One of my longest ZBrush tutorials - But, I REALLY wanted to explain and demonstrate this tool as clearly as possible - I remember this function leaving me confused for a long time, I hope I was able to shed some light what the different settings do :)
@@explosivesexplode the thing about instant meshes is, the result is pretty messy and inaccurate, and it is external app and need to do export import. While zbrush you just ned SECONDS to do and set the retopo and the result is very satisfying.
I remember someone telling me zbrush was onlly good for sculpting and I legit also bought up its worth it for zremesher and the knife tool alone. These two tools are stupidly powerful and zbrush has the best versions of each.
your short and sweet videos are the BOMB. I dont want a 50 minute guide to every button, i want quick and dirty and these are o-so quick and dirty! Keep it up!
this is great, just learning zbrush now in university and honestly the UI scared the living hell out of me and this video was on point for what i needed thank you!
Thanks for the explanation. I've been learning Zbrush on and off for the past half year and I still find it baffling how unintuitive the program is to use. There are a lot of Zbrush stans saying that it's easy to use after you get used to it, but I disagree.
I don't get how people can't get used to it after a couple days or weeks. Maybe it's the fact that is the first 3D package I spent a lot of time playing with.
Curves are useful to tell zremesher how to create loops . So if you want specific edge flow in say a face, you can use them to get the topology you want without having to manually retopo
So is 100 the limit with zremesher? I am working on a high poly character sculpt and am wanting to downsize the polycount to something more reasonable. for example from 10 million down to 75k or even less if I can manage to keep the detail.... should I dynamesh it at a lower resolution to get it closer to 100k? or just half it 4 times in zremesher? Usually I would retopo in blender with retopoflow but i have been told by a few people that zbrush is the master for retopo so I am wanting to figure out its z-secrets
I know what you mean man - There are add-ons for this stuff, like Quad-Remesher for $100, but it’s not as powerful or flexible as it is in ZBrush :( So, far none of the available retopo add-ons really match the speed and precision of ZRemesher, so I hope the Blender devs make it a priority to add retopology tools built into the Blender default software soon -
No,It wont create anmation ready in order to create anmation ready topology you need to do som specific flow , But zremesher its good for static object
My goal is to get this over to Maya to retopologize, and UV there, how can I not lose so much detail when doing this? I'm just trying to bring my polycount down a bit so Maya doesn't run slow.

you will not melt or combust if you make a video more then 3 mins long.... trust me
would you use z-remesher over maya's retopology tools? or a blend of the two?
@@lt.facepalm9566 Personally I use both, but if I could only choose 1, I'd probably use Maya's -
Im a blender user, and to me this is by far the most powerful tool of zbrush, and there’s nothing that good in blender. Thanks for the tutorial!
I like the tool Instant Meshes it's pretty good and it's free, does the same thing as well
@@explosivesexplode ive tried it too, its an ok tool but very far from the one in zbrush
@@explosivesexplode the thing about instant meshes is, the result is pretty messy and inaccurate, and it is external app and need to do export import. While zbrush you just ned SECONDS to do and set the retopo and the result is very satisfying.
This tool can be installed in Blender too. There is 1 month trial.
@@juliocargnin what name of this addon?
I step away for 2 seconds and you have an entire ZBrush series. Bless your heart

I love these quick videos. They remind of the quick and dirty blender tutorials.

I was also fighting with this tool,
But the other method you told earlier with the maya retopology was the best I think.
Thanks for the explanation. I've been learning Zbrush on and off for the past half year and I still find it baffling how unintuitive the program is to use.

I'm in the same boat. I tried to convince my self to put up with it, but it's just painful to use.

I've spent decades in other 3D packages.
Creating custom ui is the key to zbrush not being a headache to use.
I cant Explain how much i was wating for your zbrush tutorial. Im so tilt to google every fucking button. Love u man!
can't wait for fibermesh instruction, for all this is another nice tips video
Dude these fast guides are the fucking best
You made me understand much better this function so fast. Thank you 😊
wonderful explained video! thank you so much
Nice tut, you didnt mention using polypaint to guide Zremesher to areas of intended high polycount tho, do you not find that feature useful?
Curves are useful to tell zremesher how to create loops . So if you want specific edge flow in say a face, you can use them to get the topology you want without having to manually retopo
Good tutorial, thank you for it and all the others.
Thks a lot, well explained 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
You are fun to watch !!
zremesher with polypaint is incredible

Thanks for the demo! How does this compare to Quad Remesher Addon for Blender?
Does Z-REMESHER come with Zbrush Core?
I want this tool for blender... just saying

Yes
I apologize if this has been asked already but will this create animation ready topology?
No,It wont create anmation ready in order to create anmation ready topology you need to do som specific flow , But zremesher its good for static object
Thanks!
Awesome!

ideally
Yes but ow to you not get destroyed hands. My fingers keep shrinking where the fingers start to the hand. Not can I get the inbetweens to look right
I've been using 3dcoat and am finding that the auto topo in that program just isn't good enough maybe zremesher in zbrush might be a better choice.
Is blender 3d have options like this?
The closest thing is Quad-Remesher, but it’s an $100 add-on - And, it’s not quite as flexible or fast unfortunately :(
I wanto to know this but in blender
🔥🔥🔥
So your telling me if I get Zbrush I can make game characters without having to Manually doing the retopolgy!?!?
i dont know , i saw different tutuorials and everyime they make manually even if they used zbrush
existe uma maneia de fazer retopologia de maneira eficaz e m personagens mais complexos atravez da pintura com poly groups no Z brush
Except Zbrush often creates "infinite" loops on the remeshed object or takes strange decisions to remesh a complex organic mesh.
