- Here is a look at the video that confirmed a Tornado in Carroll County Friday! This is captured at the Leesville Lake South Fork Marina and shared by Keith Ott. This would be classified as a tornadic waterspout as the tornado moves over water, according to NEWS9 Meteorologist Nathan Shutt.

Whoa! Puts new meaning to the phrase “came out of nowhere.” Literally!
Except that it LITERALLY dropped straight down from a clearly visible cloud. The term "came out of nowhere" applies more when magic invisible men supposedly conjure things out of nothing.
@@rocketsfan6116 I wouldn't be surprised if *rain* LITERALLY dropped straight down from a clearly visible cloud. But for a cloud to suck water up - well, I did not see that coming, so it "came out of nowhere".
@@rocketsfan6116 good luck getting a thumbs up from that comment.
@@rocketsfan6116 Actually, I couldn't see a funnel cloud. This looked like the kind of tornado that forms from the ground up.
@@rocketsfan6116☝️🤓
Powerful little drill bit tornado you captured there.
Well that sucks
Waterspout.
That's crazy!!! Without the camera footage you'd wonder how the hell a tornado shredded a boat dock while leaving the trees 100 feet away untouched. Even WITH the footage, it's hard to believe!
I swear I was thinking the same exact scenario 😂
Often when it is a small tornado it isn't the winds that do the damage. Its' the extreme low pressure at the center of the cyclone. The boats get sucked up.....not thrown.
It didn't do that much damage to the dock really. It tore up the soft coverings on the boats but that's it.
@@hamie7624 Bro what? I literally threw a whole ass pontoon around.
@@v1tam1ns ....which is made of canvas.
+100 for the security camera that doesn't have potato resolution!
AMAZING footage.......WOW
Right ?!? i am so sick of the Potato cam for significant events ... if we ever get visited by off planet guests , it will probably be filmed on a 1984 Sony handy cam in 120P .. The Zapruder film will be clearer than it ..
@@mattcan69 🤣👍
@@mattcan69I still don't get what a potato has got to do with a camera? It's a strange analogy. 🤨
You know,
Biggest country bank - customer space security cam: 144p
Biggest country bank - office security cam: 2160p (4K)
Rural area shed - backyard cam: 1080p (HD)
😅😂
@@martytdd1606 Just an old meme that's been common on YT and Reddit for poor quality. Supposedly originated from some British comedy where there was a spy camera in a potato then the internet had its way with it.
It said fuck this boat dock in particular
This one….? Oh THIS one! Ok yeah…BOOOOOOOM!
😂
It did say that.
When your tornado wakes up on the wrong side of the bed.
I saw two pontoon boats literally tossed up in the air and torn apart within 4 seconds
The first time I've seen a tornado/waterspout appear to throw a tantrum.
My dad's boat got destroyed when this happened. I'm not sure if his is one on those in the video, though.
Edit: His boat is the one all the way to the left of the screen with the green tarp. The tornado goes right over it and it tore the tarp off and is left drifting away after the tornado goes off screen. It didn't sink, but it did get damaged. Still waiting on the insurance company to decide whether to fix or total it.
The boat did a roll. Impressive how a small tornado can flip things.
Either the tornado was invisible until it reached the light pole or it started to form right there.
It obviously started right there
the second we see the dust and water being kicked up in the video is the second the tornado is on the ground. but either way all tornadoes are technically “invisible”, because they’re just wind, but we can see them because of water droplets, debris, and dust getting sucked into the vortex.
@@peyleontologistyou can't really see rain wrapped tornadoes
Well, it is a ‘Turnaround’.
Tornadoes are invisible until they either suck up debris, dirt, water etc or condensation. They are just very tightly and rapidly spinning wind wind itself has no color and is invisible
We’ve got to stop these godless tornados! Les Nesman WKRP
Holy cow!!! At 0:25 that tornado just popped out of thin air!!!!!
There appears to be a 2nd vortex in the middle of the lake at 0:35. Interesting.
Good catch! A sub-vortex!
@@algomaone121 2 of them even! One chasing the other!
Good eye. Tornadoes are always trying to sneak in extra vortices when they think nobody is looking.
@@josephastier7421 Your comment gave me a good chuckle. :)
that's kinda how tornadoes work, it's sorta like a line of small vortexes that slowly come in at a curve and eventually twist into the actual tornado, usually they're almost completely invisible but sometimes you might catch a glimpse of them
Weekend staff to Marina owner: "Soooo a tornado came out of nowhere, stole all the kayaks and destroyed one of the docks and all its boats, and nothing else got damaged."
The fact it popped out of nowhere is crazy
Literally started on the canoe rack!
How cruel. One boat gets a good cleaning and the next destroyed. That's a sharp cut-off. Neutron bomb tornado.
"You've never seen it miss this boat, and miss that boat… And then come after you!"
Wow great video thank you for posting
The developers need to fix these random spawn points already
Camera telling me "Turnaround", hell nah there's a tornado right in front of me
It's a little scary, I would normally assume you can tell it might be tornado weather when there is a very violent and windy thunderstorm but in this scenery everything looked peaceful and just a bit breezy when it formed out of nowhere.
That's surprisingly common. I've seen a few videos (mostly doorbell cams) where the sun is actually shining, you can kind of see a light mist but no big storm, then bam. Tornado goes right through. Hot days are like a quality steak to a storm system, too. It destabilizes the atmosphere and supplies energy for a tornado. So even though there's a dark, scary looking parent storm, the day often starts out beautiful! That freaks me out a bit lol
@Isreal_666 sad but true. It's also moving east (some sat 4-500 miles in the last 40 years)every year so places that aren't used to frequent tornado activity will be more impacted. Whether that's due to climate change or just a natural progression, I don't know, I haven't done enough looking into it to say, but either way, things are changing.
