    I don't think that this radio is so cheap when it was brand new. At that time we overpaid for these technology while most of their function were now replaced by tiny semi-conductors modules instead of solid state ones. Restoring these 'relics' is always welcomed so we will always remember how they evolved to what we have today.

      Maybe, but the cassette door is labelled "Happy Music". Not really an indicator of a quality electronic device.

    You found a stereo radio cassette recorder so much similar at one which I had; mine was a similar model of mark "ESPACE", and on the high left part there was two cursors for regulating VOLUME and TONE respectively, and on the right loudspeaker there was MIC, for own voice recordings.
    My sincerely congratulations and compliments for restoring. Very more bravo.

    I can't believe I had this model 30 years ago, it was in black, I never imagined going to see it, I changed the speakers for a 3 "sony and I had it until I replaced it with a Fisher of CDs, thanks for those beautiful memories!

    -----------
    You have golden hands)) Good job!
    I don’t know the budget of this work, but if it’s possible, it’s better to replace both speakers, the second one, although it looks more preserved, has also worked out its resource. And the buttons of the cassette mechanism would also be nice to paint in gold, as well as the edges of the carrying handle.

    Looks good, but next time I would recommend just polishing the plastic. In the long run, it'll look much nicer than just painting it. Paint tends to tarnish with wear over time. Also, if you need to replace one speaker, go all in and replace the other. The sound will be very mismatched between the two. Lastly, and IMO the biggest one of all, you probably should not pressure wash a PCB. Although it may efficiently clean it, and it will still work so long as it fully dries off, it could knock some more sensitive components off the board if you're careless. In the future, spray your PCBs down with contact cleaner and/or 90% or above rubbing alcohol and scrub off the gunk with a toothbrush and a rag (being careful not to disturb the aforementioned tiny components). In all, not a bad restoration project, but those are some things you should look out for in the future.

    • @Wilson84KS
      @Wilson84KS 4 года назад +1

      Color and speakers are not important, someone will place it somewhere, set one radio station and don't touch it for a long time, the speakers are so low-tech you won't hear any difference. On the other points you are right, hope he just didn't show when he cleaned of the water with alcohol or something, he also used contact spray, but I think he got enough expirience to know what is worth the time and what not, he put as much work in it as needed and as less as possible.
