Ida Ann Lorenzo was in a crowded Utah restaurant earlier this month when police say she thought a person’s skirt was too short, so she pulled down on it. Lorenzo believed the girl was nude under the skirt and was exposing herself. The victim says that’s not true. Video of the confrontation between the 19-year-old and Lorenzo has since gone viral. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber discusses the situation and the consequences with trial attorney Brian Claypool.

    • @Justme_1221

Her assumption does not matter. She’s not the authority on the matter. She had no right to touch anyone regardless of what they were or weren’t doing wrong (unless of coarse it’s a dangerous situation and she’s trying to help someone) she was just angry and thought she was more important and entitled than she actually is. Bottom line=keep your hands to yourself.

He may have just not seen a woman in a shorter skirt before given this was utah. Kids are told about modesty and about the garments they're supposed to wear later in life in mormonism. He probably grew up surrounded by people who dress a certain way and never wear tank tops or shorts past a certain length.
Maybe he was wondering why she wasn't wearing the garments or why she was wearing something hed been told was immodest. It's not the end of the world for a kid to see people that don't dress the same way their culture does (minus actually showing genitals; which I 100% don't believe the lady's claim that this girls genitals were showing 🙄). Just talk to the boy about how other people don't share your views and if it's distressing, to look somewhere else and not stare
I'm sure she would feel differently If someone with stricter modesty standards came up to her and covered her legs with a jacket bc she's wearing pants instead of a skirt. Or if someone pulled her top up because revealing your neck isn't modest ect. Modesty is a personal choice and everyone has different views on it for *THEMSELVES*

perhaps the miniskirt was positioned inappropriately, but a strange woman coming up and touching a younger woman's skirt to 'pull it down' is even more inappropriate. Especially as this is a rather young woman being handled by a much older woman. It gives all kinds of creep vibes, whether the moral code enforcer meant it that way or not.
