.
As far as I can tell legendaries and mythical aren´t the same thing: Legendaries: They´re literal forces of nature that helped to shape the world and/or heroes for humanity/pokemon/an entire region. Mythical pokemon: They are really powerful pokemon with unique abilities that are so uncommon to be seen that people in the pokemon world even doubts of their existence to some extend. Usually considered almost like minor deities for specific towns and cities in the past and are literal representations of certain myths from the real world (like muses, aliens, time travelers, etc)
@@amogus5557 No. The definition that I used is accurate because the existence of the legendaries as the pokemon that shaped the world or saved an entire region is something acknowledged as a fact in the pokemon world. And they´re literal representations of forces of nature (like groudon, kyogre, yveltal, dialga, palkia, etc) or heroes of humanity or an entire region (like Zacian, Zamazenta, ho-oh, the tapus, etc). Mythical pokemon are more literally in line with the concept of a myth like Celebi which is basically a time traveler, deoxys being basically an alien, magearna being basically the embodiment of the myth of the philosopher stone, hoopa being a genie in a lamp, meloetta being a muse, etc. They are all pretty powerful pokemon with the trait of having a pretty specific theme for their unique abilities (instead of broad concepts as an entire force of nature) that are usually associated with specific places, towns or cities for the most part, not the entire world or an entire region. And unlike legendaries, they´re so rare that people in the pokemon world even doubts of their existence (just like the things from the myths that I mentioned).
@@alphagamer9505 No. They aren´t "even more rare legendaries". They are different concepts. What differentiates them is what they represent. Legendaries are literal representations of forces of nature or heroes of humanity (or an entire region) and mythical are more like representations of myths that you heard around the world and that have really powerful abilities but with a pretty specific theme attached to their myth. Not cryptids and not "rare legendaries" but rather literal representations of certain myths.
I know this is older now, but the release of Pokemon Legends Arceus actually *sort of* disproves some of this. It is implied in the game at the end that the Arceus we get, and presumably the ones in all games, are not *the* Arceus, but avatars or representations of it gifted to us by the true Arceus. This explains why we are even able to capture the creator of everything and why it can be defeated by other Pokemon, and also suggests that while there is one true Arceus, there could potentially be multiple of the avatars we get, of the thing we know of as Arceus. For me personally, this also brings into question the existences of other mythicals and legendaries and the questions of if they are the true being or just avatars or representations of them, especially for the ones that are essentially gods themselves and should be the only of its kind, like Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, perhaps even Jirachi or others with powers that make sense to be able to do that. For older things, the Sin-Joh ruins event already brings in the possibility that all Pokemon could have duplicates created by Arceus. Is there only one Jirachi? Or has Arceus created multiple just so trainers can use them? Perhaps all of the random deliveries of mythical Pokemon are gifts created for the player by Arceus and not non-canon things?
While palkia and giratina can probably create avatars of themselves, I doubt dialga and some of the others can. Still does feel weird that a pokemon that can erase almost anything from existence can be beaten by anything a few levels higher
@@TDArulesclub4 The Meloetta Arc is easily my favorite part of the BW anime. 1. You've got my favorite Mythical Pokemon, and 2. The amount of DP fanservice. Plus Ash got to battle Giovanni which is pretty neat, even if the battle was really short. The only real negative I can think of off the top of my head for this Arc is that it introduced one of Ash's worst rivals ever: Cameron (or as I like to call him: Camoron).
I love how legendary and mythical Pokémon are caught in Pokémon go. They either make you do a difficult raid that requires a lot of people and grinding or you have to complete a challenge that usually takes quite a while, especially for someone who doesn’t play too often. It makes them feel as rare as they seemed when I played the games as a kid
Then you see the pictures of accounts where they have 10+ of each legendary and mythical because of how many raids they’ve been in. I get your point though, I don’t play Go that much, occasionally I’ll try to see what raids near me have people playing but usually not that much luck.
As someone who's lost count of how many deoxys they have and also owner of a shiny deoxys, I can safely say that mythical pokemon don't feel that rare. Although that's just because deoxys was available in raids. There are other mythicals like shaymin where you only get 1 or 2 and that something I appreciate because they're not so easily or frequently obtained

