- This week at Ashville, Daniel is back on UK soil, we have a curved steel going in at the Refurbishment Project to support the bespoke staircase, the Roll on Roll off lorry has a mangled easy sheet system so is going nowhere and after a challenging few weeks, Daniel is left contemplating in the yard trying to make good decisions.

Everyone is working hard but that tyre fitter is worth his weight in gold
Haha true! And he weighs a lot!
@@lightleaperhahaha was just about to say a lot of gold that
Wow that's alot of gold 😊
I was about to make the same comment!
💯💯💯
I love the way you’ll get charged if you can’t unload a train but there forever cancelling it half filling the wagons and you can’t do nothing, I’m not complaining it’s 2024 ahahah
Such is life, hmrc are the same 😂rubbish isn’t it
Ashville didn’t bother paying HMRC a good million or so that’s why they are liquidating 2 Ashville companies
Exactly
@@jameshancock18 yes that’s crap isn’t it 👎
Love how much the tyre fitter guy takes his job seriously and is always thinking about safety and costs.
Can't wait to see this bloody staircase finished. Been the longest project in the history of Ashville. 🎉
Love this channel ❤keep them coming mate.
Dan your absolute treasure, I love how you open up with your own thoughts and wisdom, when you find the ones that turn them into we problems hit me hard, I’m going though some myself and just want to say stay strong and I hope you see this, it’s like god has sent you here to bless people. I suspect your whole family is the same. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you do 🙏🏻
We hope your problems get resolved and thank you for watching and we are glad you enjoy the videos 👊
I will give you some advice that a successful businessman gave me. SMALL IS BEAUTIFUL, BIG IS BUST.
Finding the sweet spot in a Business is the key, you need to find what makes you the most Profit, for the least amount of effort, and with the least amount of Finance/Debt Liabilities.
And also factor in the Biggest liability in any Business the STAFF.
Hope you work it all out im rooting for you Daniel 🙏
I’m on my journey of starting and running a business and your whole way of running your business helps me so much. I get so much out of your positive energy and your wisdom. Thankyou Daniel 👊🏼
👊
Things aren't going as well as you had thought, but I guess its just the universe preparing you for the greater things that are coming your way.
You will look back on this episode at the end of the year and thank yourself for keeping it together despite the challenges, and be amazed at how much you would have achieved since then.
Love how honest you are about business cashflow headaches! Growing a business is a real challenge!
Not that honest still no mention of the 2 Ashville companies that owe 3 million to creditors that is being liquidated ( 1.5 m is owed to Daniel him self) but rest to HMRC banks and councils this must of been from the last cash flow issue
The biggest problem in Business is getting paid. Especially since the pandemic. Everyone thinks it’s a new normal to not pay their bills

