The Getters predate Voltron and their combination made it very versatile due tu it's multiple ways it combines! Also where's Jeeg? Another very versatile mech!

Why is it considered so powerful, since from what i understand the whole setting takes from lovecraft works in which humanity is powerless to those otherworldly tentacle gods. Yeah, gurren langgan never realy tried to break reality but if we go by that train of thought then i'd say the Getter Emperor is stronger, he is the enemy of what considered as gods in the Getter Robo multiverse and when he is complete he is going to destroy it, plus who else can weild "evolution as if it were a weapon".

I hope you're not talking about the original Gundam which is known for having 2 vents on its chest and a v crest on the head. Voltron's design has stood the test of time. The symbol on the chest, wings, horns on the head, big sword and shield were what made Voltron's design better. In fact, all these design parts are still used in all version of Voltron.

as a mech fan i'm really insulted in this list, even when they mention "Varitech from Robotech" instead of VF-1A/S from the "ORIGINAL" SDF Marcross serie (also epic fail at show it after Macross Frontier)
No Getter Robo or Mazinger in 1st palce since they are the epitome of classic super mech (even mistake his name with the 3rd instalment of Mazin trio, Grendizer) .... no Shin Getter Robo or Mazinkaiser (both original and SKL) who can literally tear appart any of them. no Gaigaigar , no Dancuga , no Combattler V , Voltes V or Daimos, no MF G Gundam , no Raxephon.... lots of mechs who aren't in this list.
and the great insult was call the VF-1A the grand daddy of all mechs when , RX-78-2 was created before him , before RX , Mazinger and Getter , AND MUCH MORE before the real grand daddy of all mechs , Tetsujin #28 (aka: Ironman 28 for this side of the hemisphere)

For as much as I love Gundam and Code Geass, , the top slot really should go to either the Messiah from Macross or the Eva units from Evangelion. Both are super versatile, extremely powerful, and look absolutely gorgeous.

The list pretty much makes sense, aside from Voltron being at number 1. I mean, Evangelion and Gundam should both be moved up one spot and Voltron should be number 3. That makes a lot more sense to me.

The Veritech is known as the VF-1 Valkyrie in SDF Macross. So it is literally the predecessor to the VF-25 Messiah.

Voltron came from the anime go beast king lion.... It's an anime plus the 5 lion bit becoming voltron was purely on accident it would of been daltanious but they choose the wrong tape of the anime to edit but they ended up liking go beat king lion so they choose that and voltron existed

Yeah no.... Gundam should have been on the first place. Voltron is not worthy enough for take the first place over Gundam. I call a rematch! Gundam is WAY more iconic to any top 10 Mechs in Anime than voltron would ever be! If it cant do good in japan and the world. then it does not deserve the first place

RahXephon, which, sorta like Evangelion I suppose, remade the world. There was also a badass scene where a badguy charges one only to evaporate upon contact with it.
I could've taken this as "just our opinion", but the most basic of mistakes were made. Bad dates on Gundam clips, showing Mazinger Z and labeling it as Grendizer, citing that Veritechs are better than a specific Valkyrie (when they are the very same thing rebranded for different adaptations.), no mention of Golion during Voltron. I can't imagine how many other videos have bad information when the most base of Mecha knowledge is gotten wrong. Horrible man, just horrible. Retry. Do it again.

Whoever made this clearly didn't watch Gurren Lagann to the end - nothing matches the dimension tearing, hole through space hopping, galaxy sized Dai Gurren Lagann at the end. No competition.

-Let's put 2 Macross mechas on this list, because they're basically the same but we like them.
-Let's summarize Gundam's, which each of them is really different from the others, in just the original one.
-Let's put EVA's in number 3, despite having the power of demi-gods that can cause an event on the Earth that basically kills everyone.

+Adam Knight Basically, Robotech is not an original series. The company that brought it to USA grabbed 3 different animes (one of them being Macross, the one with the planes that transform into robots) and mixed them into one and called it Robotech. It's like I grabbed footage from Adventure Time, Steven Universe and Gravity Falls, mixed all of that into one thing, called it something like "Crazy Adventures" and showed it to you as if it was original.

Dragonk116 don't disrespect Shoji Kowamori he made three iconic Gundams the Gp02 series. And actually in Japan Macross and Gundam fans have better respect for each other than star wars and star trek fans. And Robotech is basically an abridged series of SDF Macross.
This is what i say macross was the first of the first to basically make anything mecha transform and gundam is what made mecha popular. Macross and gundam where made 3 years apart and where macross was made in 1982 and gundam was made in 1979 and transformers was made 1984
The one you named Grenadier was Mazinger Z. Great video by the way. And I agree with your list. Voltron and Gundam are in my top as well.
I'm sorry, but a few points:
1) Gurren Lagann doesn't run on "friendship", it runs on the power of evolution and... confidence? Something like that.
2) Okay, it's widely accepted as, but it's really debatable whether EVAs are even mecha, considering how they are made.
3) #2 is a total cop out. If you have to include them, at least pick ONE :P
4) Your viewers are idiots putting it #1 above #2 :P Sorry, guys.