I always assumed the Mew from the first and eighth movie were different individual Mew; the one from the first movie is super strong and focuses more on saving the world, and is implied to be Mewtwo’s mother. The one from the Lucario movie uses Transform a lot, and is connected to the Tree of Beginning. As for Keldeo... I think there could be more than one. The lore of Keldeo says that the one that was adopted by the Swords of Justice had lost its parents in a devastating forest fire, implying they are capable of reproducing. Manaphy I completely agree on; there is definitely more than one Manaphy Egg out there, and since the Ranger games could be considered to be something of a side-canon to the main games that are still canon, then yeah, there’s more than one Manaphy.
To further drive home that the movie 1 and movie 8 Mews are different, they have different voice actors even though the movie 1 Mew's voice actor worked on movie 8.
Genesect game data indicated there were several genesect because it literally states it is a modified fossil Pokémon brought back to life and upgraded and that Team Plasma has been perfecting Genesect and originally each drive was made for a single genesect to embody so that implies there was suppose to be a squad of them as seen in the anime movie one with each drive and one the shiny one without a drive.
My theory is that Giratina is the true creator and Arceus got all angry and crap so now Giratina mostly just chills in it’s perfect reverse world where it can protect the world it created from afar while Arceus gets all the credit. I mean if Giratina wasn’t the “true god” then why wouldn’t Arceus wake up earlier to stop Giratina from dragging Dialga to the reverse world in the 11th movie? Also Arceus had a much closer brush with death than Giratina.

About Mew, I thought it was Birdkeeper Toby who once addressed this in one of his Evolution Tree movies: Mew in the prehistory was a common Pokémon but almost died out later on in time.
Mew definitely used to be an entire species that evolved over time into all other pokemon. I can't remember exactly where from but I distinctly remember a movie or episode of anime that showed a bunch of mew flying around in a flashback "history" type retelling

