I am not very much into photography, but man are these videos incredible. I put one of your videos up in my living room and my roommates just stopped and watched. Keep this content coming, the production is simply stunning.
Also, you convinced me to pick up an x100v last month, and I don't regret it at all. Absolutely love it, even as a beginner. Take it everywhere.
What type of content do you shoot
How much did you pay my guy ? Cause that thing is expensive af
"You can actually buy today" gtf out of here
@@larixon8863 Paid about 1600 USD. Came like new in box, less than 500 photos taken. Also came with an extra battery, 128gb sd card, leather strap, plus the original stap that came with it, and the waterproof lens cap thingy. Got pretty lucky I think, the listing had been up for no more than an hour when I snagged it.
And yea, it's pretty freaking expensive. But too many times I've wanted to get into a hobby and cheaped out on the first piece of equipment, only to want a nicer thing after deciding I liked the hobby. So I just went for this one and haven't looked back.
@@noadr5gon Yes, buying the budget entry into a hobby and then going for the more expensive option once you decide you like it is the way to go, not spend 1600USD on a camera when you're "not very much into photography" hahaha
Congrats on 100k man! Top notch content
I appreciate it, Gawx! Thanks so much :)
It’s a long overdue milestone

I guess i know now who's your inspiration for your video
Let us travel back to about two months ago when RUclips presented me with a video called 'If you REALLY want to be a photographer, THIS should be your first camera: The Fuji X100v.', from an obscure and, to me, unknown channel named GxAce. I clicked on it and was intrigued... Flash forward to today, when finally, I received delivery of my very own Fujifilm X100v. To be continued...
Same.
Congratulations on receiving your X100V! Just curious, I've been wanting one as well and am based in the US, but can't seem to find it at a reasonable price!! How did you get so lucky?!
@@rafidjokosoetono8790 I’m in Sweden. I used a site that watches for supplies in all major Swedish camera shops. Several of them suddenly got a few each of the black version but they were all gone the day after. After I put in my order it was all gone so I was probably very lucky to get the last one.
@@j.israelsson and how is it going? do you like the camera?
@@ilija.8548 Yes really I do, thank you for asking. Haven’t been able to try it out a lot yet because I thought I had some memory cards laying around but didn’t. So I it took a couple of days extra to get to a complete system. But I really like it. Already thinking of how to kit it out. Bought a JJC adapter ring and hood but was disappointed that I couldn’t use the lens hood in this configuration. So now I’m looking into buying the Fujifilm action case. Don’t know if it fits the camera with an adapter ring and a filter but I hope it does. I’m coming from Nikon, specifically the D800 which have been my trusty companion but I really think It will be retired completely with this or at least only used on very specific occasions. I really buy into the thought that limitations makes you more creative.
I come from the future... they are still out of stock.
😂😂😂😂🎉😂😂😂😂 winner!
from one photographer to another your editing and style are bladerunner / dune level high . you made it
exactly !! Dune vibes at nthe intro of the this video and the previous one. i was reading comms to see if anyone noticed it .
frfr his style is impeccable
Definitely, these are so dope the way he shoots them and the thumbnails are impeccable in how simple they are, yet intriguing so I have to click on them.
Ridley Scott or Denis Villeneuve
THATS WHAT I THOUGHT
Fujifilm X-E3 is always overlooked but can be had for a bargain too, you can stick the Fujifilm pancake lens on to basically make it in to an X100 or put the 35mm 1.4 (equivalent to a 50mm full frame) and go Henri Cartier-Bresson style. The X-E3 gives you access to all Fuji X mount lenses as well as the M adapter to mounting Leica lenses etc.
Not to mention the new TTArtisans 27mm 2.8 is only like 100 dollars with AF! A super great budget street kit.
I'm new to photography and can't decide between the X-e3 and X-E4. care to share some pointers?
@@JeDxDeVu The X-E3 has more buttons to customise while the X-E4 has better auto-focus. I didn't upgrade to the X-E4 (and I usually jump on upgrades) due to this and a few other things I don't remember now.
I think people are probably mixed in which is better, both are amazing cameras though so you can't go wrong either way in the end.
@@HenleyBailey cheers
Don't tell anybody, but X-E2 is actually the better deal because of the built-in flash 🤫
To be honest, I think X-E1 had the best design of the XE series in terms of ergonomics, but it’s just too slow to be my every day pocket camera.
The quality production of your videos is nearly unmatched in style and I’ve watched A LOT of RUclips in my day. Major respect to your art.

I've only just come across your channel recently, and I can't believe the level of production that your videos have! I love the whole style of your videos and your photography.

My first real camera was an x100 and I learned so much about photography from it. With all of its quirks, weirdness and fussiness, I loved it dearly and used it for years until its shutter stopped working. It’s undeniably a modern classic, one the greatest digital cameras of all time.

