Hey Peter, I have the same engine on my Toyota Corolla, and when I opened up the valve cover, the inside was VERY dirty, like filthy. So I decided to remove some of the sludge with some metal tools, I didn't get very far. Then put the cover back on and did a standard oil change. Then I started the car and let it run for 5 mins. Then I checked the oil dipstick, but there was not a drop of oil. And the oil symbol came on again. My question is why is there no oil on the dipstick, though I changed the oil? The engine doesn't sound any better after the oil change. And Thank you for your videos, they are SUPERB!

109emerald Ok and well. You have bad issue in your engine. Oil goes normally down, but in your engine oil is not down. Right. There are now strokes inside the engine.

Yeah the car stalled today...the pistons won't even turn, not even when turning the crankshaft manually. Could you give a guess as to where the oil is getting stuck? Because, it's not reaching the sump.