The only 1 from both this and your legendary video I would disagree with is mew, it does have the ability to transform and does contain the DNA of every living pokemon, the only physical and biological way that could happen would be if mew evolved(evolution over thousands of year)/transformed/bread or however it may of happened into each of the pokemon we know today! I feel like there could be multiple Meloetta, maybe in the fairly common or few of a kind tiers. My theory is the fact that many different songs in the Pokémon world have been inspired by Meloetta. But, unlike Keldeo, it's not known as a world traveler. In a similar point to Shaymin, it's a little suspicious how there are just random NPCs in the core series of games that just know how to teach Meloetta Relic Song. So it's possible the Meloetta population, although not huge, does include more than one kind.
I have always viewed the act of mythicals being handed to you the equivalent of it walking up to you and asking to work together since it recognizes you as a chosen trainer.
Yes you are the only trainer that has mythical mon‘s. Guess what millions of trainer exists with mythical mons so how you explain that? And i don’t know how a piece of data can choose a trainer in the first place. PS: Santa Clause doesn’t exist either!
@@ThrE3-GeS 1. Alternate dimensions are a big deal in the pokemon universe, an easy way to explain how all of us can have legendary and mythical pokemon is that none of us exist in the same universe. Proof has been there since fire red/life green where you collect a reality bending orb that lets you trade with another dimension, but its made even more evident by ultra beasts and rainbow rockets inclusions in later titles. @@WhenDevilsDuel what do you mean in FR LG the rubin orb and sapphire orb to trade with the other gen 3 games via timecapsle? That’s not another dimension!
My personal hypothesis is that Arceus can have multiple incarnations, or avatars, though there is only One, cosmologically speaking. As with many gods in many cultures on Earth, he can incarnate into physical forms whenever he wishes so. Throughout ages he might have existed 'multiple times'. I believe something similar can be said for other legendary and mythical pokémon. (Though not all of them)
I feel like with the release of CT you need to update the rarity tiers for the “how rare are the legendary Pokémon” video. Maybe not an outright complete redo of it, but updated rankings based on the encounters and mechanisms of CT
While I'd like to hear JPR's opinion on how dynamax adventures impact the information in that video, I personally don't think that dynamax adventures can be used for the same reason that Hoopa rings and wormholes can't be used. In the Crown Tundra, it mentions an appearance of a wormhole exactly like the one from USUM, implying that the legendaries in the dynamax adventures showed up because of that. The only changes to the previous video would be the inclusion of new legendaries and maybe bumping the Swords of Justice down a tier.
Regarding Mew, it's also worth noting that according to the journals found in the Pokémon Mansion in Cinnabar Island, Mew gave _birth_ to Mewtwo. There's a lot to unpack about the lore of Mew and Mewtwo, such as that its really only in the anime and manga that Mewtwo is outright stated to be a clone, whereas the game lore could be interpreted a number of ways, but if Mew is confirmed capable of giving birth, then that implies that there are more than one out there.
legends arceus even proves that arceus is one of a kind as when you capture him it says "received a piece of arceus" which proves that he is the only arceus and just sends pieces of himself down to the pokemon world
My headcanon is that celebis reproduce by exploiting a time-based dupe glitch in the universe, creating a paradox that is only solvable by having two instances of celebi instead of one. Basically a more complicated mitosis.
In Legends Arceus, it says something about giving you (the trainer) a fraction of itself. Then, it joins your team. I believe Arceus to be so much more than what we've seen
5:51 phione was confirmed mythical thanks to home. In home legendary pokemon can be put on GTS but mythicals cant. And phione can't. Therefore its classified officially as a mythical
13:50 Mew is the only pokemon in the game besides ditto that naturally learns transform, meaning though we've never seen a mew do this in the anime or tv series (to my limited knowledge) it can also transform into any other pokemon it wishes, and being mew, may very be able to just stay that way if it wanted.
I always went with the theory that "mythical" just meant they weren't seen often, not that there's only one of them. I consider legendaries the same, that some of them aren't UNIQUE, just rare and extremely powerful (like how there are multiple Lugia in the anime). But I have my own headcanon lore for each mythical/legendary and I bet Game Freak never confirms or denies anything because they want the players to just think of stuff themselves. Pokemon lore being so open-ended is what makes it fun imo.
I actually assumed that in canon all legendaries etc are unique. But after looking bit more into it it actually makes a lot of sense how there are many Enteis and Articunos around for example. Kyogre,Groudon and Rayquaza on the other hand seem to be singular, primal entities.
To be fair I think there may be multiple of least kyogre and groudon in the past as I think they are the last of ancient primordial creatures from when the planet was first formed I think that they were originally always primal but when the planet began to stabilize they started dying of or were killed to stabilize the planet with the only ones left being the one of each that adapted to a non primal state
This is why I love Pokemon Rom hacks and Fan Games. Quite a few of them will have the majority of Mythical/Legendary Pokemon that you can obtain; either during the main storyline, doing post-game missions or solving specific puzzles in order to find them and catch 'em all. None of this Special Event/Gift malarky!

a video on how rare these Pokemon are in how easy or difficult they can be obtained would have been much more interesting. basically, an estimation on how many legit copies of them there are. for example, this could factor in how often a mythical has been distributed, in how many games it can or could be obtained, how many hours of play time is necessary to obtain it, whether or not it has been made into a Pokemon that is permanently obtainable in a game (e.g. Celebi, Deoxys, Caldeo), and so on
I heard when Nintendo Game Freak was first creating Shaymin it was originally not going to have two forms, originally it was supposed to evolve (into its alternate form) and it was even planned to evolve twice, it was originally was being created as a starter Pokemon. Given what we know now with Legends Arceus, since the Arceus we know turned out to be a small fraction of Arceus’ existence, there’s always the possibility that Arceus could create multiples of these fractions
yeah but 1/2 plus 1/2 still equals 1
Mew is not one of a kind. It did appear in the first movie, lucario movie, jorneys and the special episde the mastermind of Mirage Pokémon.
the mew in the mewtwo and lucario movies were two different mew. the mew living in the tree of life is linked symbiotically to the tree. it dies if the tree dies and vice versa. also it stays around that area confirmed by its presence in the ancient past of that area. it can't possibly be the same mew who fought mewtwo, also it would've remembered ash since canonically that only happened "less than a year ago"

