Dual Specc is great 50G a little rude haha 3 day lock out could be great also for gearing a lot more people and opportunities' for more Guild raid groups.@@NOHITJEROME
dual spec being 50g is rough for most people but i suppose it's something to save up for..as i keep spending more gold switching back and forth between specs :D

hi benjmiin, i usually dont complain about a lack of things to do but i see where you are going with that. by maxing out honor the first week you skip the pvp, by hitting 50 the first day you miss out on the leveling, i get all that. there's just something really enjoyable about being one of the first to do things. ie first man on the moon. way cooler than 10000th man on the moon
i am not the first..but it's funny. even with diminishing returns, even if less and less people care about the "firsts" over time. you give humans something to win and they'll win it. even if it's "first level 60 in classic" and everyone else quit and it's the year 2080 :D
Great video but why the f would you want to speed run all the content in one week and do nothing the other 3 months. Actually kind of sad going this hard in SoD lmao
the idea is to speedrun all the content day one that way you run out of things to do and can go complain about it on the internet. JB you know that by now.. (only sort of joking here lol)
Im really not happy about the 7 day lockouts personally. With double raid size and less then half the amount of raids through this phase we will need to get 4x the loot from the raid to have the same loot cadence that we are used too and i just dont see them having bosses drop 10+ items like that. So Im worried that its going to be basically impossible to get bis this phase unless you get extremely lucky. Now all the parsing toward the end of the phase where it normally gets fun and competitive its just going to be more based on how lucky you got in the phase. In my 10 mans by the end, every person was bis or 1-2 items away from full bis and I just dont see that happening anymore in these future phases. Changing to 7 days makes perfect sense at level 60 when we have multiple relevant raids each week but doing it now just sucks. We effectively have less than half the amount of content to do this phase, and that was one of the biggest complaints of the community through the first 2 phases was lack of more things to do, but many of those same people for some reason are happy about this 7 day lockout resulting in less than half the raiding we do currently. Do people want more content or less? Because it seems like people want less even though they say they want more.
Also only getting to do ST 8 times while its relevant is extremely lame. If we are gonna do super short phases of 2 months then doing 7 day lockouts paired with it just sucks. I would like to do a raid more than 8 times before moving on
Hi emerald, you make a great point about loot. I don't see 10 items per boss happening either. This is going to be a very sparse loot phase and BIS will feel not only difficult but unlikely for most. Maybe that's not a bad thing though, maybe having only a select few with full BIS will add to the feeling of the items being impressive. As for the 7 days, I agree it makes the most sense at 60. But I think they want to make the phase feel different, there were complaints the 10mans felt like dungeons. Ultimately I think people want to feel like they are part of a raid, part of a group that shows up every week and hangs out. The 10mans weren't creating that for many of us. Though it sounds like you DID have that positive 10man experience, so you aren't liking these changes. Is that a fair statement?

Its mostly the 7 days lockout than im not a fan of. I like to be a sweaty parser and the end of the phase when everyone is bis and pushing their dps to the limit is also one of my favorite parts of all this and now its just going to feel way more luck based from loot people managed to get. Although honestly for mage the bis is really not a massive jump from pre bis this time around so maybe it wont be so bad and I'm just overthinking. (ppl are saying it only sims 100dps difference in the mage disc)
I understand not liking the 7 day lockout and the loot randomness. It's a lot harder to be competitive if you get unlucky with gear drops. BUT on the other hand imagine if you get a true bis epic weapon day one emeraldmcbride..all of a sudden that loot system doesn't sound so bad :D

@NOHITJEROME It was a hectic launch but had a blast on opening night! Finished off the session with a BRD run which was a real pleasure after all this time spent in phase one and two
I REALLY REALLY GENUINELY APPRECIATE the time and effort you put into this and other videos. I'm not sure if I'm the only one but I'd prefer if you did less of the CGI and spent less time doing all of that and instead used that time to implement the contructive criticism from your loyal fans

@@NOHITJEROME yeah! I skipped phase two because the holidays came and I thought it would last longer. I main an elemental shaman and I am excited about the new elemental runes. The 7 day lockout is awesome for me as a casual as well

@@NOHITJEROME ya it needs to be hard, I'm honestly hoping me and my ragtag group of misfit toys I've essembled this phase hosting pugs doesn't get it down week 1. My guild is 5 friends and we are now 35 strong just from pugging gnomer and getting 6/6.
i'd love to have the raid be challenging but also doable for pugs. gnomer felt almost toxic at times with how mechanics-oriented it was. easy for guilds..hard for random groups

completely get your point kendy. there's just an intoxicating rush to doing the raid early, leveling early. there's also a financial benefit, you can make so much gold if you hit max level fast and can start farming things like firewater. ultimatley if you take things slow you will have more fun imo