A tough week at the office Daniel. Other people’s poor business practice can cause havoc for sure. Sometimes it’s best to reduce both the credit limit and time to pay after being invoiced. Cut your risk. It’s a hard business to be in. Taking time to evaluate the situation is crucial. Bringing cash flow and erratic workload issues to the attention of others is an eye opener for sure, but a hard fact of life running a business.
Let’s see what plan you come up with to get you through this patch 👍🏴🇺🇸
Ashville is what makes every Sunday Morning
except when you're 6 hours ahead of the UK and it's the afternoon!
The last segment (Sat.. sitting on the shovel) struck hard.... topic of chat lately amongst a few clise friends, all self employed. Double standards, demands and ignorance of you don't "oblige". It is tough and it does gradually get to you. Getting that space to reset is harder. Im in the extreme "lightweight" leagues, but glad to hear im not alone in challenging weeks and issues.
Sincerely... thanks for that alone.
Entertraining as ever, especially the hard "20 seconds" cut... 😁
My management philosophy was always to prevent problems stopping my teams from doing the job. I've worked under bad managers who dodged aside and let it all descend, which was an nightmare at times, so I made sure to not be that manager. Managers should be enablers, not dead weight.
I've talked with entrepreneurs, and in one quick chat with Jordan Brompton at myenergi we summed it up like this (excuse language): Be a shit-shield, not a shit-shower. Stop the seagulls above from coating the workers as they go out and earn the revenue.
I had to leave my profession of over 2 decades on medical grounds, but the best thing one of my colleagues told me on the last night out was that I was visible, present, always ready to take problems away from staff so they could get on with their jobs (unlike others at my level who hid in offices and often pushed problems away).
Daniel, you are the shield, not the shower, but remember to take care of yourself when the stresses build up - you've got a great team there to shoulder some of the problems.
Cheers!
What I would find interesting is if Daniel could share more of his vision regarding Ashville group. Maybe keep us updated on how many people are working for you at the moment and where you want to go in the future. By how many employees you wanna grow and just show more of the big journey rather than only „weekly“ updates if you know what i mean
EGR= Exhaust Gas Recirculation. Re burn exhaust gasses to "clean" the emissions further. And since the exhaust gas is very hot, there is usually an EGR cooler that uses engine coolant to keep the temps down. Trouble is the disparity in temps from coolant and exhaust temps cause thermal shock issues with it like cracks in metal and welds
The construction team is pure on point 🔥
Hi Daniel, as ex Royal Marine we work as teams and look after our oppos and if have a good Rupert (officer), the job always got done. I applaud you as you seem to have the same outlook the way you treat and look after the Ashville family work force, another brilliant video.
Thanks for being real and open about everything. It has really helped me navigate my own business challenges. And Luke has a good eye. It was fun to see a new perspective on some of the visuals
Hi Daniel, love from Nigeria…. We’ve got to see the refurbishment project when it’s finished… The owner just has to agree for some of it to be shown because it will be so painful if we don’t see the fruits of all the labor… it’s been forever 😂😂…
Chest out chin up mate.remember you said “success is rented and rent is due everyday” by the sounds of it your navigating through a very dark troubling tunnel but soon daniel you will find the light my Freind. Keep up the great content, the ending had some good advice there, good that you give us an insight on the reality of running a business…
You should share more of the good and bad it will really help others that are running/starting there own businesses.👊🏾
For your mobile signal, Vodafone has a feature where if you have no mobile signal, it routes the calls over your wifi network. It does this all automatically, so from your perspective, it's just making/receiving a normal phone call. I use it cos I can't get a mobile signal at home, unless I walk into the middle of my garden....
Yea he needs to turn it on, on his IPhone in his settings
It's called WiFi Calling and it's a setting in your phone that you just need to switch on. Might need to be activated by your network if it's not already active. You can tell when it is routing calls over WiFi because you see a small phone/WiFi icon in your notification bar.
I was going to say the same thing. I've used it a lot while in the US, coverage varies pretty dramatically there
It’s mad How i
/ others can come here watch thing they are comfortable and still learn
Me and my 2 year old love watching you keep the good work up.
Its part of being a bussiness owner. People dont realize how much stuff you have to deal with on a daily bases...
“ These things are sent to try us “ - Daniel 2024 😂😂
HI Daniel, may I suggest tracking your customer spend on a MAT (Moving Annual Total) basis - this will give you more of a picture on the trend of their spend. Hope this helps?
Stormzy’s refurb gaff is looking great - what a beautiful space
It’s not for him. It’s for an Arsenal player. My uncle does the security for the site.