As far as I can tell legendaries and mythical aren´t the same thing:
Legendaries: They´re literal forces of nature that helped to shape the world and/or heroes for humanity/pokemon/an entire region.
Basically a even more rare legendary
Mythicals are like what cryptids are to us, while legendaries are more like Deities
@@amogus5557
No.
@@alphagamer9505
No.

Why would an avatar have to hatch from an egg though?
Headcanon, the Beta Arceus is what the True Arceus looks like, and the Arceus we see / get are just it's manifested avatars.
Yeah, kinda like Darkseid from DC, true Darkseid exists outside the Multiversal plane and just creates Avatars to influence the Universes.

I actually know quite alot about Meloetta! For example she Likes to Sing, Dance, Pretend and the Kazoo

My theory about Mew is that it was the first Pokémon Arceus created and it used Mew’s DNA as like a reference guide or something
I feel like there could be multiple Meloetta, maybe in the fairly common or few of a kind tiers. My theory is the fact that many different songs in the Pokémon world have been inspired by Meloetta. But, unlike Keldeo, it's not known as a world traveler. In a similar point to Shaymin, it's a little suspicious how there are just random NPCs in the core series of games that just know how to teach Meloetta Relic Song. So it's possible the Meloetta population, although not huge, does include more than one kind.
Man the fact that the arceaus entry got Retconned to super common and actually isn't god himself but one of a million hands of God is funny
I have always viewed the act of mythicals being handed to you the equivalent of it walking up to you and asking to work together since it recognizes you as a chosen trainer.
I’ve seen enough anime to know where that goes

My personal hypothesis is that Arceus can have multiple incarnations, or avatars, though there is only One, cosmologically speaking. As with many gods in many cultures on Earth, he can incarnate into physical forms whenever he wishes so. Throughout ages he might have existed 'multiple times'.
I believe something similar can be said for other legendary and mythical pokémon. (Though not all of them)
Oh my God, you were spot on.
I wish that Pokemon looked more into Zeraora. I love this pokemon.
Everyone knows tobias's darkrai doesn't count. He clearly GameSharked it
legends arceus even proves that arceus is one of a kind as when you capture him it says "received a piece of arceus" which proves that he is the only arceus and just sends pieces of himself down to the pokemon world
10:17 If you successfully complete the walk-through-walls glitch in gen 4 with your bike, you can actually find Darkrai without the event.

I always went with the theory that "mythical" just meant they weren't seen often, not that there's only one of them. I consider legendaries the same, that some of them aren't UNIQUE, just rare and extremely powerful (like how there are multiple Lugia in the anime). Your comment contradicts itself. $50 makes him rare. Only way you can get him.
9:00 I remember playing Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs when I was little. I don't remember much but I do remember it having a mystical atmosphere
I heard when Nintendo Game Freak was first creating Shaymin it was originally not going to have two forms, originally it was supposed to evolve (into its alternate form) and it was even planned to evolve twice, it was originally was being created as a starter Pokemon. But they ditched the idea and made it a mythical pokemon instead.
Shoutout to you, good video. Fun and entertaining
Maybe those Celebi's are same but from different timelines
The MEW-Thing goes bag to the biological theory of LUCA. Last Universal Common Ancestor.
It is believed that every organism on earth can be traced back to this one last being before it reproduced, it's descendants mutated.
So that's that. In Biology it is believed that LUCA was a bacteria of some sort so it wouldn't have needed any partner to reproduce. It would've just divided itself in basic bacteria fashion xD
Love the Xenoblade 2 music!!!

Celebi and mew can pretty much only be obtained from giveaways or gameshark
No mythical should be common. Some mythicals shouldn't even be considered mythicals. Same with legendaries
I hate that Mail-Man to an unhealthy Degree...
