  • TYPE O NEGATIVE FULL LIVE BIZARRE FESTIVAL TV VERSION SHOW GERMANY HD 1999
The DVD was recorded on Sunday August 22, 1999, at the 12th Bizarre Festival in Cologne, Germany. This gig was originally recorded for a German live-in-concert program, WDR Rockpalast, and broadcast on German television. The band bought the live footage because it seemed to be the best one available to date regardless of the previous TV releases. Twelve cameras were used. The DVD does not have the performances of the cover songs "Back in the USSR" and "Day Tripper Medley" that were part of the live show and TV broadcast.

Peter Steele had a great admiration for Paul McCartney and his ability to play and sing harmonously. As old as I am, I've never heard TON's version of "Back in the USSR". They do it great justice. If you're going to cover anyone, you can't go wrong with Beatle songs. I'm fortunate that both bands were in my time eras. Pete stated he was so nervous playing sober that he was afraid he'd forget the songs because he has extreme stage fright. I don't know how that could have been 'tough to see' as it should have been great for anyone who valued him to see him embracing sobriety.

    • @michaelwolf6424

@@samimissy8190 By the time of his death, Pete's health had succumbed terribly. He needed oxygen from tanks backstage for breathing. Too many drugs and alcohol caught up with his frenzied lifestyle. What was even sadder to me was his demise from the weight lifting fitness giant he once was. He needed every crutch he could get his hands on. Had he not passed, it's doubtful how much longer he could have performed. And certainly no where the brilliance we all want to remember.

I absolutely LOVE Peter Steele. Out of all the f*ck boy musicians out there, he's the only one that has always felt real to me...warts and all.