I don't know what it is but man your videos almost always bring me to tears, I absolutely love the production quality, the voiceover, the examples, the music and the esthetic. Everything works in a way that's got me emotional over a camera
That's what you get when someone is passionate enough about a subject. He doesn't transmits knowledge, he transmits an entire experience which makes you feel his emotions towards a subject and it is just beauuutiful.
This is f*cking pure art

I am born and bred on RF. I have used many SLR, both film and digital, plus just about everything else from Minox to 4x5 Speed Graphic but I keep going back to my Epson RD1 and any of a shelf full of LTM and M-mount bodies and lenses. Mostly use the RD1 as film gets SO expensive today unless I soup and scan my own B&W. I have a crapton of old film stock frozen, but the processing is problematic and expensive for color or transparency. Desktop image software and a good photo grade printer and supplies are also expensive but at least not toxic like E6 or Kodachrome and such. It is still viable (but expensive per image) to have color print film done and scan it.
He hires an new orchestra for each video, and I appreciate it :)

I will praise the yt algorithms forever for showing me your channel. I thought I would never see anything so creative, artistic and beautiful on yt. Bro you inspire me like nothing and I'm on my way to get back to filmography. I can't even express how incredible your skills are and you should be first in the queue to get an Oscar
Irish!!! Amazing. By the way I have an Olympus OMD E-10 Mark III, I brought a beautiful Voigtlander 25mm lens to go with the Micro 4:3 body. It's a budget body with a mid range (sort of expensive) lens. My results are to die for. Great little friend to go with my true love, my film cameras. Most of which are inexpensive little beasts, some old, from the 30's! 50's! some never like my Yashica T4' I picked up in a charity shop in Bristol 10 years ago....for £4! I also make cameras and use weird things as cameras. Photography is never about the New = the best. We need to start exploring more in the digital age. Stop relying on our state of the art smartphones and monster mirrorless medium format cameras that cost 10's of thousands of monies. Photograph with joy not property. Bash those bodies, don't bubble wrap them and go out and see.
I've been thinking about getting a really good camera for a while now. Your video inspired me to finally get some and I just bought a Fuji x100 of Ebay as some sort of christmas present for myself this year
Update: I got the camera like a week ago. Took so many images already. it's so gooooooddd
How much did you end up paying for it?
@@nolancn1143 600€ plus about 130€ in taxes and toll
Great video! Fuji it's diferent and this camera still rocks. Kudos for using Minidisc!
I was this close to buying an X100 variant, but still wanted some of the flexibility of interchangeable lenses, and settled on the X-E3 with the XF 27MM F2.8. It replicates the focal length of the X100 but with much more flexibility down the road if I want to. Just a suggestion for those thinking about this camera but who don't want to be stuck with one lens :)
I use my 27mm on an 'old' xt20 and must say I love this combo for many reasons!
I went X-E3 (used from B&H) as well typically paired up with the XF 23mm F2. It is such a great lil camera, although I have always wanted an X100 just haven’t been able to justify the expense. They are beautiful camera’s!!!
An Irish hologram - very impressive!
I can't agree with you more. X100v is the singular best camera I have ever owned/used. It delivers a pure and beautiful experience of photography.
First time seeing your vid and I’m not even buying cameras. You got a like, subbed and also hit that bell
Such insane growth of your channel in recent months just blows my mind... Congrats, Gx! I hope to see at least one more 0 in number of your subscribers 😛 And as always, production quality of this video is just top notch. Music, visuals, the way you speak... Can't wait to see more!
and there goes the price again...i shouldve just been quiet hahaha...but actually though.
This camera as a concept ive said for years (even before it got uber popular) is the future. theres something about that kodak click & shoot vibe that's just fun. Found ive used my xt3 to carry around less and less & event photographers always ask about the x100 series as something they wanna pull the trigger on...After a while menus & a million things on your readout get extremely boring. So yeah this camera is & already has been the future. I'd suggest seeing if you can get sponsored by fuji if you havent already...i dont think they could buy this kinda press tbh...(unless they already have)
Seriously blown away by your production quality every time I watch your videos, I feel like I'm watching snippets from my favourite films...but learning new things at the same time. Truly inspirational, I'm one of the lucky few to get my hands on an x100v and have been inspired you to fall in love with photography again! Thanks so much!!
i still use Canon 300D with 6MPx senzor... and the pictures still looks great.... Of course you cant crop and zoom as much... but the output is still awesome. if i downsize picture from R6 nobody could tell the difference.
I completely agree with everything in this video. I started off with a Sony A7iii and enjoyed it but lost my enjoyment pretty quickly. I picked up a x100F a few months ago and literallybring it with me every single day to work and almost everywhere I go. The x100 line of Fujifilm just makes photography fun again. The sensor is unmatched and the colors are GORGEOUS!!!
How did you shot these drone shots?
What drone/camera did you use?
I really love the video!
You are really inspiring 🔥
G
Thanks! I use the DJI Air 2s!
I took the X-Pro1 and XF23mm f2 to family thanksgiving this year. I was overthinking “which camera, which lenses should I take?” So I decided to mimic the X100 and just go simple. It was a good setup. It was supposed to quiet the voice inside me that still wants the original X100 but… I am still drawn to it. It’s just such a good looking camera. But then, so is the X-Pro1.
I feel like each video reaches almost everyone subscribed and for good reason 🌠
I can't seem to get enough of Villeneuve movies. Since, there aren't quite a lot of them, and there's only a certain number of times you can re-watch a movie, this channel is like a perfect fix for my craving.
Never stop being creative man.
i recommend some filmography shot by Deakins and Lubezki
Dude I have used x100v, f hs2,a73 and 4, 1dx, they all produce the same images. To say the x100v is producing incredible images is garbage. It’s just a another sensor and lens like the rest of them. I could take a photo with a 5dmk2 and tell you it’s from a Leica or x100v and you would not even know. I have done it before on forums.
Brilliant as always mate. It was your channel and review of the Sony A7s that convinced me it was a viable stills camera. You really don’t need masses of megapixels. Move on to a few months ago and I’m now shooting the Leica M9 as well as my Fuji X-Pro1. Paired with an iPad for editing workflow and it’s perfect. Image quality in spades, full of character and life, plenty of resolution if needed.
damn are you shitting money lmao
@@r00kiet80 hahah! Not really, I sold a lot of gear ;)
The low light always frustrated me with my x100. Oh and focus was always iffy. Still on my desk, but next to my xpro3 and 50r
I got myself the x100t a few months ago and I'm so happy with it. I carry it around wherever I go and have it by my side every single day. Especially for street photography or documenting your everyday life it's an absolute blessing. The only reason why I'm still looking for the x100v is the weather sealing and more film simulation options.
Look no further. The jpegs of the X100T are magical, the XTrans ii sensor is special, even the X100V can't produce images like that.
@@duschbrauser could you explain what makes you think that? I'm really curious since I haven't had the chance to test the x trans III sensor yet
@@banjo5835 I have the X100T and the X-T3, which has the same sensor as the X100V. Don't get me wrong, it's a great camera, but the images straight out of cam look better on the X100T. It renders images more film like. The only thing I miss is Acros, but if you are not into black and white you are not missing anything. Except if you really nee super fast AF and Werther sealing.
@@duschbrauser Interesting point I really would love to compare the straight out of cam images now. Unfortunately I'm very much into black and white so i kinda miss acros but I have a pretty good b&w recipe so I'm not that bummed-

