maybe the score rating has to do with their scoring animation? It seems to me that the scoring animation for snorlax for example is far slower than it is for pikachu's or venusaur's for example. I'm pretty sure that's what it's regarding but I could be wrong and it could be their ease of attaining a scoring opportunity.
also, the first trick with the number of teamates to score faster, is mentioned in the tutorial and suggests stacking as many pokemon in there to get a faster score - of course it doesn't say the exact numbers by which is speeds up, but yeah that's where the trick is mentioned.

I feel that in one of the tutorials in the game they explain scoring faster with other team members. It’s nice to know how fast it actually is.

@@SuperTeeds Yea it was for sure in a tutorial but like you said, most people either did do said tutorial and forgot or beat it but just didn't bother to read what said tutorial said to begin with.
Fun fact: there is actually 2 tutorials that you can afk and they will actually auto complete themselves given enough time.
Its actually mention VERY briefly in one of the first 2 tutorials that you are forced to do on startup (just mentioned off-hand in a comment by the tutorial npc). I watched a friend play through the opening tutorial after I had played the game for a while, and was shocked to learn this. Great tip teeds!! I imagine the majority of players didn't know this or remember it from tutorial
This is one of the few detailed mechanics they actually mention in the tutorial. So I remembered it. I didn't know so few people were aware.
I believe the Score rating means how fast their animation score is, after you've successfully charged up a dunking, Pokemon like Gardevoir have a reaaaaaaally long wind-up animation when dropping their score while some like Crustle can score almost instantly. This can be a huge difference when there's a few seconds left on the timer or when you're just trying to reposition yourself after scoring.
I believe the score rating is higher for characters that can move in and out quickly. Absol got them dashes mate.
I think so, too. For example Garchomp is slow and predictable in its path, which makes it hard to score big points alone as you're easily interrupted.

This is so cool! I’ve been standing in the goal as a solo queue to show I’m protecting someone, didn’t know it actually sped up scoring. I’ll try to keep this in mind more often :)

What happens if the teammate leaves the zone while you are trying to score?
Does the time decrease to the normal base or does the speed increase stay?

@@SuperTeeds Also, what happens if you start turning in when there are no teammates on the goal, but then a teammate walks onto the goal while you are turning in? Does this increase your speed at all?
And, does this mechanic have an impact on the effectiveness of the goal getter item at all?

I think score rating is the animations each Pokémon has while scoring. For example, Mr. Mimes scoring animation is longer compared to something like greninja's scoring animation.

Strangely enough, I've been doing this for a while not knowing it had benefits. If I see a teammate with a large dunk ready, I'll usually stay on the goal zone to fight off enemies so that my teammate can score. Never knew there were extra benefits!

I knew about this, it was in the game tutorial too I think, but this information is VERY interesting! I also think that it doesn’t matter if the teams move off the goal while you’re scoring, it’s just important that you start scoring while they’re there
I usually stay on the goal after scoring to help my teammates get their score while I stall enemy players good to know it helps in more ways than one
Another useful tip that I've seen somewhere else is u can actually stand somewhat at the outer part of the score zone and score that way as well it's useful when enemies use the jumpad to disrupt u from scoring but since your outside the goal zone your dunks won't get interrupted! 🙎♂️

Wow I had no idea! I feel it's so easy to score now compared to when the game first started. Prob because we getting smarter when it comes to knowing how much dmg we can take before our score clock gets reset. It's just so hard stopping ppl from scoring even when they have 20+ points.
This was directly stated in the tutorial unlike most features of the game so it blows my mind that do many people still missed it.

If the scorer starts scoring with X amount of teammates on goal, will they keep the reduced timing even if the teammates leave/die?

Do you score more slowly with enemies on the goal? If not, I feel like this should be a thing to make defending easier.
This would make score shield not only as good as it is now, but an actual necessity
@@nightrider1225 You're right, that definitely could happen. But it would also give score shield some actual counterplay. The problem with score shield in my eyes is that you can just walk onto the goal with enemies present and still pop a goal in no problem. If your goal speed were slower in this instance, the enemy would have more of a chance to block your score. Compare this to a player without score shield, and they aren't even making that play to begin with since it's essentially suicide.
Currently, the only way to score without a score shield is to do so without any enemies present or with your team protecting you. Once an enemy reaches the goal (and theoretically slows down your goal timer) odds are they are attacking you within a few milliseconds, canceling your goal animation. So, slowing down your scoring is practically irrelevant. It would be a hinderance in some niche cases of course but the large majority of the time the outcome would be unchanged.
The bottom line is, you're only ever trying to score while an enemy is present if you have score shield. So slowing down your scoring in that instance would nerf score shield.
I deadass did not know about this game mechanic and i've been playing for more than 6 months

