Imagine you are a teacher, married to another teacher. The wife ends up at a hightschool party dating my classmate. We were in 9th grade! The student was actually calling her c-nt and other degrading things. I asked my teacher, “why would you put up with this? You are married to the hottest teacher at our school, why would you do this?” She replied “I don’t know, I’m sorry”.. well her husband, who was my civics teacher found out and ended up sleeping with an 11th grade girl. The wife quit before the school found out, the husband was never caught and went on to become the principal of the school

The boy definitely ended up in psychiatric care because his parents stepped in. I’ve seen this so many times, abusers are able to do this because they establish the relationship as something being romantic. He probably thinks he loves her, because thats how these predators operate.
We had a similar situation happen where I live except the 14yo boy got the teacher pregnant and she went to jail and when she came out he moved in with her. It’s not right at all …she was an adult grooming and manipulating him.

I went to school in the late 1960s through 1980 HS graduation, and I had plenty of young teachers and all ages up to older ones.

As someone who works in schools- the amount of background checks and hours of safeguarding courses you have to do- how do people do this!?
You will never actually know what goes on in people's heads .
Background checks only stop people with criminal history from working there. It doesn't stop the ones without it.
The background check really depend on The district. Texas seems to have a massive problem with their educator hiring process.
A lot of issues are coming from here in texas revolving around this, violent educators and bus monitors, drinking at work, etc.
And 90% of the time, it's a female doing this.

It's just ignored/tolerated less often.
People keep asking how this keeps happening but there are tons of men in the comments saying how lucky this child was, even congratulating him on being taken advantage of by a teacher. That attidude is a major part of why these people don't get punished properly and why it keeps happening. Men like that keep teaching boys that this is a good thing.

I’m 45 now, but in my highschool, there were 4 teachers sleeping with students, 1 teacher was at our party, and the student she was dating was calling her c-nt and being abusive to her. She was actually married to my civics teacher, so imagine my surprise when I saw her at the party with my fellow student. Her husband found out, and ended up sleeping with a girl in 11th grade. She quit her job before she was caught, he stayed and was never caught and ended up becoming the principal of the school. I think he still is to this day. My drama teacher was arrested and sent to prison and the fourth was never caught. I think this is a lot more common than people realize
