Crawler/Buggy with four completely independent wheels. [No linkages between each wheel except for a central cab.] May be easier to do with all wheel drive[one motor per wheel] & all wheel steer.
would love to see you build a solid axle rock crawler with a ton of suspension flex using a transfer case for high and low range with a transmission. maybe locking and unlocking differentials?
Multiplayer is on the roadmap, dev has said feel free to upvote it on the roadmap. Not sure where the roadmap is, but there's a good chance of it coming in 2024.
For the wobbly, you can install what F1 (and most other race vehicles) use, steering damper. This would be a shock absorber attached to the steering arm in the center, with the damper centered when the wheel is (obviously). This should also help to control understeer a little, as the steering would be smoothed, even with controller smoothing off. I wonder for the drive gear, could you make some sort of one-way clutch? That would put an end to the over-rev wheel lockups.
These GearBlocks videos are great, apologies if this is a siliar/dupe message, just wanted to help out by sharing a few "expert" parts I have a few part collections on the work shop that may help, like a 2x2 differential and 0.125 parts
20:24 Tbf, it's only a little bit too much rotation on the wheel, as F1 cars actually have 360 degree steering rotation, they just bascially don't use it other than for the Monaco hairpin
Dnk if this would be fun (to me) to play. Sometimes things are funnier to watch than to do. Maybe I'm just gettin old. To watch though, its a hell of a game! ❤I love it!
looks crazy good so far, sort of what I always wanted from a game. Gonna try it out in the coming days and I hope to learn some mechanical stuff along the way.
The way that front suspension collapsed was really similar to what happens in real life when they have a big crash. Wheels just hanging on for dear life.
Previously, you talked about converting your Lego F1 car to RC, but it has a bad steering radius. I too have one, and found that there are some tan stops on the underside of the car, and if you remove them the steering radius gets smaller.
I know it would be pretty difficult but, seeing a six speed drag racer would be awesome. Just trying to see how fast you can make a car go and accelerate in a straight line.
In the front an f1 car no ponger uses cantilever suspension system they use whats called a torsion bar which twists a bar and that bar is essentially the "spring"
You should race the cars in first person when you're trying to put down a serious lap, as your steering inputs are more accurate to you. The third person has the camera rotating, thus less accurate steering👍
I mean, you keep saying this game is like Lego, but I'm honestly seeing this as virtual Lego Technic. Technic were the sets with the plastic wonky frame pieces with the interlocking pegs and they sometimes had an electric motor. Like there's a Lego Technic Train that both has a motor onboard the train, but there's also a switch that runs off of a motor as well. I don't know if they're making new ones or if they're still making them at all. I just remember them growing up. If you wanted pirates and castles, that was normal Lego. If you wanted like a Ferrari that could possibly go on its own (by motor or rubberband winding) that was Technic.
They def still making them. I got a semi truck a couple of Christmases ago, no motor but the engine moves when you roll the tires, and there's a cargo container on the back with a crane, so you can use the rotating knobs to lift the container off the trailer and deposit it next to the truck.
@@flabortI've got a few cool technic sets too recently. A pull-back hot rod, a go-kart with a little engine, low, neutral, and high gears, and a cool little steering rack, and a little speed boat with hidden wheels on the bottom that rotate an engine and prop on the back.
You could probably make a pseudo-clutch mechanism by having two crown gears (on the crankshaft and on the input shaft) mesh when a piston is extended. It wouldn't be very realistic because a real clutch can be partially engaged, but it'd work for these purposes.
I WANT MORE OF THIS GAME this game is really cool i love it i am glad that i didn't bought trailmakers for the full price also i am curious if you would put the spring facing the back and front and make the mechanism for it how well it would translate and also if a "hinge" is over loaded how would it behave like if it would fly out like in scrap mechanic
Make a geared (shay, climax, or heisler) locomotive. Just replace train wheel with normal and for now make the electric motor run the pistons (for aestetics).
I'm thinking you might have to get into some logic to make a compact transmission or at least make a display that tells you what gear you're in. I'm not fully sure I'll have to get the game and try it myself. I'll love to experiment with it.
The valves in the shocks need to be switched for smaller ones, you definitely need a stepper motor and the gear ratio on the steering rack needs to be a lot higher and I think you’ve got yourself a nice race car
Diffs have 4 spider gears all of them never have came across one with only 3 spider gears and they have pinion gear for the input that the other part in having trouble with
I don't get why youtubers don't use follow cam. It is always terrible to view it with the sudden moves to trying to keep up with turns. Motion sickness to the max
I'm struggling with learning the building mechanics, this looks unparalleled in terms of making proper vehicle dynamics but I have yet to buy the full game.
Time to make my own vehicle? What kind of vehicle should we do first?
Trophy truck
Make a crawler with portal axels with an engage able 4 wheel drive and a realistic drive train and lockable diffs 2 speed transmission
Crawler/Buggy with four completely independent wheels. [No linkages between each wheel except for a central cab.]
May be easier to do with all wheel drive[one motor per wheel] & all wheel steer.
Seeming as you can't keep your car off the wall, how about a demo derby car
I would say build a more complicated gearbox than a 3 speed slider, then build a race car around it.
It would be fun to see combustion engines added- would give more use to gearboxes
Internal combustion engines are on the roadmap! May be a thing in the future :D
Engine Sim incoming
It's here now
would love to see you build a solid axle rock crawler with a ton of suspension flex using a transfer case for high and low range with a transmission. maybe locking and unlocking differentials?
If only this game had multiplayer.