I'm almost certain Instant dunk only happens in Shivre City when the bar under or above (can't remember which) the amount of aeos energy you have is full, and when your team KOs Zapdos in Mer Stadium (or whatever it's called).
This will definitely be hard to pull in random matching but at least knowing this I can help my teammates score faster ^_^ thanks teeds
I always thought the score star rating was referring to the length of a pokemon's scoring animation. With higher ratings having faster animations and lower ratings taking longer
So if you see someone trying to score 50, does it speed up after they've pressed X, if I go stand on the score pad. And does it slow down again if I walk off?
Great video. Keep up the great content. Off topic: I was playing a match today and chose to go jungle first. When the match started….tank, support and an extra attacker went straight into the jungle. Top lane and bottom lane with no living soul to defend it was left open for 2 whole minutes. They need to fix this because it’s stupid, pointless and unbalanced if every player in the team wants to run in and steal the jungle from the player who actually benefits from it. It’s was a guarantee loss 5 minutes into the game. Basically my team was new players (I can’t blame them) and a player that didn’t know left from right and up from down. The game is fun but it’s so unbalanced and pay to win. They need to work on a lot of things to make the game more balanced for all players not just people who can throw in $300 and automatically have level 30 items off the bat. Plus all Pokémon’s should not be able to jungle (ITS SO STUPID AND BROKEN)
The rewards on the game are so trash that their isn’t something working looking forward to as you level up. And btw SO MANY DUPLICATE REWARDS. Just an insane amount garbage.
Pay to win needs to be eliminated from the game and they should reward good players (ending score/stats) with some currency as you win ranked matches.
Matchmaking is a joke. You with in the winning team or in the losing team 90% of the time. It’s rare to find both sides well balanced.
But yeah…sorry for venting. My last match with the whole team in the jungle beginning of the match was enough for me. But thank you for your videos. Win on for me

Did you see the tip for scoring standing on the rim of goal. they don't stop your score if they jump to the post
This gets even better with Blissey's new buff that instantly gives an unhinderable shield. Either buff the score shield of an ally scoring or give a score shield to someone without it.
It's important to note (didn't hear it in the video) that the speed boost ONLY happens if your teammate(s) are on the goal with you BEFORE you start charging your score; if you already started charging and your teammate(s) get on the score, you get 0 speed boost.
Something I haven't tested is what happens once you get the score speed boost, and then your teammate(s) leave? Do you still get the boost, or does the game remove it? 🤷♂️

Very informative video as always, thank you! What would be interesting imo is if or how the channeling speed changes when my team mates stand at the goal at the beginning, but move away in the meantime. Did you test that by any chance as well? :)
Can you try out, if a team member step into the goal zone when u are trying to score, does that still lower the timing for scoring? Or does all pokemon have to be in zone before the calculation of score timing?

Did you, by any chance, test how the teammates leaving or entering the goal zone affected this? Like, if an ally walks into the area as I am scoring, does the timer speed up after they enter? And if they leave before I score, does it slow down?
After watching this...I do notice the dunk is alot faster after we take drednaw then head to the 1st post. Good stuff

My guess about the Score Rate would be the animation. Thats all I can honestly guess. Some Pokemon have atrociously long dunk animations, while others are done as soon as you press X.
Score rate can be related to the points you gain or lose when fighting an opposing player I think.
TIL Nobody actually paid any attention to the tutorials despite being forced to do them off rip. 🤣

Now if they are standing in the zone. You enter and start scoring to get the boost. Then they walk away do you retain the score time buff?
If you started to score at a goal with all 5 teammates, and one of them started to leave the goal, will the time you score change or will it still be 1.42 seconds? I could think of a scenario where Snorlax has to use Block to push away enemies, causing him to leave the goal.
I've always been a little bothered about how little information mobas typically give the players, but this game takes the cake. Absolutely ridiculous how much crucial info they dont make available through the abilities descriptions or tutorials.

In the tutorial the game mentions that scoring with your teammates is faster, one of the few things it mentions
If you already start scoring and then a teammate walks onto the goal zone does it make you score faster? Or do you have to cancel your scoring and re-score for a faster score time?
Imagine holding 50 points and while you're in the middle of scoring, they put in 10 points, break the goal, and then leave you to die at the enemys' hands.
What happens if somebody goes in and out of the zone? is it overall faster than if nobody else was inside?
If the teammates step off the goal zone mid score, does it slow down mid-score? Also, does stepping onto the zone while the score is in process speed it up?
Do the teammates have to stay or does it just matter who is in the zone when you start? Like can the five people be in the zone and leave and it’s still short or will the time increase?
Any chance the reverse mechanic exists? Does it take longer to score if an enemy is on the pad with you?
All I can say is:
HOW HAVE I NOT NOTICED THIS!?…. This will DRASTICALLY change my play style as support POKEMON now!

Yeah it should work even if you're scoring at the same time and there is only two!

How well does this scale at say 25 points though? Is it still ~40% faster or is it less effective at lower numbers?
It explains alot that this was in the tutorial and most people didn't know it lool. Some master players could do with doing the tutorial again even if it's bare bones.
Still didn't give us the numbers. Its really crazy how much it reduces the time by, and kind of explains why goal bombing with wigglytuff works so well

The scoring star rate is literally the speed of scoring, even your video shows absol scoring slightly before wiggly with only a half a star difference, now imagine talonflame. You should have compared the lowest star to the highest star lmao.
Also, you really should have tested if you only need to stand on the goal when they START scoring. What happens if you move off the goal while they are scoring?

Is your trainer wearing animal ears? If yes how do you get them?
I believe the higher scoring stars on the characters stats means they can carry more points early on.
Like how at the start of the game you can usually only carry 30 points but by the end you can have 50
I think high scoring means you can hold more points sooner.
Might be worth testing.