"PvP gear". PvP in Season of Discovery is ruined. Everyone can become a HWL and BGs are full of people who know EVERYTHING about PvE, but nothing about PvP. I wish SoD had brackets so PvP players could block PvE players from getting their ranks and gear.
hmm..i think that's the idea though. maybe pvp was too exclusive in the old days? i think the idea is to get people in with low entry and then boom they are in the ecosystem and you can add in things like rbgs
@@NOHITJEROME PUG raids are just as exclusive as PvP, if not even more exclusive. PUG leaders require people to have logs from previous raids to prove that they have experience and are "good enough", but new and solo players cannot get those logs and experience when there are people gatekeeping them. PvP players could just as easily block PvE players from getting their BIS gear from PvP vendors by not letting them to climb up the brackets. E: And that is what we actually did. We blocked specific players from getting HWL/Warlord gear because they excluded players from raids, if they did not have top parses in every boss and had some other unreasonable requirements. We raised the honor limit so high by playing premade WSG/AB, that it would have been impossible for other people to rank up past 10. We blocked difficult players and PvP boosted those who were excluded from raids because they were not "experienced".

@@brandonwilson4740 man the unfortunate truth is, the culture around min maxing in SOD is really hard on average players. Rushing is sadly whether we like it or not, part of that culture. Why is it bad? Well we are running into people being obsessed with parsing, and getting people that are only amazing at the game into raids, instead of giving other players a chance to raid. I found it near impossible on my casual play time routine, to even get into Gnomer - and there is no reason for that; it's not even hard..
the minmax culture is DEFINITELY hard on the avg player, i felt that very much when I started playing. I don't know how we can get away from that mindset though. it infected my brain and now i take the game very seriously..f
I decided to go ahead and prequest, but they're all 36-40 quests, so I CERTAINLY won't hit 43 from turning them all in, haha. Im thinking maybe 41, but Im not in a hurry. No one in my guild is trying to get into ST week one.
hmmm,. frankly hitting 43 seems out of the question for me as well. optimistic. i think 42 ish seems likely. won't be a huge difference tbh. i do think if you hit 50 the first week trying to slot into a mostly-guild pug run might be a good idea. free loot at the very least

U can have resto druid who play with balance talents and dps half the time but u dont tell to all balance " listen guys nobody care about ur dps so u all play wild growth and forget parsing. @@NOHITJEROME

No clue where he's (sarthe) getting that shadoiw priest is going to be extremely powerful. Their damage is pitiful currently (last place in terms of "viable" non PvP specs you would ever consider bringing to a raid) and nothing they were given in runes will be changing that significantly. Their passive healing ability is also SEVERELY overhyped for the same reason trueshot aura is overhyped - they are PARTY, not raid wide. In other words, in an ideal comp, you would have to drop a melee or tank out of the WF group to fit them in and even get a real benefit of the passive healing. It's this same reason melee hunter will continue to dominate and make MM hunters completely unnecessary. Zero reason Trueshot Aura shouldn't be raid wide in SoD as that immediately would make up for their lower DPS and have groups scrambling to have one every raid. Going back to priest though, without vampiric embrace or whatever the mana version of the passive healing ability is, they don't bring anything necessary or really useful to the table and have poor damage. And I'd even argue the mana restoring thing is overrated in SoD because fights have been so quick that mana longevity hasn't even remotely been an issue. Hopefully that changes at 60. They're one of the specs along with things like ret that got literally nothing good regarding p3 changes yet are currently low performers. Yet shamans went from BOTTOM of the barrel, literally last place DPS in tank,ele,and enh specs in p1 to #1, #3,and #5 overall dps for melee,ranged,and tank respectively in p2. Why not show rets some of that love? FFS they even gave them a superior version of salvation, the one thing paladins had left to offer, that not only buffed their tanks threat by 50% but also buffed their own AP by a large amount.
hmm..i think it's the fact that spriest heals the group more than anything. damage is whatever, you want utility. wild growth from a boomkin is more valuable than a higher dps class option imo. you make great points about things like trueshot aura feeling clunky in a party setting, but even with current vamp embrace i think spriest will be desirable
great job max, you will make more than everyone else gold wise and it will barely matter whatsoever for the raid. you are playing in 2030 and the rest of us are in 2010 :D

you are completely fine, just get a dungeon group or do the new nightmare incursion content and you will be 50 in no time at all. this is the best time to get back in
a lot of reasons, some ego, some achievement, some want to make lots of gold from being the first to 50. ie farming blasted lands buffs. i suppose it varies by person

@@NOHITJEROME well the spell ids for the gnomeregan xp have been datamined. its 4 times 10k xp for the first 4 bosses and 2x 15k for the last 2 bosses. thats a total of 70k + the 50% xp buff totals in 105k

You said 40-45k exp and that is a 30-40 min clear. SM cath you can pump 40-60k in 40-50 mins least if your like me a tank shaman.

