Very nice disassembly. Some top points: 1) unique boombox with dual cassette technology; 2) strong 15v DC drive motor; 3) Sharp used its own high powered 10PBC74A 15w speaker drivers (which I was surprised to see in a portable unit); single belt driven cassette assembly in a dual cassette mechanism (top notch engineering). Well worth a restoration. Super job on the re-foaming for the speakers (just the way I do it; it was cool). Sharp made some very high quality and competitive portable electronics that don't get the recognition as Sony or Panasonic often do. Thanks for showing this. Super video, my friend.
though i'm not a fan of washing electronics with tap water, i'm still one of your subscriber that admired your level of patience in restoring a piece of audio history.. good job..
TENGO UNA EXACTAMENTE IGUAL SOLAMENTE QUE EN COLOR ROJO Y LA VERDAD MIS MAS SINCEROS RESPETO POR HACER ESTA LABOR QUE ME FASCINO HABER VISTO LLEGAR HASTA EL FONDO DEL MECANISMO DE ESTA HERMOSISIMA GRABADORA SHARP HE TENIDO COMO 4 MODELOS DIFERENTES DE ESTE MECANISMO DE SHARP Y LA VERDAD ES TODA UNA MARAVILLA, GRACIAS POR HACER ESTE VIDEO Y GRACIAS POR ENSEÑAR A VER A APRENDER Y A VALORAR LAS VIEJAS TECNOLOGIAS QUE LOS JOVENES DE HOY EN DIA DESCONOCEN Y NO SABEN NADA DE LO BUENO, SALUDOS DESDE ACAPULCO 2020
No wonder these old sets last so long. Look as the design, 90% construction using solid state diodes, capacitors, transistors, resistors etc. etc. They hardly broke down unless violently abused. Keep the good work my friend!
Excellent. You gave every moving part a tiny dab of Grease. This is just the difference between "Will work for the next 10 hours" versus "Will work for 10 the next years".
Man you are the master of boomboxes!!When i first saw as a kid my unkle's Sharp to have that special double cassette mechanism i was fascinated!! Couldn't believe it! 😆
Wow, I commend you for being able to pull it all apart and put it back together. I didn’t even know it was alright to wet and wash components like that.
What a Beautiful & thorough job you did.I want to personally thank you & tell you how happy I am to see this Video..I just found my old identical Red/Black SHARP WQ T282 that I got as a gift back in 1985,as we were cleaning out our family home today..I'd show you all pictures of it,if I could.I recall they sold these in the color choice of Green,Black,Blue,Gray, and Red. My old stereo was sitting in the back of my old closet in my childhood home.I want to restore it and use it again,as it has a such sentimental value to me.I was doing research & when I googled the part # and this video popped up!. :) Mine is all RED & black & all complete including the power cord and battery cover, but very used and dirty,in identical shape to yours, bent antenna top and all....LOL.I'm looking for help in buying the drive belts and the speaker cones for it also.Did you wash it with straight water,or was that Alcohol?..I want to thank you again for taking the time to show us all this.Anyone who can help me,email me at BUBBLEMUG@GMAIL.COM...Thank you so much. :)
Fantastic job, my friend! But I think I would have replaced the belts in the cassette mechanism! No telling how old those belts are, and they parish quickly!
What is the material you using in 9:16 ,10:22. I need to re-lube the mechanism of my own tape boombox but unsure if I need to use oil or some other kind of lube material.
2:54 - the access holes for the tuning slugs are all labelled - to make it easier to do an RF alignment. Not sure how many boomboxes would ever get that sort of service, though.
I have one in red color is my favorite tween tape record. I need to lern too much to clean my machin. Thanks to video and Sharp Was porweofull in tape recorder Cassette.
There is a simple reason why TAPE 2 in this model would have no sound (TAPE 1 plays fine and radio working) - check the mode select switch on top - it may be set to either "TAPE 1" or "CONT PLAY 1-2" which means deck 1 has priority over deck 2. Set it to "TAPE 2" and see if you get sound from the second deck.

How dare you bring life back to a disposable product lol. Good work as usual.
TE : great Work, great and beautiful restauration .- You resurrect and give a new life to us ! We thank You ! Bye Bye.-
Excellent. You gave every moving part a tiny dab of Grease. This is just the difference between "Will work for the next 10 hours" versus "Will work for 10 the next years".
Awesome stereo! It's good to see something so cool and retro being restored back to its former glory. Great job! 👍
Very serviceable unit, that is very different today with glue and clips. Love it. Great job.

Good job bro!
Good job on restoring the boom box. One thing that I would like to say is that you should have painted the inside of the speaker grill also.
Master's work as it was an excellent restoration.
its nice to see a genuine Japanese quality made one !!! seen a lot that are made in Taiwan that are poor quality

@@TE. Nặng thường do nam châm của loa.
Excellent work
even tho i might not do these i still get impressed while watching them lol
Wow! A sharp boombox restoration! Subscribed!

Great sound
Niceee, think maybe The pinch rollers needs to be replaced or dipped into a solution that can recover the grip to improve further the flutter? 👍
I have one in red color is my favorite tween tape record. I need to lern too much to clean my machin. Thanks to video and Sharp Was porweofull in tape recorder Cassette.

Aww, sound of that tiny drill is so cute! *"EEE! EEE!"*
Awesome video. I need help. Just bought the same model everything works but the second tape player is no sound. Spins but no sound. What can it be?
There is a simple reason why TAPE 2 in this model would have no sound (TAPE 1 plays fine and radio working) - check the mode select switch on top - it may be set to either "TAPE 1" or "CONT PLAY 1-2" which means deck 1 has priority over deck 2.