Your videos are a work of art and will continue to mesmerize the audience long after the content of the video is obsolete.
Intense Melodysheep vibes in the early part of the video, great work as always, keep rising 🙌🏻
I bought an XPRO1 specifically for this reason. The sensor is renowned as “film like” in the Fuji community. Being able to slap on old lenses, use “Film Recipes” and fiddle with dials to get the full film like experience is what I wanted. If you need to borrow an XPRO1 for a video I’m here to help!
Normally, I don't agree with every point in a video - I do with this one. Before the V was ever announced, I was able to get a new F in limited edition brown. I'd sell my Nikon D700 before I would ever give up my x100F. The x100 series make you work an image like most people have never conceived; it brings the visceral experience of making images back to life. My opinion. YMMV. 😀
I didn't even know about this camera let alone know that I wanted one. This video is insanely good work!
How did I just find this channel just now. Just in awe of your storytelling and cinematography!
Totally disagree, I have owned this camera, and the quality simply doesn't hold up anymore. If you have shot with more recent cameras you will be let down after spending 500 dollars on this.

Loving the regular uploads, thank you!
When I bought my Fuji X-T1 back in 2014, I could only afford one lens. So I bought a 35mm f/1.4 (55mm equiv.) and called it a day. Over the next few years, I shot everything with that one lens, and it helped create my “style” and trained my eye to be a better photographer. Almost all of my favourite photos were taken on that setup.
When the X-T4 came out, I upgraded and introduced a few more lenses to my stable; both “Red Badge” zooms and another prime…and I can’t express just how much I find myself getting lost in the gear side of things now. Fussing about lenses and focal lengths and bleghhh….currently looking to exit the spec-sheet arms race and get back to simplicity.

A few months ago, i wanted to downsize (literally) from my big canon 6D with my plethora of lenses. I was torn between the x100v and the ricoh GR IIIx. In the end i got the Ricoh and couldnt be happier but sometimes i still glance towards the fuji. Specially because of the viewfinder. In any case i could not agree more with you. Limitation breeds creativity. Not having a viewfinder was an annoyance at first but became a challenge to expand myself later on. Never have i ever shot so many pictures per day/week/month than with the smaller fixed ricoh (and the fuji wouldnt be any different i am 100% certain). I love working with the limitations and i love the hyper small formfactor. It is always in my pocket, ready for a quick shot.
