      While the need to get the gist in 2 minutes seems proper due to time crunch one way to curb anxiety is listen intently to the stories of others . Story telling and listening are powerful relaxants by themselves .

    Great seminar.
    I like that she mentioned chocolate.
    Only thing missing here is circadian rhythm balance through sunlight and meal schedule.
    The cortisol problem is not much about it being high but more about being high all the time or high and low at the wrong times.
    Modern society teaches us to be more active at night. We study at night (active better brainwaves), watch entraining shows and night, go to club and exercise at night (and evening).
    I think that’s the major problem.
    Back then, you wouldn’t be able to do all these things at night as there would be no light to let you.

    I hop on my exercise bike to de-stress. And I pray. I also eat super healthy, and I intermittent fast. Due to an injury, it's difficult to get back to yoga. I have it in mind to get back to massage th therapy and using a sauna. Things that bring on stress for me: ruminating on huge past hurts, and toxic people disrupting my peace. I sometimes feel stress from how much I've had to isolate myself from toxic people. I don't drink alcohol at all. I think my stress levels have come down some, but I feel like I have a long way to go.

      Hi Lucy, my condolences to you for your past hurts. There is hope! (Trauma is the primary disrupter to hormones.) First, in your prayers specially ask Almighty God to Supernaturally align & balance cortisol levels, adrenaline levels, serotonin levels, dopamine levels, testosterone levels, estrogen levels, and restore excellence to vagus nerve system; restore all to His Excellence that He Created (repeat as need). Second, forgiveness. And continue seeking healthy dopamine sources (e.g. yoga, exercise, massage, bubble baths, etc.) God bless.

    What about adding a Pound of fruits to a pound of vegetables per day. Ten servings or about a Kilo (2 lb) is the desirable amount for men. Women can get away with may be 8 servings. Fruit juices dont count but vegetable juice cup accounts for one serving of produce. 2 pounds of produce daily works i 2 weeks via modifying the gut biome

      There are other ways to increase oxitocin. If you can at least get some kind of positive social interaction, that will help (even over the social media). Or maybe getting a massage. But be aware that too much oxiticin can make us overly sensitive towards other people - and thus anxious...

    I think this woman herself cannot help herself, how she can help others? The high perceived stress which manifests as high cortisol is a reaction of the body because the mind lives in the fears that has created. The only way to heal is to see your own fears and face them with honesty to yourself. Do not hide them under the carpet in the light that a "yoga" will help. Your fears will be there for you waiting in the corner....Good luck with being honest with yourself.

    • @chayerradi4063
      @chayerradi4063 9 лет назад +5

    • @reneewoods7491
      @reneewoods7491 9 лет назад +8

      Not so, dark chocolate contains xanthines which are close but not the same as caffeine. It is a very potent anti-oxidant and does not have the same effect as caffeine on raising cortisol. 7 grams per day is sufficient to make a significant impact on lowering risk of heart attack and stroke.