Running a business is not easy, Its good to have friends that you can use as a sound board They are worth there weight in gold when the chips are down.
Did your client think about the cleaning of the property? vacuum units in the rooms, either a central collection point in the service room? Nice work as always. 🇱🇨
Misses got me shopping so I’m watching this walking around Tesco 😎
Tough watch this week, but I guess this is the realities of running a successful business - there are ups and downs. As Billy Ocean sang, "When the going gets tough, the tough get going" 💪🏽
Morning Daniel, All. Daniel Welcome Home. Nothing worthwhile is ever easy and as ever your ongoing honesty is far reaching. Enjoy designing the Refurbish Project gym as you did for Andrew Southern’s 15m Showcase Property. Stay Strong. Have a great week ahead one and all😊❤
12:20 I miss Dudek's sparkling smile effect, this would have been a PERFECT place to put it
Another tough week, this game is not for the faint-hearted. Trucks and trains give you a beating. More positively, though, the refurbishment project is taking shape beautifully, a credit to you and your team. 👊🏻
Running a business in London is like some type of bonkers self harm...keep going... it's always great to be able to do stuff...
Going through the same issues great that your so honest and that I'm not the only one out there
Another great video Daniel, wishing it was longer. I truly admire and appreciate how transparent you are about Ashville. Not making everything sound so glamorous, but actually speaking about your challenges which make it more interesting. Like you always say " success is never owned, its rented, and rent is due everyday" that's facts!!! . Can't wait to hear more about your development in st.lucia . Being a St.lucian I'm so proud of you , we need more people like you.
Good Morning and welcome back Daniel, you look and sound well rested🙏🏾 You have brilliant thought Leadership and strategic analysis!!! Fantastic update on the Refurbishment project, have fun designing the state of the art gym 👌🏾🙏🏾👏🏾😁
You can make regular calls via WiFi if you activate WiFi Calling with your operator and on your phone.
Last part was much needed. Wish I could meet you in person Mr Ashville
Tyre fitter 👊🏾 got a great attitude a great asset to Ashville that’s for sure
I feel you bro. My last business used invoice discounting.. when you have 100k per month overheads and the interest is piling up and clients want to take their time to pay you... it can all converge very quickly..
Move as many to shorter terms. Engage legal sooner via automation. Don't sign personal guarantees.
Good luck.
Is that how you're feeling about America okay that's cool I'm still going to watch your videos
Your insight and honesty about the challenges of running companies is a great thing helping educate the average bitter jealous lazy disloyal employees of the world.
More plant can make more money. More plant can also cost more money if they ain't busy. Good luck marra.
Liking the more chilled music used in the montages 😊
Aye up Bro.. Put yourself first.. Work is work, you have the rest of your life to get on with.. You'll be remembered one day n forgotten the next. Im sure you've made enough P by now to live comfortably.. if not You'll be great at Consultancy. Get on with your life before time catches up. Time is money, and money is consolidated time. ATB 👊
Some funky business going on with the camera/editing at the end there haha, unusual for the great Ashville video team
looking for a comment abt it xD I expect they did it on purpose as a joke
Daniel is COSS'ing his crew :D PTS basics.
When your phone stops and you mid way though fire fighting issues we have been quite last 2months but it just started to pick up again sure next weeks episodes will say you have as well
Fantastic advice at the end
Great video well done great tyre fitter
Dan times are hard at the moment just need to ride this storm I work in the skip business we are not busy no one got any money keep going if you got to make hard decisions your the boss
I am really enjoying the updates on the refurbishment project, that's going to be an epic home once its finished.
Still in search for hooklift with calibrated weighing function? We builded 2 of them Palfinger HT30A hook lift system. Have photo's.
Could you do a video about your arrangement with British Rail Freight. You get fined if you can’t offload the Wagons. But do you get compensation if the trains are late or if they don’t arrive?
Daniel, do you think it’d be worth doing a meet up with the RUclips family? Maybe we can organise a day where there’s food available and we can come meet you, the sticker man and Michael. What do you think?
Benjie's a proper decent fella, good to see him embracing the RUclips 😉🤣
what an inspiration!
Mr. Benjamin works really hard to make all those wonders with the tyres.
11:05 this is an awesome way to demonstrate
Leave 20 seconds for the cards (CUT!). haha. Respect Luke.

Thank you 😊😊
I'm getting vibes that the Refurbishment Project is for Stormzy (Michael) Both the same Height, Stormzy is a music creator and good friends with Daniel. got the feeling around 4-5 episode ago. if so he is one lucky bugger.
Morning Daniel, given how tidy and precise you are; I was struck by the tidiness of the yard where the plant hire equipment is located. I'm happy to pop in and help tidy up 🎉🎉
You need to use your time and energy in a more productive way, if you want to give a few hours of your time, give it to a charity etc
@@shsh-he5qg thank u
Hi Daniel, I've followed the channel from the start. If you can keep the drive and good relationships with your team, I'm sure you will have plenty of wins in life. Lows are the starting point of highs. It's good that they are people who you know and respect enough to ask for help to have that is priceless.
You know its interesting how when you're working with a LARGE company if you inconvenience them you get a fine ( not being able to unload the train) but when they inconvenience you theres no problem ( taking away a half loaded train because the train was late)...... Or the doctor's office for that matter.
Rough week Mr A but it happens, file it and roll into next week like a fighter.
I like seeing how you interact with your staff. You are very clear in your instructions etc. It's really good. I'm learning here I think.
I really enjoy the behind the scenes aspect of how the business is run-the highs and the lows.
If a carrage can hold 75 tonnes, how much can the bucket take each time?
Let’s hope we get a large uptake in the new few weeks fingers crossed. It’s a fighting fires industry
Whats up big brother, seeing that you have put up a new video is awesome!!!!!!! It Saturday night early Sunday it gives me something to get my mind off of family stuff and on trying to make through to the next week
Powerful 💖✌️😀😀
Top job must be like banging your head on the table top at times keep up the great work pal
Fair does great way of thinking
Its Sunday.. and that's Ashville time
Respect for the tire man
Thought provoking at the end, very true what you're saying. Always need friends around who we can talk things through and work things out with.
Envious. Like the biggest tonka set in the world !

Its Sunday.. and am watching ashville
Good job Luke.
Boom ashville Sunday weekly before the kids wake up ❤
Awesome vid as always !
You seriously need to invest in a piece of kit for your tyre fitter to pop the tyres off the rims mechanically and not manually … he’s a diamond guy 💪🏻
Welcome back from your Travels Mr Louisy, but Morning Ashville Family ❤

Its gone quiet all round Daniel, unfortunately, our first 1/4 has been abysmal, I've currently laid everyone off while waiting for projects to start.
Bro, that’s wild about your phone service. The same thing happened to me about the same timeline a couple weeks back.
