I have over 25 years as a hobby mycologist and I finally made an opportunity to begin selling mushrooms to a small chain of grocery stores. Building out slowly, tried to get a small business grant, but no dice. The information you so freely share others charge thousands for. You are quite an amazing human my friend! PLUR from America!
Loving your videos mate. I was a coal miner and CO2 has a specific gravity of 1.53, meaning it is heavier than air and will accumulate on the floor in a area with no or very little air movement. Not sure if you have any issues with CO2 but if you do, maybe duct your exhaust down to the floor?
I enjoy your videos, I also agree that the masters mix is a great if not the best medium to grow on. But I do grow in buckets using pea straw. It works really well.
you are the only grower that grows on softwood as far as i know, i struggled for weeks to find pure hardwood pellets but last week i found your channel and thats such an relief. funny to name your company "oak" and spore tho, cus oaks are obviously hardwood xD
How do you control the temp in each room, ie the Fruiting Chamber, Incubation Room, & Lab? I have recently purchased your course and am in the process of building out a farm. (Beginning/Planning Stage Now)
Amazing mate!!! how do yo wrap your bags for sterilization? just fold them? pre seal? rubber bands? wondering if they are not sealed, is there no risk when taking them out of the sterilizer into your lab?
Rodrigo - A good fold on the bag before it goes into the sterilizer will help it stay sealed after sterilization, I get my hot production blocks in front of my Laminar flow hood to cool down in a clean environment
Curious about the tip that you can grow on pine. I'm a newbie looking into small scale bucket growing for fun, and everywhere I've read it says you can't grow oysters on pine shavings/sawdust. I have access to free pine shavings near me, so I's curious if I can make that work as a substrate if I maybe have a small volume of some sort of supplement. Trying to do this with as many waste/re-used resources as possible.
Great video man! one of your best, a few things... 5:38 Ok but what is the optimum C/N? 6:38 What is that big white mushroom, bear's head? I grow my own spawn too, question ever seen any senescence in your cultures? because i have been growing some trains for years, at least 50 generations on g2g and haven't noticed anything is it real in your opinion? Greeting from Argentina
I think the optimum C/N ratio was 49 off the top of my head. The big mushroom is Hericium novae-zealandiae, our version of coral tooth. I have never seen senescence, and I doubt many people have experienced it. People talk about it like it's affecting them, but I think it's 99% poor growing conditions, not culture senescence.
@@OakandSpore Yeah i think so too. Every summer that i get lower yields in the back of my mind i wonder could it really be senescence, and then i get one nice and cold week where they just double or triple in BE! I need to get an AC for summer lol.
I'm trying to grow oysters on pine sawdust alone, without any good results(extremely slow colonization). Do you think this is because of nitrogen absence? Or maybe there's another reason? Love your Channel, greetings from Chile
It doesn't work like that, or else everyone with a basement would die from co2 concentrations. There is enough convection to keep the gassed mixed just fine.
I agree with your spawn supplier comment. I started buying from a new "Lab" that sold spawn.. they do not grow mushrooms... and when I expanded their spawn, it was always contaminated. I am better off to clone my own, or buy from people like Mossy Creek. Mossy Creek's strains are AMAZING.

Who charges these amounts, asking for a friend
The cow jumping joyfully for the hay always brightens my day.

Great share! thanks for the valuable tips you shared...
My pleasure!
Great videos!
Try a secondary covering”big tent around the tent you are using” or add insulation around existing lab” to control temps and humidity.
Bonus cow-love

What kind of respirators do you wear for your fruiting room?
Do you remove the plastic off the 5cm cut or just cut and leave
you mooooooved pretty quick at the end of the video :)
You just did that :D
Thank you sir.
That happy cow :D
Love your journey, man
Thanks mate!
do you have video on the humidifier?
Hi did you try to grow lion maine with soft wood pellets? I have the same challenge where I live, there is only softwood pellet’s available.thanks.

Quality vid Tom
Cheers brah!
what is that sterilizer that you have? Is that different from your home made sterilizer ?
Love the DIY, BUT humidifiers are very cheap to buy online.
oh s**t the cows :D he was jumping :P

Hey . How has the Chinese autoclave been ?
Those random one bag contamination most likely a hole in the bag or loose filter patch seal. Keep going with the flow!
Yeah, I figured it might have been a torn bag.

Nice & Quickly... I've put you on 1.5 speed. You should be free fast ! lol
Pine pellets are not masters mix though? Masters mix is HWFP and Soyhulls, where HFWP = hardwood fuel pellets. Pine is a softwood. ?

Yes, you need nitrogen!
Co2 being heavier than o2 you still put your extraction at the top?
It doesn't work like that, or else everyone with a basement would die from co2 concentrations.

Got a good laugh at you almost forgetting your cows. Thanks for sharing!
I love you
Always great videos. Thank you for all of them!
Quick question... Do you control the temps in your barn/hall environment too?
No, just the fruiting room and incubation room.
@@OakandSpore might help with keeping your cold winter growing temps more stable... I know, easier said than done 😂
nice cows!
They are going to be very tasty :p
What is your acent?
New Zealand
you said last vid about parsonsiae not being great to grow, have you triedany other natives?
What other natives? We don't have many.
Thank u bro just starting
Awesome!
I would love to know if he is talking about FUNGI PERFECTI, that would be a scandal LOL
Starting up my own small farm in QLD Australia, your Chanel has given me a lot to think about thank you for sharing
Best of luck!
Where are you in Qld? I’m in Benarkin
@@mattnsim I’m located in Yeppoon close to Rockhampton
If everyone who wanted to reinvent the wheel thought like that, then we would have nothing.
Thanks for always sharing information. You're one of my inspirations going forward in life. Best wishes.
My pleasure!
That cows so beautiful and a single breed

Mossy Creek does good work!
Care to share where you purchased this spawn? I just started a farm and am purchasing fruiting blocks.
Who sold you the bad culture from the US?
@mycoshanno
She sells shroom, DMT, LSD, with other psychedelic product and also ships fast