Yes

If only this game was on console.
@@flabort I would not say a good chance, it’s a very big project :D But I do hope so.

Can't wait to see you start working on your own vehicle. I care more about the mechanical bits than what it looks like, so if it's a box it's a box.
So glad you found this game. Within 7 hours i was working on an awd mid dif full independent suspension car with a 3 speed, this game is amazing.

14:40 I was wondering how they'd do a push rod suspension if they were to be Formula accurate
The physic looks fabulous.
Specially the driving grip: it looks like better than most dedicated games
Wow this is awsome. I'm so happy to be seeing more of this game from you Kan!! Gearblocks is simply awsome.
I love gearblocks
i enjoy the sweet sound of straight cut gears i think this is the new goated scrap mechanic like game
A perfect demonstration of why Halo's where added to F1 cars xD
Dnk if this would be fun (to me) to play. Sometimes things are funnier to watch than to do. Maybe I'm just gettin old. To watch though, its a hell of a game! ❤I love it!

Make a transmission with reverse and lots of gears, that would be awesome
The way that front suspension collapsed was really similar to what happens in real life when they have a big crash. Wheels just hanging on for dear life.
The physics in this game are amazing
This game takes the best from scrap mechanic and the best from trailmakers
Previously, you talked about converting your Lego F1 car to RC, but it has a bad steering radius. I too have one, and found that there are some tan stops on the underside of the car, and if you remove them the steering radius gets smaller.
That last wreck was spectacular!
At 26:44 the character walked at the speed of the F1 car
I would love to see some of the T-180’s from speed racer in this 😂
I know it would be pretty difficult but, seeing a six speed drag racer would be awesome. Just trying to see how fast you can make a car go and accelerate in a straight line.
Classic, warm up lap was the fastest.
This kind of reminds me of making a RC car. I have been hesitant of picking this up but looks great
In the front an f1 car no ponger uses cantilever suspension system they use whats called a torsion bar which twists a bar and that bar is essentially the "spring"
This time it's for real, less goooooooo
The perfect drift car can exist 😁😁😁
More gear Blocks yaaa
you can use the rack and pinion with the stepper motor to build the transmission
Were the rear wheel treads opposite from each other? Maybe that's the wobble? IDK how much fidelity it has simulated in with that.
You should race the cars in first person when you're trying to put down a serious lap, as your steering inputs are more accurate to you. The third person has the camera rotating, thus less accurate steering👍
Well, I just went ahead and building a hypercar as my first build. I´m already 10h in and got the rear, and some of the cockpit finished.
It's motor layout is very similar to formula e cars but they are only supposed to have one motor directly connected to transmission.
As a race car enthusiast I take speed champion sets and rebuild them, into the same cars, but closer to what the cars look like.
Look at the rod in the back that sticks out it will tell you what gear you’re in
Thats a torsion bar, which is actually what they use in F1 cars