@@NOHITJEROME ya it needs to be hard, I'm honestly hoping me and my ragtag group of misfit toys I've essembled this phase hosting pugs doesn't get it down week 1. My guild is 5 friends and we are now 35 strong just from pugging gnomer and getting 6/6.
i'd love to have the raid be challenging but also doable for pugs. gnomer felt almost toxic at times with how mechanics-oriented it was. easy for guilds..hard for random groups

Efficiency is cool but its very different than trying to finish a "game" as quick as possible. Meta-gaming state is sad
completely get your point kendy. there's just an intoxicating rush to doing the raid early, leveling early. there's also a financial benefit, you can make so much gold if you hit max level fast and can start farming things like firewater. ultimatley if you take things slow you will have more fun imo

"PvP gear". PvP in Season of Discovery is ruined. Everyone can become a HWL and BGs are full of people who know EVERYTHING about PvE, but nothing about PvP. I wish SoD had brackets so PvP players could block PvE players from getting their ranks and gear.
hmm..i think that's the idea though. maybe pvp was too exclusive in the old days? i think the idea is to get people in with low entry and then boom they are in the ecosystem and you can add in things like rbgs
@@NOHITJEROME PUG raids are just as exclusive as PvP, if not even more exclusive. PUG leaders require people to have logs from previous raids to prove that they have experience and are "good enough", but new and solo players cannot get those logs and experience when there are people gatekeeping them. PvP players could just as easily block PvE players from getting their BIS gear from PvP vendors by not letting them to climb up the brackets.
E: And that is what we actually did. We blocked specific players from getting HWL/Warlord gear because they excluded players from raids, if they did not have top parses in every boss and had some other unreasonable requirements. We raised the honor limit so high by playing premade WSG/AB, that it would have been impossible for other people to rank up past 10. We blocked difficult players and PvP boosted those who were excluded from raids because they were not "experienced".

@@brandonwilson4740 man the unfortunate truth is, the culture around min maxing in SOD is really hard on average players. Rushing is sadly whether we like it or not, part of that culture. Why is it bad? Well we are running into people being obsessed with parsing, and getting people that are only amazing at the game into raids, instead of giving other players a chance to raid. I found it near impossible on my casual play time routine, to even get into Gnomer - and there is no reason for that; it's not even hard..
the minmax culture is DEFINITELY hard on the avg player, i felt that very much when I started playing. I don't know how we can get away from that mindset though. it infected my brain and now i take the game very seriously..f
I decided to go ahead and prequest, but they're all 36-40 quests, so I CERTAINLY won't hit 43 from turning them all in, haha. Im thinking maybe 41, but Im not in a hurry. No one in my guild is trying to get into ST week one.
hmmm,. frankly hitting 43 seems out of the question for me as well. optimistic. i think 42 ish seems likely. won't be a huge difference tbh. i do think if you hit 50 the first week trying to slot into a mostly-guild pug run might be a good idea. free loot at the very least

HMMM... i think the opposite. why not stack balance druids for more wild growth? sure top guilds won't, but i love the extra healing
Because if balance druid play wild growth its automatically 100 dps loss, once for not having sunfire in rotation and also for spending many global cd's for non damaging spell. U can have resto druid who play with balance talents and dps half the time but u dont tell to all balance " listen guys nobody care about ur dps so u all play wild growth and forget parsing.

No clue where he's (sarthe) getting that shadoiw priest is going to be extremely powerful. Their damage is pitiful currently (last place in terms of "viable" non PvP specs you would ever consider bringing to a raid) and nothing they were given in runes will be changing that significantly. Their passive healing ability is also SEVERELY overhyped for the same reason trueshot aura is overhyped - they are PARTY, not raid wide. In other words, in an ideal comp, you would have to drop a melee or tank out of the WF group to fit them in and even get a real benefit of the passive healing. It's this same reason melee hunter will continue to dominate and make MM hunters completely unnecessary. Zero reason Trueshot Aura shouldn't be raid wide in SoD as that immediately would make up for their lower DPS and have groups scrambling to have one every raid.
Going back to priest though, without vampiric embrace or whatever the mana version of the passive healing ability is, they don't bring anything necessary or really useful to the table and have poor damage. And I'd even argue the mana restoring thing is overrated in SoD because fights have been so quick that mana longevity hasn't even remotely been an issue. Hopefully that changes at 60.
They're one of the specs along with things like ret that got literally nothing good regarding p3 changes yet are currently low performers. Yet shamans went from BOTTOM of the barrel, literally last place DPS in tank,ele,and enh specs in p1 to #1, #3,and #5 overall dps for melee,ranged,and tank respectively in p2. Why not show rets some of that love? FFS they even gave them a superior version of salvation, the one thing paladins had left to offer, that not only buffed their tanks threat by 50% but also buffed their own AP by a large amount.
hmm..i think it's the fact that spriest heals the group more than anything. damage is whatever, you want utility. wild growth from a boomkin is more valuable than a higher dps class option imo. you make great points about things like trueshot aura feeling clunky in a party setting, but even with current vamp embrace i think spriest will be desirable

preclearing is how every run is done right now, they have to change the rules imo. nobody wants preclearing, ESPECIALLY the speedrunners imo
