The Project Manager no one asked for returns for a mid build showcase of a 5 bedroom home with a tropical backdrop, and WE LOSE A BIG JOB at a time when the construction industry is quiet, all because of a the actions of one member of staff.

I’m loving you showing us St Lucia and telling us the history. Your mum is so cool 😎. I’m a truck driver in construction. Your driver with the crocs has no excuses. He has lost you business. He gets sacked.
Unfortunately (or not as far your point of view goes), assuming that the driver has a contract of employment and is not a self-employed driver, he will go through the disciplinary procedure Daniel has built for the business, you can't just be sacked because your boss wants to.
That being said, you can always find a way to make stuff gross misconduct...

The cashflow struggle is real. Usually when there’s a consistent cashflow issue there is an underlying profitability issue…however, sometimes, people just pay slow and the pain rolls downhill. I really appreciate the transparent discussions about the nuts and bolts so thank you.
Aggregates and muck away is a very low margin business, anyone will do well to make a few per cent. A bad debt can wipe out profit for a long time. Plant hire the same, especially when starting out, there’ll be thousands a month in HP interest- especially with rates where they are - this alone will wipe out all profit. The most profitable part of his business, if run well, will be the construction part. Probably carrying the rest of the company and covering up all the leaks in the business elsewhere.

That's a bit irresponsible given that the person wearing crocs could easily step in a screw an injure his foot.

Howo, Foton, Shacman, Sino, Faw and other brand are Chinese. Build very strong, sometimes too strong because it make them heavy, reliable and simple so easy to work on, most smaller countries lack advanced mechanics.

My wife works for a very big truck supplier I won’t mention the name but they have lots of struggling companies going bust because of how quiet it is a the moment. We had a plumber in this week and he said he’s never been this low on work in his entire career as a plumber. Nobody is borrowing which can be disastrous in the construction game. You can’t predict wars and how globally damaging they can be. We just have keep focused and ride the storm. It was destined to happen that’s why the arctics got sold :(. Don’t mention them lol

I worked on a hospital project we was waiting for a delivery from Germany it turned up the driver jumped out of his cab wearing sandals and started to unload the truck the project manager said nothing but we were in full Health and safety equipment . Great video Sir

Unfortunately no one really cares about their impact on your business yet they soon moan when work starts to dry up. Human nature unfortunately

in trinidad we have no driver restrictions trucks are on the road from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm sometimes later than that
if there is a ship of material to offload we working till the ship is empty it have nothing like rest
The lady who owns the skip company next to me has a strict rule for all of her drivers. If any of them damage a driveway or get seen without the correct safety gear on it’s instant sacking. I watched her do it a driver didn’t put his pads down then caused damage and she said to him your fired.

I can sort of see Daniel's thinking in this episode. Maybe he can either start work on the 'Heights' project or buy a smaller piece of land in which to build a couple of homes, one which would be a retirement home for Mumma and one for where Daniel can stay whilst acquiring all the paperwork and permissions so as to get the Heights project off the ground. Obviously once Ashville Heights is completed, Daniel will take one of the apartments, maybe even the penthouse and the initial one he perhaps stays in can become AIR BnB.
*I saw on Wikipedia that the late Sir Allan Fitzgerald Laurent Louisy was the 2nd Prime Minister of St Lucia from 1979-1981. I am assuming Sir Allan was a relative of yours Daniel, judging by his surname and that the population there was 121,633 in 1980 so pretty much halfway during his term in office. I can't imagine the population figure has risen much higher since then.
I can see the pull which the Caribbean has to you, Daniel. A few years out there could be just what you need plus you may find the right lady there. I am sure your Mum will ensure everyone knows you are 'on the market'.
In fact I can imagine her lining potential daughter's in law up whilst you are working in London then it will be her holding a party for you lol

Cashflow is a huge headache for most businesses. Invoice financing normally helps but may want to look at your ratios a bit. Try build a buffer by investing some profits into liquid assets like a money market to help self insure against dips in Cashflow

for trainrails wouldnt u be able to have machine that remove the dirt and much quickly by like 5 mins. like those mechanies that spins around remove dirt "typically they have yellow coloured strings in circle cone" can not remember the name of it. just seems way quicker and efficient.