Wonder if a full transmission with a clutch is doable - have the motor running constantly, and shift between reverse, neutral, and the drive gears
You could probably make a pseudo-clutch mechanism by having two crown gears (on the crankshaft and on the input shaft) mesh when a piston is extended. It wouldn't be very realistic because a real clutch can be partially engaged, but it'd work for these purposes.
20:47 damn this guy is a crash dummy! Shadow reveals lol
Awsome video brother ✨
I really love the way you keep making theese amazing videoes! I hope to play the game by myself one day.
Keep the good work up!
I forsee builders comps, like build a race car and then have a 5 series tournament lol
SN: you need anti roll bars :)
Oh my god I WANNA SEE MORE and u need to make engines like one guy said u need to add like valves and rockers and stuff
I love this game so much, keep playing it kan!
Me after that video:
Shut up and take my money !!
And now, we wait for an actual engineer to make a drift car that makes 30 sec laps on this track
Workshop hunters, but with kits
Its not called a cantilever suspension (although that does exist, just a different kind of suspension) its called a pushrod suspension.

Destruction Derby with the boys lol
I'd love to see some more off-road stuff, maybe a trophy truck?
The best way I found to do sequential gearboxes is with a stepper motor and rack gear instead of a piston.
I had to subscribe. KAN you're the goat
When is the Railroader Episode?
Wow the destruction physics really deliver in this game! Too bad it doesnt have a multiplayer aspect (yet?).
Making a mech would be fun... Although laggy...
I made a pretty good transmission with clutch gears
I'm thinking you might have to get into some logic to make a compact transmission or at least make a display that tells you what gear you're in. I'm not fully sure I'll have to get the game and try it myself. I'll love to experiment with it.
I’m annoyed my specs barely meet minimum for this, I’d buy this game in a heartbeat. 3 speed gearbox looks cool, but I bet it could be improved.
PLEASE TEST IF CAMBER ON THE FRONT HELPS TURNING!!!
I hope this comes to console I really do, this would scratch a itch I've been having that trailmakers isn't scratching if you know what I mean 🙌
The valves in the shocks need to be switched for smaller ones, you definitely need a stepper motor and the gear ratio on the steering rack needs to be a lot higher and I think you’ve got yourself a nice race car
You cold buld a working steam engine
Diffs have 4 spider gears all of them never have came across one with only 3 spider gears and they have pinion gear for the input that the other part in having trouble with
Man U should make a drift car
Next video please do the old tractor!!! Good videos kan, keep it up
if only i could afford to buy this. or really any game for that matter.
Make a torsen differential with two worm gears. Search "lego torsen differential" if you don't know how.
I wish the car had slicks
Love your videos!
There are two things surprising in the comments
my one has cantilever front and rear on off-road setup.. traxxas nitro slayer lol
if only this game was on console
love it
Holy
I don't get why youtubers don't use follow cam. It is always terrible to view it with the sudden moves to trying to keep up with turns. Motion sickness to the max
Railroads online has a new locomotive now. Pls play
Why is this game not available on linux
I'm struggling with learning the building mechanics, this looks unparalleled in terms of making proper vehicle dynamics but I have yet to buy the full game.
Thank god for halos
Feel like these vehicles are missing swaybars. But not sure how you would accomplish that if this game doesn't have torsion bars.
what game is this
(suspension) pole in the (suspension) hole.
The destruction of this game is so satisfying
That last collision with the debris was awesome
three wheel car thats all i have to say pls make a three wheeler
5 speed transmission
Forget a race car build a drift mobile
Yipee.
Bread
180 degrees total???. no its good in the game sorry kan