What an a hole! Stupid weather!
A “Tornado” over water it called a water spout and is only dangerous if you are in a boat
It tossed those pontoons like little toys.
Amazing videos, nature is wild :) stay home, stay safe :D
Its called a waterspout over water.
It was on land too so its both.
Just goes to show what a little F1 tornado can do! There was debris falling all over that cove into the lake!
more like gaynado am i right cus that was wimpy
There’s still time to delete this comment..
“I’m a little EF0 Tornado, short and stout. Here is my handle, here is my spout. When the water’s boiling, hear me shout, “Tip me over, pour me out!”😮
My grandparents live in Leesville! Very glad they weren’t hit by this because…wow!
Amazing! Never saw such a thing. It did just come out of nowhere. I watched it twice and still couldn't believe it happened.
When I was a boy we had a small one touch down on our property, it can at me and I jumped out of the way in our back yard, I looked in amazement because it braided the grass as I watch it move away
Wow incredible. I thought I instantly recognized that lake thinking “wow that looks like Camp Muskingum where we had band camp in high school…” THEN I READ THE DESCRIPTION and I’m mind blown
Was this the actual touchdown of the tornado? Amazing capture!
Wow that's awesome footage!👍
I guess pontoon boats are like the mobile homes of the lake. Tornado magnets 😂😂
Wats really cool if you watch the water you can see the inflow jet coming and meeting the down draft( creating the tornado. )
That’s actually a water spout not a tornado. That’s misinformation
And in eight months all of the written off boats will be sold in Canada as recently "serviced"
Look at all that disposable income flying around 🤣
Powers of the woman’s prayer for there husband to not go 🎣 😂😂😂 hope nobody was hurt
"Hey Herb, where'd you leave the boat?"
"It was right here yesterday morning I swear" !!
That definitely came from an unexpected direction.
Omg I hope all those homes were located and ok for the fisherman.
Getting really sick of these damn things.
I would not call that a tornado, more like a willie willie.
So thats who is doing all the Vandelising around here 😆😆
OMG Awesome, terrible image...
Crazy how they can just form out of nowhere like that...
Hmmm, I thought I left the canoes right here?
A nice little water spout, a solid F1 or 2.
Looks much like an "AI" Tornado.
You call that a tornado? LOL That's cute.
FYI Water spouts and tornados are not the same thing. I tornado requires a rotating "meso" above it....
FYI a tornado over water is a waterspout. Even a wedge tornado. If it is over water, it's a waterspout. This was a tornadic waterspout while it was on the lake.
The tornado just wanted to play✨🌪
1980s tax money at work ;)
Tornado because not you find come
Those pontoon boats sure do fly !
Dad comes out - Who flipped the boats
Who pissed off the tornado????
Toledo bend. Weather can be tough on that lake.
That was just a baby touch and go.
a lots of turnaround in one video.
That tornado sure had a hatred of pontoon boats.
Really shows you that even "weak" tornadoes are not to be messed with
This is wrong Speed
Too bad it was camera shy
Fuck that boat, anyway.
That's gotta be fake.
Must not be a fan of pontoons.
Even the weather hates Pontoon Boat owners.
Dumpster dive?
Thats a waterspout not a Tornado.
Someone's showing the lack of attention they paid in school.
Insurance adjuster before seeing the video: your telling me it just came down and destroyed the boat and docks but did no other damage. Yeah right pal
The path of least resistance was reached just on top of the asphalt, left of that one very large tree on the right seen having its branches sucked into the direct of the same low pressure spot where all the surrounding higher air-pressure is trying to fill in at the same time--with the path of least resistance being to simply rush in spinning and straight up into the sky to fill that huge rising vacuum caused by the uplift from the storm cloud.
that was that bad of a tornado
This 🌪 sucks. 😁
That was cooo.

Canoes: Party at the marina...Leggo!
Dock: Wooyah, lets tear this place apart!
Boats: Party all day...yeah baby!
Aren't water funnels more or less harmless?
They can also throw you into the air, these are slightly less powerful tornadoes but can still kill you.
So like that’s where that tornado started…I thought it took a few seconds to whine up..but I guess not so u could be outside standing there and swoop
😮😮😮😮☹️☹️😨😨😨😱
WOW...I have never seen one from "it's" inception..!!!
notices how fast the tornado reached the ground? Previously it just a strong winds going up and debris, then a tornado shows up
Heck that happened when my uncle was down there and his boat got almost destroyed its the red one
that legitimately almost got an accidental "wowzers" out of me
That Pontoon boat with the tan cover was not tied up properly.
Hope those guys had boat insurance 😭😭😭
Imagine you look up and see a funnel cloud coming down at you then you get rotated.
I wonder how likely it would be to be able to fly up a tornado with a wingsuit IF there's no debri that can kill you
What would we see if we turned around like the camera asked?!
I'm gonna assume it was a jump or it retracted up and Came back down at that spot on the lake
0.5 level tornado.
More like EF2
Every now and then I get a little bit nervous that the best of all the years have gone by
The Water Spout Touched down right on boats.
I think the lake level raises where the spout formed due to the extreme low pressure.
I'm glad it left those trees alone.
It came down to where not to dock your boats.