Critical research failures abound in this video, and it's clear they only did the "we rate the individual mecha, not the show" as a flimsy excuse to put the same mecha line in twice (Macross & Robotoech)
Seems the list followed US adaptation. Ending in the first release of Voltron lion force is different from the original Go-lion (more brood and violent overall). IMO gundams/mobile suits deserve the top spot better than voltron.
Robotech is not an anime. The word you are looking for is "Macross." Robotech is just a shit quality American mutant created using stock footage from an actual anime.
+Aezelll Well it is anime. A combination of 3 anime. Not stock footage. It's like your comparing it with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger. That is an actual show that uses stock footage. Then you got the shows The Super Dimension Fortress Macross and Robotech: The Macross Saga, which if you actually saw Robotech and Macross, the series follows it with edits and dubbing in English of course. Then you got Super Dimension Calvary Southern Cross and Robotech: The Masters Saga. And Genesis Climber MOSPEADA (this is not connected with Macross at all, just similar mechs) and Robotech: The New Generation. The Robotech series used all the episodes (with edits) and didn't flip scenes around from the other series. Find things out first then post a comment. They did it again with Voltron: Defender of the Universe or should I say an edited Beast King GoLion(or part of it since America produced or paid for 20 extra episodes), and Vehicle Force Voltron or an edited Armored Fleet Dairugger XV. They were completely different anime put as two shows connected to each other. Then we (World Event Productions) asked Toei Animation to produce footage (with some stock footage) so that the two shows could connect to each other for the movie Voltron: Fleet of Doom. Wow! I hoped you learned something.

I'm pretty sure they are the same, except Robotech adding a few other anime as well, it was a mix of Macross and a few other anime as well.
Toa Levi Robotech follows some of Macross plot but the two shows are much different.

Um...You're not naming mechs, you're grouping them together and naming whole shows..."Mechanized weapons of terror"? Have you not heard of the New Gundams? The only thing in this list is a bunch of old construction mechs and mechs with basic weaponry and abilities we see in every robot show.
Where was the Gurren Lagaan mech that could Literally throw galaxies around like frisbees, or the Double O Raizer/Quanta Gundam which can literally quantize itself/teleport/disperse itself into solar particles, and reappear elsewhere and can move at break necking speeds, on top of having a laser beam that acts as a beam saber that can cut through entire fleets in one swing?
If you we are going off of specific suits, then those 2 would Definitely be at the top.

Voltron is garbage. You need to do more research. Group of 5 mech doesn't start with Voltron. Cobattler V is almost 10 years earlier. There's also Voltes V. PS, Mazinkaiser is much stronger than Voltron. Gurren Lagann is much larger than the entire galaxy. You expect Voltron that puny machine can do crap? And you put Grendizer, but with Mazinger picture...
Other strong mechs like Gaiking (old and new), Dancouga (old and new), Getter Robo (original, G, Shin, Neo, New), Linebarrels of Iron, Mazinkaiser SKL, Steel Jeeg, Raideen...
The list wasn't about power, but general coolness, tho the list is terrible regardless.
If we're talking coolness GaoGaiGar takes the cake and turns in to light with heaven and hell

I always loved the realism of Evangelion. All other mecha series just throw you a robot that moves with "magic" or "friendship" (to quote WatchMojo).
NGE showed you the umbilical cords, the lauch pads, the armors, the training facilities, the software used in NERV. Even when Shinji is using his positron rifle, they show you how they will power it.
And that opening theme used to give me chills.

As cool as Voltron may have been for its time, I think the Nearvosh from Eureka Seven deserves a spot on this list: using a giant surf board to fly, transforming into a car for quick ground transport, later transforming into it's own jet for a quick air-borne get-away, requiring the power of bonds formed from friendship and love to unleash its ultimate, and consequently deadly attack.
Eureka Seven is all around a good series, possibly even a great one, with a good message at its heart, and not merely something used to sell toys the way other robot shows have done. And, NO, I'm not specifically saying that any particular show mentioned on this list has been made to serve that purpose.
I also am a fan of Zoids, and of Zoids: Chaotic Century.

I don't think any of you know how big Super Tengan Toppa Gurren Laggan is. He himself is as big as the universe, but his final attack is literally more than 100x bigger than the universe. and with spiral power it could grow infinitely.

this isn't based solely on power guys. design and notoriety is a huge factor and they literally built a statue of the RX78-2 Gundam in Japan so yeah. if this was the list of strongest Mecha then im sure Gurren Lagann would take the cake but when it comes to overall you gotta give respect to the guys who are still going (MSG) and a name any fan of mecha anime can recognize, Voltron.

I would have put Gundam and Gurren Lagann over Voltron, but I can live with this since Voltron was my first mech anime.
Had hoped even though not truly a mecha anime in many eyes, as it is more akin to power-armor, but would have loved to see Tekkaman both the older series an the takkaman blade series too.
